Terrible service, requested a taxi, was really clear to all of they had a car available, was told that they did and that it would be ten to fifteen minutes. Multplie taxis canceled, never arrived, really screwed up my plans as I had to make a long walk across unlit Port Meadow in deep mud. We were staying at the voco Oxford Thames and ordered a taxi via the reception area there. The car arrived within five minutes as promised. The Nigerian taxi driver was friendly n helpful and the car was one of their premier cars a nice, clean, sleek black saloon. read more

If you want a taxi anywhere in oxford...take a bike or walk. The Royal Cars driver's are the worst I have experienced. Try to book a ride without a definitive address and you will be hung up upon....not helpful if you don't know the area or visiting. Shocking. The office receptionist didn't have a clue about the village in Oxford I wanted to go to so passed me on to the boss (fine, didn't have a problem with that) but when I tried to pre pay, he wanted me to pay an EXTRA 50%!!!! from £20 to £30 because ''The driver needs to be paid extra to put the bag in the car''. Nice drivers, but very rude and nasty office that means will go elsewhere in future. They really upset me, almost like a school bully and left me speechless. Used them once and were fine, but office were very nasty second time and will look elsewhere if need cab in future. I could not believe they were so nasty on the phone. Horrible experience with this company. Had booked a taxi to meet my husband and children at Heathrow and drive them to Oxford. The plane landed at 7:30, and the agreed upon meeting time inside the terminal was at 8:45. The driver showed up around 9:30. I called the company several times and spoke to several people, all unpleasant and eager to get me off the phone. Their response was that there was "no problem" and that the driver was at the airport looking for parking. They did not acknowledge any responsibility in the tardiness and gave the impression that they could not care less. Will never use again. read more

BEWARE: Check reviews on several sites before using their services!! Sadly they have a near monopoly in the Oxfordshire area. My family have used them for a few years, but lately it is very hit & miss whether the driver tries to charge extra. Worst cab service. The driver arrived 5 Minutes early and gave me 6 missed calls while I tried to gather my stuff to rush to the car. When I reached the car ( at exactly the agreed upon time), the driver started shouting at me for not picking up his calls. It was absolutely absurd and unreal. Ultimately, I offered to just get out of the car and he told me to 'get the hell out'. He also called me an 'idiot' which was a cherry on top for all this absurdity. Please refrain from using this service! Plenty of other taxi services out there in Oxford. I'd give this a negative star but that unfortunately is not an option here . read more

Don't hire a taxi from this company. I used it the very first day I was in Oxford and since I look very young I was scammed. I complained about the price (barely 0.5km) for 10 pounds without big luggage and the driver said with a smile "just get used to it, this place is expensive". As a frequent cyclist, they have the worst consideration for cyclists I have ever seen. They don't care about our safety at all and they are utterly rude. Just get Uber instead or hire a bike. read more

Appalling service. The worst taxi company I've had the misfortune of dealing with. We booked a taxi the day before to pick up outside Oxford. The taxi turned up 40 mins late afte repeated calls to the driver and the office. We were lied to repeatedly about where the taxi was When the taxi did finally get to us, the driver spent the entire journey texting his friends with the phone on his knee. When we reached the destination, he wanted more money than we had previously agreed. He then physically threatened us when we refused to pay In all, if you want to be late, driven illegally and then basically robbed, 777333 is the people to call. read more
