In fact, it is one of the best Thai take-out restaurants in London. The menu is simple: you choose the sauce (chili, garlic, green curry, red curry, black bean, etc), the protein (salmon, chicken, beef, tofu, etc.) and the starch (rice or noodles). For less than a 5er you a steaming plate of goodness that is made fresh in front of you. They will even serve you on plates to eat on picnic tables nearby. I love that the chili sauce is actually spicy, the Tom Yum soup has terrifically fresh veggies and even if there is a line your food will be ready in under 5 minutes. The Laughing Buddha is only open on weekdays from 11:30 - 2:30, at which point it is boarded up and left as a best kept secret until lunch the next day.

I just wanted to clarify a few points that were raised above but not fully discussed: 1) This restaurant does NOT serve any alcohol at all. Consequently, they do allow you to bring your own wine (which is great for saving money). So be sure to stop into one of the local shops on your way there and buy a bottle of wine. 2) Space is VERY limited. The restaurant is basically the dining room of an old house that's been converted into a restaurant. So it can get very crowded. Be sure to call first and make a reservation. I've seen people waiting outside this place for 30-40 minutes to get a table otherwise, and the first thing the waiter asks to in-coming customers is "Do you have a reservation?" And it can get crowded on week-days as well as weekends.
