This restaurant is decorated with hilariously tacky oriental motifs; I visited with a friend from…read moreChina and she said you'd never see such overdone decor over there. In any case, the food was good and a welcome relief for an Asian palate after weeks of travel in meat-cheese-and-potato-heavy regions of Europe. The menu has a wide range of dishes. The service was decent but as is the norm in Chinese restaurants, if you need something you may be better off waving at your waitress rather than politely waiting for her to come to your table. There are other Asian options in Annecy; this restaurant was very authentic and well-priced, and probably the best strictly Chinese food in town.

Le Peking is rather old fashion Chinese restaurant. This kind of Chinese restaurant is rare and…read moreonly exist in small foreign cities outside urban areas. If you are craving for Chinese food, there is not much choices in Annecy. The simple dishes like stir fry noodles with bean sprout 芽菜仔炒麵, and house fry rice 揚州炒飯 are done fairly well. However, the roast duck and the sizzling beef are dissapointed. The roast duck is overwhelmed with watery sauce, which they can make a soup out of it. The sizzling stir fry beef to me is only a gimmic than anything else. Overall, the service is great The portion of each dish is smaller than I expected. In terms of quality, and presentation, this restaurant will have a hard time competing in modern urban city like Paris, Vancouver, London, and Toronto. However, because it is locations around Annecy you don't really have much other similar choice around here.

Yelp Review 2026 #156:…read more I wanted some Chinese food and Fai Wong came up highly-rated. It's only a 3-5-minute walk from the hotel I was staying at so, I had all green flags to come here. The exterior and interior were intricately designed. It looked promising. Dinner time in Switzerland is 6-8pm. We got here at 6:10pm and the place was empty. Uh oh, that's not a good sign. They don't have old school menus. You have to scan the QR code to view their menu and I absolutely hate that. The service was good. Food came out 15 minutes after placing our order. Spicy Spare Ribs: When you see "spicy" on the menu in Switzerland, don't believe it. Portion is small but it's tasty. 4/5 Beef Noodle Soup: This tastes just like the instant noodles I used to eat when I was 6-10 years old when I didn't know how to cook so I ate instant noodles for survival while my mom got dinner ready. Instead of bok choy, they use cabbage. Instead of big chunks of beef, they use thin slices of beef you typically see in beef with broccoli and combination fried rice or noodles. 2/5 Dim Sum: There are 4 pieces. One shrimp, one veggie, one chicken, and one pork. It was ok 3/5. I like washing my hands before eating. You have to go outside and go inside like an apartment building to access their bathroom. It's not dirty but not the cleanest either. I really should have paid attention to where the reviews came from because this was not over 4 stars quality.

But the food remains good, and always a nice option among the other Chinese restaurants in the area. Also good that they open late, to midnight on most nights.

For the weird time, it was still pretty crowded. Vietnamese spring rolls - tasted like they left it in the fryer for a tad too long Salt and pepper fried squid - the flavor was okay, but it wasn't really that crispy. This had the opposite problem of the spring rolls. Chicken and salted fish fried rice - very little salted fish. In fact, I'm not sure there was even any in there because I didn't really taste the salted fish. It was pretty much just chicken fried rice, which wasn't bad. Beef with vegetables - pretty standard. The portions are small (at least compared to NYC) but with the amount we ordered, it was enough for two people. We had some leftovers. So if you are doing family style and have a large group, you might want to order a bit more. I'm not sure how many other Chinese restaurants are in town but I'm thinking there has to be a better one somewhere. Basic food aside, the atmosphere is kind of shady. Apparently there's a gambling machine in the back by the restroom, with shady dudes hanging around by it and smoking cigarettes. Maybe takeout and bringing it back to the hotel would have been a better option.
