This new(ish) location is clean inside but a bit smaller and cramped than I was expecting. They have a walk-up order kiosk set up like Wawa for their Royal Farms chicken with several options where it's made fresh as soon as you order. Nice touch. They also had some ready to grab and go in a warmer with a few other pastries and food items by the line. Lots of drinks and other gas station finds were available but the aisles were small and it was more cramped inside than I expected. It was OK but nothing special. It's on the rural route to Cape Charles and other towns along the Eastern Shore so there isn't much here - having this addition is nice. read more

Never been to a Royal Farms before. They are conveniently located right at the entrance/exit to Kiptopeke State Park. They offer everything a regular gas station/7-11 would offer, then add pre-made fried chicken and wedges, also a touch pad like Sheetz, to order subs and breakfast and the like. I got coffee this morning near 0700. I glanced at the fried chicken. It looked off color. Not crispy fried deep brown color. I wouldn't eat it, personally. I also didn't need to use the restroom and that's good because they were shutdown due to some type of "backup" I heard them say. Coffee was ok. It was all touch screen. Pretty neat. I'll have to try the Royal Farms in Opal. Closest one to my house, I believe. read more

Restrooms out of service so they have a sign up the front door to use porta potties outside. The porta potties were horrendous! They have not emptied them for at least a week or more. The outside trash was overfilled and two of the employees inside the store just chatting inside. I wonder how clean their kitchen is ah? read more

Not good isn't even close the worst rating I would give this place. First there is trash everywhere outside. Then the bathrooms are so gross it shouldn't even be acceptable. Don't even try to order food. I waited 25 minutes for one breakfast wrap and never got it due to them skipping my number and not caring. If you are headed towards OBX skip this stop and wait until Morris Farm market which is just another hour from this piece of shit store. read more

I stopped here for a refuel, some hot beverages and restroom use. When I entered I found the warm wood floors inviting! Haha very farm like;) , the place is well lit and spacious to the left you find a huge self serve coffee bar w/ some bar seating and charging areas. They also have an ATM and fair selection of to go items with some quick grab and go items like ready-made sandwiches and salads as well as smoothies. Then The highlight of the stores you have dead center the touchscreen ordering for their world famous chicken and fresh kitchen. The screens are very much like those you've seen in other places like a Quick Chek or Wawa where you can pretty much pre-order and customize your order. So overall a good stop for anytime and great for late night visits. read more

This place looks fairly new and was the only thing in the immediate area. Everything else around this place is just the natural beauty of mother nature. The outside of the place was very clean and was also quite busy. There is a gas station on the premises as well. This place is located a few miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (CBBT) and is the last food stop before embarking on the CBBT. Once you come in, you will see the food counter in front of you with touch screens for ordering. The check out area is immediately to the right once entering from the front of the place (there is parking and an exit out back as well). Throughout the place you will find all of the common staples you would find in a convenience store. The restrooms are located on the same side as the check out area. You just need to go past where the check out line is. The reason for the stop was not due to gas, but rather to get something quick to eat since we hadn't had anything since breakfast that morning before leaving New Jersey for home. Since we just wanted something small, we ended up getting a hot dog with cheese and onions. The ordering area was quite busy and they were backed up in completing orders since there was only one person back there doing the cooking and such. You go and pay for the food right after you order, as it has to be paid before you can pick it up. Normally, you would think it would be done fairly quickly, but it actually took over 10 minutes to get our order due to the backlog and being understaffed. Once we got the hot dogs, we sat down at one of the tables that they had there and consumed the hot dog. The hot dog in general was good, but it was definitely overcooked on the ends of it. I doubt that would be the normal case, but it was in this instance. Overall, I think this is a fairly new place still working out unexpected kinks in the process. There's always a bit of a learning curve for any new business location, as they may not have expected the crowd that was in there that day. Some may have stopped in to get off the road for a bit since it was a very rainy day. With time, patience and energy, I think this place will get better over time. If I was going this route again in the future, I would stop here again. read more

Stopped in here for a drink and sandwich after loading up camper. Ordered two sandwiches and young woman behind the counter kept calling our number over and over but never made our meal. Literallt called our number 6 times "just to see if we were really still there." She finally proceeded to ca me a f-- b---h to her co worker. When i raised my voice she told the manager i qas getti g smart with her and wouldnt let me speak. The manager tried to defuse the situation but to no avail. Avoid this place unless you enjoy being cussed out and taunted by those behind the counter. She should have been fired on the spot. She fhen went on to say loudly "im sick of these customers supposed to be right all the time." Oh my! read more

Zero stars and will never go back! Wallops Island Royal Farms employee bullied me in front of all the other customers and employees after I asked why she wasn't wearing a mask. This was the second time I'd stopped by that store and seen her without a mask. The staff then made my order last...waited until all the other customers left before they did my order 35 minutes later. I took a picture of the woman with no mask to report noncompliance. True story: While at a Royal farms Me at 1020pm: ordered a simple white toast with butter NO one else at counter Employee: 10 mins later puts one slice in a toaster, then puts butter in a tray , places butter in microwave then takes it out and said" well this didn't work" retries, melts the butter and let's it drip on the 1 slice of bread and gets ready to wrap it up Me: ummm excuse me but shouldn't buttered toast be like a sandwich? He looks at his screen and says oh yeah your right. ---This is not over yet------- Gets the other piece of bread, toasts it and places some of the melted butter on it also then wraps both pieces of breads separately and hands it to me and very proudly said. Here you go sir. I was so dumfounded that I couldn't even say anything to him except looked over to my wife and said. Did this really just happen. read more

Repeatedly, this place has the filthiest bathrooms (both female & male). The staff is horribly rude. We stop here often when we cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, but today will be the last time. The woman at the register did not great us even when I said good morning, just grunted and her body language made us feel we were a total bother to her. When I went to pick up my egg & sausage breakfast wrap, it felt cold. I questioned why it felt cold, and I was told the contents are hot. I asked if the could please warm it for me and it was grabbed out of my hand by someone behind the cook counter, and placed in the convection oven with the wrapper still on. I was made to feel I was a nuisance. All and all the 5 female employees all seemed to have a chip on their shoulders. We will never support this Royal Farms again. Who ever owns this franchise needs to go in under a disguise and observe the disservice your employees are doing you and your business. Get rid of these horrible women and start a clean slate and while you are at it, clean your bathrooms hourly.. read more

I wish I could give zero. There was NO cold bottled water in any size, which I would have been more than willing to overlook if the staff seemed to care. There was feces all over the commode in the bathroom, no toilet paper in either of the stalls, no soap to wash your hands. There was an employee in uniform that we asked for toilet paper and all she said was "I don't work here" oooook. Another patron asked her son to get some from the men's room. I know every one is short staffed with covid but with no soap in the restroom I watched an employee come out of the restroom and come back to her station. Never again! I understand delays but the customer service was TERRIBLE. the staff clearly didn't want to be there and it showed in the way they spoke to customers. read more

So lazy the squeegees are filthy and there's not even water there to wash your windshield. Avoid if possible. Food is over cooked.

Just spent over $50 getting some gas, but the bathroom was out of order. Unacceptable!!!
