First-Hand Experience: I've seen Elgin play live, in person, away from home, but never at home. I appreciate this team because they're up in the middle of nowhere and their fans are good people. I think they make a great addition to the league. So I'll give them a 4 instead of a 3. Plus they have been around since... forever. They play in Black and White like Juventus (or Notts Co, lol), and were founded in 1893, but never played in the Scottish League until 2000, amazingly. They won the Highland League many times, but lost 14-1 to Hearts once. Oopsies. Their stadium is the most northerly in the entire UK, and for some reason, I sort of root for them, and will give them a 4.

There is a large television which showed live football pool tables and a dart board for those who prefer to participate in sport rather than spectate. The decor was very interesting with old photos, football shirts, pendents, etc adorning the walls, showing the history of Elgin City football club. There is also a function room available for parties and corporate events which is quite large and tastfully decorated. I look forward to visiting again.

Inverness' only cinema (not counting the one in Eden Court but that mostly shows arty films)…read more It was rammed into by a car a few months ago and as a result they have moved the reception area to the food court which is a bit confusing. You have to wait to pay for your tickets with all the people buying hot dogs and popcorn which can mean a long wait. The cinema itself it however clean and tidy. The toilets are also excellent, always clean and lots of them. Don't forget Orange Wednesdays when you get to go two for one.

There is a small gift area next to where you purchase tickets. Worth a visit, having been brought up in Nairn, but left many years ago, I did find this interesting, I even learnt some new things about Nairn. Went with Mum, Auntie who left Nairn many years ago and my God-Mother. A lot of the items have been donated, I do hope people of Nairn and anyone else that have things of interest, donate to the Museum.

First-Hand Experience: More info about my personal experience at this stadium - one of my fave locations for a stadium in Scotland. I've been here 3 times... to watch a match in the early 00s... then to visit the stadium as a tourist by myself in 2011 during my tour and with my gf in 2014. She loved it more than I did, because of the perfect crystal blue waters and lush grass. It's a lovely setting right by the water. Personally I look at a stadium for other factors - does it contain the crowd noise, is it overly windy, are the facilities good, is there a long tradition. This stadium only scores 1 of 4 on those counts. Great facilities, but it's new, and it's open to wind and loses crowd noise. I still have to give it a 4 for the fantastic location though, and a little town like Inverness can't ask for much more than this place honestly. So when I was doing my first tour of Scotland in 2011, I also hit up every single stadium in the country. My obsession with footy (soccer to Americans) is the reason. Every stadium review - like all my reviews - are based on first-hand personal experience, usually from multiple visits. As recently as Fall 2014, when I was "stuck" in UK for 3 months, I went to most of them yet again while travelling. I have pictures of me at many of them, which I will post later. This stadium is right by the water up in Inverness, it's one of the prettiest settings for a stadium that I've ever seen. Right under the shadow of the Kessock Bridge, next to the Moray Firth. The stadium opened in 2006 and cost 5 mil. Rod Stewart and Elton John have both played concerts here, the former was actually a player for Scotland once in a friendly game. And scored. It's not a very impressive stadium, but it's nice enough and its amazing location earns it a 4.

I've been to several whisky tours/tastings in the USA, Canada, and Scotland. This was by far the…read morebest tour. Really fun. Very informative and interesting and their whisky is great. And they don't add color. Love that they would give you little bottles to take home your whisky if you didn't want to finish it during the tasting. It was a pretty generous tasting too. Loved how many we got to try. Amazing that such a big distillery is still family owned. The staff felt a bit like a family too (in a good way). Loved the stories and history and the world's smallest whisky storage warehouse. I know there are a lot of distilleries to choose from when you are touring Scotland and each has its own unique thing to offer, this is one you want to keep on your list though!

Third stop on my whiskey tour…read more  Only  one on the tour that is still family owned. We sampled a 10 year old and 15 year old  single malt. We visited one of the original warehouses and spent some time in their corporate space.  You can see the rails used to move the barrels to the warehouse.  Just outside the corporate hall is a cabinet of bottles dating back to 1950's. That was cool to see.  Posted with the bottles is a sheet displaying how much the each bottle cost now. One interesting fact the guide mentioned  was that they still use gas heating.  Only two other distillaries still use gas heating,  others use a steam coil.
