The coast line is lovely. There is also a very interesting rock hill with two entrances. One ended abruptly when we walked in. I followed the other in for a short distance until a small streamed stopped my progress.

GoT Location - but much more than that!…read more Be sure to visit this place if you are anywhere near it. Of course, since GoT this place has gotten hugely popular. But even if you are not familiar with GoT you definitely have to see this place and its surrounding area. A small road leads you down to a parking lot right next to the harbour. A parking lot which is way too small for all the visitors. We managed to get a spot quickly anyways. Parking is free. If you don't want to take a chance, then there are some spotsjust before the village, all you need to do then is to walk down. The harbour itself is already nice and very picturesque. In the series it's the Iron Islands, where Theon comes home. There is even a plate with some information about it at the harbour. There's a small restaurant too, which was very busy. I believe they are happy that this place became so popular. The day we went - it was a sunday - there were some fishermen with their boats at the harbour. A great chance to buy some freshly caught fish for little money. We bought five fish....all it cost was 3£!! The landscape is very fascinating with interesting rock formations. But most visitors just check out the harbour, take pics and leave. Be sure to spend more time here. Just to the west there is a small cave. And a bit further a trail starts along the shore which goes on for miles. It's a fantastic walk with great views. Every step here in this amazing landscape is worth seeing and worth checking out. There are surprisingly few visitors. A good chance too to let your dog run free. Ours loved it! It's a very atmsopheric landscape full of character. We enjoyed it a lot....a lot more than the Causeway. It's still an almost untouched piece of nature. It's easy to see why the filmmakers chose this place. Wee tip is to take the tour of the site it is very bumpy but it's really interesting to see and hear about the farm and its history!

Cost for a combined activities (ie soft play/Turbo Tours 4D film/ Treasure Fortress) family ticket could have been a little better than it was, and it would have been good to have been warned before hand that some activities in the Fortress were not working properly as it spoiled or enjoyment a bit when we discovered this for ourselves).One major gripe was, if a bit lacking in seating and also supervision from staff (yes, I know parents/carers are responsible for their own kids, but I still think there should also be an adequate staff presence and that they should rotate around areas regularly so as not to become bored/complacent in their duties). Oh and just remembered another gripe. Children had to leave the area the soft play was in and go across the main entrance/foyer area of the centre to access the toilets - not ideal. Also, after paying at the main reception, there wasn't actually any control system at the combined entrance/exit to the play area and anyone, children or adults, could come or go as they please - very, very, risky! That said, with a bit more attention to these safety/security issues, this could be an excellent place. Food available on site, some gift shops, and other activities all add to its plus points. Well worth taking the climb up the tower for lovely views from the top too.

Some run alongside the river, under cover of trees, others across open ground. A few picnic tables benches are provided by the car park itself, but it would benefit from a few more tables/benches and benches only (ie for sitting and relaxing), at other points in the park. The play area is good, albeit on the small side, but if the weather is fine, we usually take along our own equipment for wide games eg balls, bats, frisbees etc., as there are some good, open green areas suitable for getting the family involved in some fun, active games.

Nice beach - just park on it…read more This is a lovely, long and wide stretch of sand. No need to look for a parking lot, since you can park ON the beach. Some people here are fishing, some are surfing and some (like us) just enjoy the scenery. Be aware that the western side (from the car entrance) is not pet-friendly, while the eastern side is. Also from here you can get a good look at the Mussenden Temple (featured in GoT also). This beach here was a filming location for GoT - Dragonstone, where the Seven Idols of Westeros were burned. We did arrive here quite late and wished we would have had more time to enjoy this very laid-back beach. There were surprisingly few visitors that day. Not sure it's always like that though.

The course is so beautiful, so scenic, she never got bored. The other great thing is you can play the Championship-level course. They offered the opportunity to play the course 4 days after the tourney, and with championship tees for £190. Awesome. I wished we had stayed longer, as you can get a whole week in the summer for £150. Fall and spring is £90 and winter is £60. Since it only gets into the mid 40s in the winter, I'll be back. Also, the Club did a great job with the Irish Open. The links course was immaculate and held up in the wind and the constant drizzle of rain.

That's because it's one of the…read morelongest and most beautiful beaches you've ever seen and because of the extensive sand dunes. It's also one of the dwindling number of north coast beaches to retain its blue flag status so if you don't fancy paddling in a weak sewage solution then choose this beach for your summer days out. This is my favourite thing about Portstewart Strand - you can drive your car on and park for the day. So no having to lug your pic nic, towels, buckets and spades from the car to the beach. Just open the car door and let it all fall out. If anyone gets cold or tired, they can just jump in the car and snuggle down for a while. You have to pay for what is definitely a privilege - just £4.50 to drive on and park for the day and if you go off season when the facilities are closed, you don't have to pay at all. I for one have no problem paying the National Trust £4.50 to park in a truly spectacular car park. So, the facilities - what exactly is there? Probably the best facilities I have seen at a beach anywhere in Northern Ireland. Clean toilets, showers and first aiders, as well as a shop where you can but sweets and drinks and last minutes buckets and spades. Join the National Trust, and I have promised myself I will this summer, and you can drive onto the beach as many times as you want without having to pay.
