Birrarung Marr has certainly become the place to be when it comes to pop ups / festivals
Melbourne Croquet Club is the latest in a list that includes the super successful Night Noodle Markets.
Drinks by 5 Seeds & Heineken are supported by selections from Gelato Messina, Mr Claws, Meatmother, Miss Chu, St Ali and DOC. Plenty of table seating, most with shade umbrellas, this is a perfect spot for summer drinks, people watching & even to check out a bit of croquet if that's your thing!
There was lines at most of the food joints - Mr Claws was the only one without a line - but I'm guessing that was more about the price ($12 for a small brioche lobster roll) than quality - because the buttermilk roll was delish! Ciders were $10/$9 (stubby/can)
There's a DJ playing some good tunes, but it was waaaay too loud, which made it hard to hear each other, so try and maybe not sit so close to the stage. (Although I've been able to hear it at home across the road on flinders st too!)
Fun Fact - Gelato Messina are serving pre-made sundaes in a soup tin. A FRIGGING SOUP TIN!! (Besides being super cool, means there's none of the queues they had at the night market or in store!) read more
