My mother left her phone on the bus and she and the hotel have been trying to get ahold of a person to see if someone can find her phone. This has been going on since Wednesday. Good journeys to and fromLondon yesterday (0915 from Thornhill. 1620 from Victoria) with excellent drivers. However it was a cold day and there seemed to be no heating at all on the bus - is this normal? Also my wi-fi connection was fine in tge morning but i was unable to log in on the return journey. read more

The driver of one of the buses departing Victoria station, London at 19.10 on 23/4/2025 (the first departing bus) were unbelievably rude and unkind. I would recommend not being self-centered. Being condenscending and rude to the customers is the easiest way to lose trust and make the journey unpleasant. I have traveled tens of times and will not go with Oxford tube again. Would also be great if Oxford Tube is not late every single journey departing from London at around 1800-1900. They are always late by at least half an hour. Trains are a bit more expensive but much, much more polite and pleasant. read more

If you buy a ticket online, they demand that you print out a *physical paper copy*, having it on your phone is not allowed. This is totally unique to the Oxford Tube, no other service has this ridiculous system. When I arrived without a paper ticket, the driver berated me for not printing a ticket out, and went on to give a nonsense argument about how this is the only system that could possibly work. He also claimed that "we tell you three times to print a ticket out" - sure, in the small print on the ticket, but who reads the small print of a ticket? They don't warn you of this when you buy the ticket, if they did I wouldn't have bothered and got the train instead. I had to go find the closest public library and print a ticket out before travelling. I wasn't the only one, there was a whole group of us. I will not be taking the oxford tube again. read more

My sister-in-law, who lives in Oxford, uses the Oxford Tube to get into London, so she recommended it for us. She uses the prepaid card to get 10 trips, so the cost to us was just £12 roundtrip (one punch each way for each of us). I think it's nice that you can just punch the same card multiple times for multiple passengers on the same trip, since not all transportation seems to work that way. We road from High Street in Oxford (leaving a few minutes later that the 7:10ish bus that was on the scheduled) all the way to Victoria Station. There was traffic and rain, so by the time we arrived at Victoria it had taken over 2 hours. In the craziness of the renovations around Victoria Station, it was quite challenging to find the bus for our return to Oxford, particularly around 4 on a Friday afternoon. After going to where they'd let us off in the morning and retracing our steps, we asked the tourist information desk inside VS, and were directed across the street to the north of the small green space north of the station. The driver on the return even kindly let us on while he was stopped at a light, lucky for us since otherwise we would've been waiting another 20 minutes or so. The bus is clean, and has strong wifi. The drivers were courteous and prompt in their station announcements. Seems like a convenient and easy way to get into and out of the city, as long as you're not on a strict timetable (since traffic can't be predicted). read more

Cheap, fast, comfortable, easy. Yes I'm actually describing public transport. The Oxford tube is fantastic. £15 round trip on a very comfortable bus with service that runs every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day. Convenient pick up and drop off points and very friendly drivers make this a no-brainer for travel to Oxford. Oh, let's not forget the free wi-fi as well as the powerpoints at the seats. The oddly named Oxford tube is a great service for getting into London and I don't know anyone who's been let down by it. As ahunter says, the fare is £12 if you're a student, and I think this holds for young person's railcard holders as well. The 'nightrider' fare is £9, which is pretty good for a 3 hours round trip on a comfy coach. Good points: Regular service - every 12 minutes during peak hours Free wi-fi Breakfast available Friendly drivers - jokes about cruising level and weather at destination are common! Cheap Bad points: Traffic - unlike trains, it can get stuck in traffic jams, so best avoided in rush hour The train is faster and can be only a couple of pounds more if you have a student railcard (£13.20 return with underground last time I went) - worth bearing in mind if you'll be using the underground. Scary for cyclists - the Tube goes very fast, which is great if you're in it, but terrifying if you're cycling next to it! read more

Oxford has excellent links to London and the Tube is one of the better ways to travel. A lot has been said above about tickets etc, so I won't mention these. The Tube has WiFi aboard, which is very useful if you have your laptop. It is also very very frequent and runs 24/7, so you can always count on it. You can get on at the Oxford central coach station in the city centre, on the High street outside Queens College, on St Clements, outside Brookes University and in Headington. Drop off locations in London are quite central, but you can also get off at Hillingdon, which is great if you're trying to get somewhere on Zone 5-6. It should be noted however, that you can get a day return ticket on the trains for £13.20 with an Underground pass (zones 1-4) if you have a young person's railcard. This may suit some better, as the train takes only an hour (make sure you don't get the local stopping service!), though the last service back is about 11.30pm read more

Very outdated ticketing system. They require to print your online email before you are allowed on the bus otherwise you need to buy a new ticket! - (email is not enough for the drivers) Seats need cleaning and bus stop in Victoria was difficult to find because the information was not in the email and not easy to find on the website. Needs some updating overall. read more

I have only found one power point that worked during three journeys. I tried several seats on two of those. I suspect the service will only get worse as Stagecoach now have a monopoly. RIP X90. read more

Highly recommend this form transportation to and from London to Oxford, at a reasonable price of £18 return. There are a couple of stops in London before hitting the motorway and a couple of stops once you've entered Oxford. Incredibly clean, with a clock display and bus announcer...oh and strong WIFI is an added bonus! read more

Fits more people than the Oxford Espress but the journey takes longer, it tends to be dirtier and also has more (occasionally loud) tourists and drunk students. read more

I agree with all of the above and frequently recommend the Oxford - London coaches to my London friends. Few of them can be prised from their cars or the belief that the train is quicker than coaches so I'll try and persuade some people here instead. The great thing about these coaches is that they'll pick you up an drop you in the centre of town unlike the trains. Oxford station is a 10 minute walk from the centre of town and a bus ride away from many of the residential areas. Depending on where you are going you may find you don't have to take any other public transport, or that you can get a bus rather than the London underground. The train drops you in Paddington. The Oxford Tube stops at Hillingdon, Shephards bush, Notting Hill, Marble Arch, and Victoria. In Oxford the bus will drop you at the Park and ride (for those people who left their cars there) and lots of bus stops through Headington, the Plain (useful for those who are visiting people in East Oxford), the high Street and then it goes round the houses (don't panic it is only the one way system) and into Gloucester Green which may not be scenic but it is a lot closer to the centre than the train station. The other great thing about the coaches is their fares. Don't assume you need to buy two singles or a period return. Tell the driver when you are going and when you want to return and let him/her tell you what is the best ticket to buy. Just remember: Children go free except on Saturdays. Nightrider tickets available between 3pm and midnight are cheaper than day returns and let you come back anytime the next day. Day returns also let you come home anytime the next day. If you travel by a stagecoach bus in Oxford or Oxfordshire in order to get to the London Tube ask for a "Londoner" ticket as you get on the first bus and you'll get your stagecoach travel for a pound as well as your Tube ticket. *You can buy a Tube12 pass which gives you 12 single journeys for 65 pounds so 5.50 a single. The pass is valid for a year. I think you can buy one pass and use it to take more than one person but I'd check that. Once upon a time I used to have a social life and I used to have a 12trip pass for each of the coach services to London (the Oxford Express and the Oxford Tube) that way I could get on whichever bus came first. Obviously you need to check what I've told you with the website or the driver because things change - though these tickets seem to have been available forever. The only bad things about the buses are the traffic (caused by other people not taking the bus) and the number of people who do take the Oxford - London coaches which mean you sometimes have to wait as several coaches go past you full to the brim at popular times. If you are travelling in the rush hour it may be worth going to the terminus to start your journey. Persuaded? read more

For getting into London, I think this is by far the best method. It's reasonably quick, there's a good regular service and it's pretty comfortable. One word of warning - if you're planning to leave your car at the (free) Park and Ride at Thornhill, get there early - pretty much all the spaces are gone by about half past nine, and you can spend a very long time looking! read more

this is a great service run by the stagecoach company. the service is a frequent service to london from oxford and very regular 24 /7 you can be in the capital an hour and half later . this is a great bus service with great links to london i would go to say its better than train services and alot cheaper. read more

Sorry I can't give zero stars. Extremely rude drivers. They never have change (unlike any other company in the world which is so keen on taking money from you). Dirty, uncomfortable. The so-called wifi internet is very unreliable and slow. Don't bother. The train is similar price, much faster and much more pleasant in all respects. read more

For 3 years i took the tube every weekend down to London. It's quick, cheap and it seems like there is a bus ever 4 minutes! This is the only way to travel to London from Oxford. Stay with the original! Ignore the copy cats :) read more

A great way to travel to and from London, with lower rates if you travel late or return the same day. It's quite comfortable, and people seem more civilised than on the train. The table seats are usually taken by laptop-toting folk, but noise is at a minimum. It's very reliable and runs often, so I barely had to wait 5 minutes at Notting Hill on my way back from dinner with a friend in London. Also advantageous as the bus station is more central than the train station. read more

This bus had the RUDE and PATRONIZING driver I have ever met. He yelled at me for not having my ID out when I boarded the bus. He then had no change for the fare, unlike most bus companies that at least keep some coins. The wifi barely worked. I have had much better luck with the busses run by the Oxford Bus Company (i.e. X90, the Airliner, etc.). read more

The Oxford Tube is a strange mix. The buses are fine, and there are plenty of them, 24/7. But some of the drivers take poor customer care to a new level. I have seen them whistle past stops with people waiting. But tonight I witnessed a new low. Some guy wanted to get on the bus with a violin. It was in a well padded fabric bag to protect it. The driver and his colleague insisted that it had to go in the luggage hold. The man insisted that it was a very expensive violin, and he had carried it on the bus many times before. The drivers insisted that it was 'the law' and they wouldn't let him on. He had to take the bus. When we got on the bus, it was largely empty. The violin could have had 2 seats to itself. Amazing. But it does get you to London and back, relatively cheaply and conveniently. read more

X90 Oxford Bus Drivers are still some of the worst Drivers on the A40/M40 at any one time. Experienced it once again today, between 5.00 pm and 5.15 pm, the Driver of Bus Reg. No. KF61OXF was racing along the A40 and then the M4, weaving in and out of lanes and dangerously cutting off other road users, although he did not get further than a few yards than the rest of us, which had to put up with the same amount of heavy traffic, without endangering other road users. I witness bad Drivers on X90 Buses almost daily. read more

On Wednesday 30 September 2015, I boarded the 11am Oxford Tube bus (approximate time) at Gloucester Green for London. After disembarking at Notting Hill Gate, I realised that I had dropped my wallet. I returned to the Notting Hill Gate stop and waited for the next bus. When it came I explained my predicament to the driver, who immediately called ahead to the bus driver of the bus I was on. To my great relief the driver said he was just being handed my wallet as the two drivers were talking. The second driver took me to Victoria station where the first driver was and who handed me my wallet. I offered some of the money in my wallet as a token of my thanks but the drivers politely refused. This brought tears to my eyes as I walked away; not because of the amount of money involved or the value of the other things, but sheer relief. Being a Pacific islander in one of the largest metropolises in the world, with no money, credit/debit cards and not knowing anyone is a daunting and a frightening scenario for anyone. I would like to thank those drivers who saved me that day from a lot of anguish, I say Vinaka vakalevu (Thank you very much in my language). Your honesty, your respect for the property and your dedication to your company in the form of exemplary customer service will be a matter of much retelling when I go home. I recommend your service to intending travellers and I wish you all very well in your line of work. read more
