I came here to replace one of my bracelets that broke recently that I bought a long time ago at a different Turkish store in California. I didn't see exactly what I wanted on display but the woman working there came and helped me with exactly what I was looking for. She was really attentive and showed me a lot of different options for what I wanted. I really appreciated the customer service and love the bracelets that I did get. If I could give zero stars I would ... I went in for a bracelet specifically one that was special for myself and a good luck bracelet, and after I purchased the bracelet in just 2 weeks not only did the charm fall off, a rhinestone fell out, and then it snapped in half. I called the store and spoke with the man and he said bring it in so I can see it because if it is just the link we may be able to fix it. I said okay don't think it was because of a link but I'll bring it in. Mind you it is a 2 hour round trip subway ride with multiple connections , not your easiest place to get to. Get to the store and the man takes one look at my bracelet and says yeah... it's broken. I can't do anything. I said yeah I know it's broken that's the issue? He proceeds to say "well it doesn't just break. Did you buy it broken?" What kind of response is that in general, but this was a $70 bracelet. He tells me that I broke the bracelet, gaslighting me that there is no way it just 'breaks' and literally has no solution. I ask him for a refund or to pick something else out of same value since he can't fix the current one, and he said no there's nothing he can do because it wasn't broken when I purchased it. I emphasized to him again that this was purchased 2 weeks ago!! On the exact same wrist that I was wearing their bracelet, I have 3 other bracelets that did not break and haven't in the years I have worn them, so imagine my surprise when this one literally flew off of my wrist one day. Allegedly 'that's impossible' and was forced to leave the store with zero solution given, no refund, can't fix the bracelet, and won't let me replace it with a new one. For a $70 bracelet I am baffled at the awful quality number 1, but also the care that they give to their customers, or I should say lack of. I have had jewelry that costs much less and literally has lasted years with daily wear so how is it possible that this one that looks and was expensive breaks in 2 weeks? Now not only did it break. The charm itself is tarnishing and turning a copper color when it was supposed to be gold. I would not touch this place with a 10-foot pole. I really wanted to like this store as I'm a huge fan of Turkish decor AND it's a few feet away from my home. I walked in after a work out with my family looking for a lamp that I saw last time I visited turkey. I must have looked like a hot mess after my sweaty exercise: I asked the owner if he had the specific item, he clearly did not want me in his store because he told me to go MARSHALLS and quickly sent me away. You ever see mean girls? When Regina George went to 1,3,5 to buy a dress that she was too fat to fit in, and the sales associate told her to go to Marshall's ? That's exactly what this guy did. Maybe it's because I'm Hispanic-or I was dressed in gym attire - or the fact that I look like a very young mom but this mans intentions were malicious. It's a shame because there were so many things that I couldn't buy in turkey for my home and felt relief when I walked in. read more

I was delighted to find this lovely shop in Astoria -- like discovering a little piece of Istanbul. My friend and I were just browsing, expecting high prices for the exquisite cushion covers made of colorful rug fabric. I ended up buying two beautiful, intricate cushion covers and a lovely purse for less than one item would have cost elsewhere. They also have beautiful rugs and jewelry and genuine Turkish decorative items, and all are further enriched by the friendly and helpful attention of Alexandra and Emrah. This mostly accessory store is an unusual spectacle on Steinway, interspersed between hookah bars and dollar stores. It's on the smaller side, and the displays aren't particularly noteworthy. But there are a lot of great gift ideas - jewelry, clothing, and housewares. It's a great place to be creative and for a short respite off Steinway. read more

Nice store with beautiful stuff in all price ranges but definitely on the pricier side. Some of the stuff is a little mass market cheaply made while other stuff is more artisan. They're happy to show you items you're interested in. They have a loyalty card now so make sure you do that. read more

Beautiful Turkish wares! I wanted to ogle and browse slowly so that I could admire every piece, but it really wasn't the most comfortable shopping experience. Service was fine - we were greeted and then left to browse, just the way I prefer. The awkward part is that store is covered in paper signs warning patrons of the "you break it, you bought it" rule the owners enforce with exuberance. I felt anxious surrounded by so many of these signs, and couldn't help but wonder how often customers broke items in the store. It made me not want to touch anything whatsoever, for fear of a legitimate accident - not the most comfortable shopping experience, I have to say. Any-who, despite that I enjoyed looking at the jewelry and mosaic lamps. I've always admired the ones hanging from the ceiling at Seva (Indian food place), so I was curious about the costs. As another reviewer mentioned, they are several hundred dollars. They would be worth every penny, in my opinion. They're beautifully and artfully made. read more

I really want to like this store. It has some beautiful things. Some may be overpriced, but I imagine their rent must be crazy, so I understand. However, the confrontational attitude of the saleswoman on any question I had, along with the whole "don't touch!" and "you break it, you bought it!" signs all over the store were enough for me to decide never to go there again. I feel terrible giving a bad review because the saleswoman was so kind, but the jewelry here is wildly overpriced and poorly made. I bought a bracelet on a Friday and by Sunday, it had broken. I returned and the same, helpful saleswoman was working. She let me exchange the bracelet, but as I write this, I can see a crystal has already fallen out! I am sure their lamps are worth the money, as they are gorgeous, but after these bad experiences I will not return. So disappointed! read more

I recently went to istanbul and I can tell you that they have almost everything I saw in turkey packed in this store. It is more expensive than turkey, but you do not have to pay the airfare. I love the jewlry ceramics and housewares. read more

Beautiful things! ugh, i wanted to buy everything in this store. They have some of the coolest hanging lanterns/lights I've ever seen. They are a little pricey but would be a real statement piece in your home. The average price was around $400 for the hanging mosaic light pieces. They also have beautiful jewelery, rugs, hand painted dishes, and so much more. Can't wait to come back here when I have some moolah to spend! read more

The most beautiful store in Queens really. While I was there I asked why the "no touch" signs and the owners kindly explain: they have lost thousands of dollars to customers who brake things an they do not want to pay for them. People even hide what they brake. So not fair...I was kind of turned off by the signs but when I was explained why, if I was a business owner I would probably do the same. So for those who don't like the signs - you are probably the kind of person who brakes things and don't want to pay for them - don't come back and missed on beautiful things you can not find anywhere else. Pricing was great, I bought 3 earrings that I wouldn't have been able to afford in the city - and the best part the designer was there, she was so down to earth and great to talk to.
