I have come to conclude that the folks at 10K, especially Kelly S., have zero interest in preserving good relationships with their tenants, and have come to own our two building complex for the sole purpose of collecting our rents. They are completely unresponsive to tenant concerns or inquiries; they use their own failures and disorganization to justify extreme actions taken against their tenants; and they fail to communicate even the most basic of information regarding things like an upcoming routine inspection, making the tenants' failure to anticipate such an inspection into a big drama to hide the fact that even the most basic communication can avoid most misunderstandings. I had thought no management company could be worse than when I rented from Housing Hub. But 10K is really trying to take home the title of worst landlord with whom this renter has ever had the displeasure of entering into a lease agreement.

After a few years, the original front office staff I dealt with were replaced. The current staff is only worried about how much money they can make or how much they can nickel and dime you. Issues I tried to get fixed that were problems before I moved in were suddenly my fault and the correspondence i gave magically disappeared. This place has gone downhill hard. The uncaring staff, the garage break-ins they don't care about or bother to moniter, the scams they pull to charge you extra at move out...disrespectful. I lived in NYC for decades and didn't deal with the problems I had to deal with the last year of my residency. Avoid this place and make sure you document every little thing that say....they WILL try and screw you.

The staff and Nate do a great job in keeping the complex running in top shape. Over the time I have been here much has been remodeled: gym facility, indoor pool, and apartments (which includes central air conditioning and newer layouts plus appliances). Staff has always been quick and prompt to respond to any maintenance requests and the bike trail that surrounds the complex and goes up and down the Mississippi is amazing!

I've lived here for three years and there have been small issues over the course of my time here - such as the time my car was broken into in the garage and I received no follow up after reporting it to them. But the biggest issue I've encountered has been in the process of moving out. Upon giving my notice, I was informed I would be required to vacate my unit by noon on the final day of my lease but would be required to pay the full amount of rent for that day. When I asked for a couple additional hours to tidy up before turning in my keys I was told that would not be possible and that if I did not turn my keys in by noon I would be charged for an extra day at the increased month to month rate. When I asked for an itemized breakdown of my monthly charges by the hour I was told this was not possible. Live here at your own risk.

Both Cedar Management and AllStar Construction and Maintenance started in our community 2019. AllStar started on rebuilding decks at this time. my deck was done in the fall of 2019 and after deck completed I am on 3rd dryer after managment stating dryer vents cleaned by vendor 7/2023. Finally had company come out that I purchased new speed queen dryer from and learned that they had blocked dryer vent by over 50%. I got City involved and out of 80 decks they have done not one has received a final inspection and no response after City tried reaching them numerous times to get finals done. Not only that they are dealing with duct work under my deck and do not have a license through the State of MN for HVAC which duct work is considered. I have been dealing with this issue for 2 years now and it is still not resolved. Either Cedar Management or AllStar should be paying for all damages and of course they either want to blame homeowner or make the Assoication pay for damages. They have not done correct work and need to come back to due finishes on my deck including caulking j channel under deck which could cause water issues (mold), My dryer exhaust vent got disconnected which could be a fire hazard not to mention carbon monoxide poisoning. If you come across either of these companies run the other way!!!

In October 2025, I hired Minnesota Roofing Company to repair a small roof leak we were experiencing…read morethat summer during heavy windy rain storms. During the repair, we also requested removal of an unused chimney. The company additionally informed us that our home had mixed ventilation, which we have had since 2009, and advised that this needed correction to improve overall ventilation. Their correction to our ventilation was to remove our existing ridge vent and add plywood to cover an existing box vent, leaving only two working box vents. The company missed the original scheduled installation, date, and debris from the project was left on our lawn for three days until I contacted them to request removal. No permit was pulled for the work. Following the project, our attic, began accumulating, significant moisture, ice, and mold. When I asked them to correct this in early December they instructed me to install baffling as their work would be costly to bring things 'up to code.' The city has since inspected the work and informed us that a permit should've been obtained, that the chimney removal lacks required structural support, and that the chimney chase was not properly insulated or capped. According to the city, these deficiencies directly contributed to the moisture and mold issues. The city also noted that ventilation removed during the project needs to be restored to meet Minnesota State building code R806. Despite bringing these concerns to Minnesota roofing company, neither the CEO nor the project manager has addressed or taken responsibility for the issues we have not experienced in the 17 years we have been in this house until this company "repaired" our roof. We are now left with extensive damage and require corrective repairs.
