Not much to look at from the outside but inside this pub is a clean and inviting interior with lots of nice couches and seating for dining or drinking ( I guess - I was there on my lunch break so couldn't explore that side of things ). What enticed me to come here was there bistro menu. They offer a wide range of lunch specials from 12pm- 5pm ranging from $10-$15. I opted for the sirloin steak which was $15. It came with roast potatoes and a side of slaw. The service from the bar was good and the food didn't take too long in coming out. The steak was done the way I liked it and was a decent portion size. The roast potatoes were tasty but a little bit too salty. The slaw was perfect and went well as a combo. This place is definitely a great option if your in the area around lunch time. They also do evening specials like $12 pizza or chicken schnitzel, all depending on the night it is. I will be back again because I would like to try some other options from the menu and the place is clean and inviting with the food brought to your table which is a plus for a pub.

Nice pub that lacks a little character and coziness inside. The front bar is exactly as you would expect front bars to be but the back bar is a little different. The bistro collides with the larger, fairly stark seating/drinking lounge area to form a room that can get pretty noisy when busy on a Thursday and Friday nights. The beer garden is hidden away but the best spot for a drink in the entire hotel. Staff are always very good and attentive with a nice rotation of interesting beers on tap. The new bistro menu is good and they've now got better pub food as well as the higher end fancier options. It's a decent pub. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Only giving 2 stars based on the food. Because the actual atmosphere and the pub is quite nice. I had the buttermilk chicken burger.. It lacked flavor and was quite greasy. I have also had the rump steak which was fairly average at best. But I must say I do enjoy there pizzas! Definitely would order another pizza.

Rude and unfriendly staff. Never say "sit down" to your customer, we are not your dog.

Still, for a pub on Oxford Street it wasn't all that busy, which I didn't mind, but then again it isn't located down the 'business' end of Oxford street. The place was quite nice though, and it is a good place for a quiet beer and to relax.

The gorgeous courtyard boasts (in a non-showy/non-obnoxious way) a beautiful fountain and an inviting pool encased by a splendid tall wall. The stetting is reminiscent (to me) of all thing ancient Rome and goddess like. Our twin room cost $144 a night (during the week) and I reckon it was an absolute bargain. Some, shall we say, interesting art adorned one of the walls....see attached pic to see what I mean. The heavy mustard curtains kept all morning light out and made for a cozy night's sleep. We even had a dimmer in the room, alluring and romantic could be two words I'd use to describe the dimmed night light. Except I was staying there with my sister. But the dimmer was still a fun novelty. They always are. Complimentary muffins made us smile as we trotted out the door towards Sydney adventures and the $15 a pop buffet breakfast was worth every precious penny. I look forward to my next stay at Arts Hotel. I hope it's not too far off....

Rather than going to the trouble of hosting at someone's house, cooking and cleaning, we decided to have our dinner here as they offer a whole roasted pork with sides and everything for $350! We booked far in advance for a Saturday dinner but they only had either the Friday night or Saturday afternoon (boy it's popular!). So we decided to do the Saturday at 12:30, but for some reason they said they couldn't guarantee us a table and we should just come at 12 to try and get a seat. Anyways, we showed up and there was a table reserved for us. We ordered drinks at the bar and the bar staff was somewhat friendly, some were nicer than others. The manager came out and let us know that they'd need about 15-20 minutes to get everything ready. The pork came out and it was yummy. Could have done with more crackling but can't complain. Came with some potatoes, carrots, pumpkin and onions. Overall was pretty good, but it wasn't a huge portion. For $350, roughly 30 bucks a person, you'd expect to be stuffed. I think everyone was satisfied but maybe left a bit hungry? Overall, a cool pub with good drinks. I really like the Pink Lady Apple Cider.

The beans/lentils that came with it was nice Food took a while to come out Service wise while staff was attentive but our mains took a while to come out My wife loved it but I was expecting more

Basically it is what you would call a pokies venue, though they also have a sports bar, but then again they seem to pretty much go hand in hand at times. Honestly, I didn't particularly like it, probably because I prefer your typical inner city pub. Also, there wasn't a huge range of beers on tap either, so that sort of put me off as well.

The double room was very clean and modern, decorated in a grey and white palette and the same would-be Boticelli painting motif that adorns other parts of the boutique hotel. As part of the Crown Hotel, which is primarily a nice pub downstairs, you just don't get the same service that you would at a dedicated hotel venue. On arrival, it was the bar manger who let us into our room, and he clearly didn't have any time to be answering to our every need. If you're after somewhere to stay in town that's different, affordable and close to Sydney's nightlife - it's a quick walk to a huge selection of bars and restaurants in Surry Hills - but don't come expecting a deluxe getaway experience.
