I highly recommend this place. The online booking was very quick and easy. I booked the Big Horn canyon run for my wife and I. The moment we pulled up to the hangar, we were greeted by the pilot and staff with smiles and great attitudes. The safety brief and check-in is smooth and very well explained. We went straight the aircraft and secured inside. The pilot explained his start-up procedures and we were in the air in no time. The tour was better than described online. The flight was amazing. The pilot was very competent, which was evident during mountain wind gusts. The tour did not it feel rushed at all. I'm absolutely at a loss for words. Anything I can say will pail in comparison to the actual experience. Our pilot/tour guide Eli was a talented pilot, knowledgeable resource and a hell of a guy overall. I can not stress enough to anyone thinking about stopping by here to absolutely do it. Go for the longest ride that you can, take photos and videos, ask questions and enjoy the ride. The ground staff, can't recall her name, was excellent as well. Having taken a drive down from Denver of over two hours, I would do this again in a heartbeat. Friendly staff and an excellent pilot who is very knowledgeable about the area. He know the history and geology of what he is taking you to see and everything in between. This place is awesome, they were able to get us inside the helicopter within 10 minutes of us walking in there and asking about a ride. The helicopter is super cool and has windows all on the sides as well so your view is never obstructed. The views and the experience were great but what really made it awesome for us was the pilot! He was super informative on the area and everything we were seeing, very talkative as well making the ride a lot more enjoyable for us! We had a bad experience in Ouray with a lame tour guide so this man really blew us away, you can tell he loves and enjoys his job :) read more

While on vacation in Colorado my daughter and granddaughter decided to take the helicopter tour. There was only one run ahead of them so the wait was less than 15 minutes. Staff was very friendly, explained everything and even took pictures of them inside the helicopter. They both loved it, beautiful views, fun ride! They would do it again anytime. Well worth the time and cost if you are considering it. You may want to call ahead and make sure they are running if the weather forecast is iffy. read more

Better than the zipline experience. I would definitely go back and choose another of their tours. You can take pics, take videos etc. The staff were accomodating and the pilot was very informative. FYI the zipline requirement is between 100lbs to 245lbs. The tour can accomodate better than these numbers. We flew this morning and the weather was fantastic. read more

Their office returns my calls and emails very promptly, and we are treated very courteously and professionally at the time of the flight. What an amazing experience! The staff are very knowledgeable and accommodating, we had to reschedule our original appointment due to high winds and there was no issue. I'd highly suggest the tour over the Royal Gorge, absolutely beautiful views. It is a little expensive, but for me it was a once in a lifetime experience and well worth it. The only reason it's a 4 instead of a 5 is because it was a little expensive for two people for as short of a ride as it was. All else was good. read more

Amazing! Mike, the pilot, earned his training in Vietnam as a fighter pilot, and showed his skills with drops and sharp turns. It was so much fun. And the views were beautiful. At more than $10/minute, it is pricey but worth it for a once in a lifetime experience. I recommend sitting in the very front (no cameras allowed here) or in the back facing the front of the helicopter. The seats facing the rear of the helicopter require a lot of twisting and turning to see the views. read more

Chartered a helicopter for some ariel photographs of the Arkansas River. Although the experience of hovering above the gorge in a helicopter is unlike anything else, this particular experience was a lot to be desired. The flight itself lasted a mere 10 minutes from take off to landing and cost over $420 BUCKS!! We were told by Will, the pilot, that he needed to get back for another meeting. The biggest mistake I made; telling them I was a photographer. They honed in and immediately charged double. Yes the ride is smooth, yes you're in a helicopter, yes the landscape is breathtaking; but my review comes down to whether to use Royal Gorge Helitours again... I say, keep looking. read more

We just completed our Royal Gorge Canyon Run Helitours, and I must say. It was one of the most thrilling and beautiful experiences we've ever had the pleasure of doing. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. If you have the option I would recommend asking to take the doors off the chopper. It adds so much to the experience, but it can get chilly. We bought the video with our tour and had it mounted on the nose of the chopper. Great quality video, and we will be able to relive that experience forever. read more
