Sometimes, just sometimes, you have a craving for Thai food. For me it comes few and far between…read morekind of like indian food, maybe it's to do with curries or something, I don't know okay. But when that little craving comes along and bites me on the bum, I want good thai food. I don't want mediocre tastes kind of like thai but is really chinese food, I want thai. I'm not a big fan of driving far for takeaway so when Thai Mountain opened around the corner from me, I thought, let's go try that one. First impressions, oh, it's right next to the daycare I didn't want my kids to go to (not a reflection on the restaurant, just a fact) second impressions were 'wow, the waitresses are dressed up in traditional thai attire'... pretty impressive so far and I haven't even sat down yet. Thirdly, the place isn't that big, it's pretty small, so it's pretty hard squeezing a pram in there... as my husband and 2 kids found out. One of our traditions with thai restaurants is that we always order the Pad Thai... because it's the easiest judge of whether or not the place is a phony or the real thing. I was super impressed. They used fresh ingredients and the even had the chewy see through flat rice noodles... awesoooommmmee! The menu is pricey but a little bit posh. It's great for your Thai craving if you ever get one, and you are never let down. Try the Beef with cashew stirfry as well, they put something in the sauce that makes you want to lick the plate, but don't, that's not cool in a posh restaurant. I had to tell my husband that a few times, but then I tasted it and just try and stop me. I used a spoon though. So for the western suburbs, it's better than most, and when you get up to pay, they always have a fancy pants little floral decoration masterpiece by the counter, except it's made of carrot, or cabbage, or some vegetable - that's very Master Chef too.

I often wonder what inspires the names of some restaurants. "Thai On Earth"…read more.. Maybe it's best just to ignore the brain. Head straight to the menu. Whenever I have Thai, I order one of two dishes: the Larb Gai, or the Panang Curry (both $12.90). I'm happy to report back that both dishes are done well here. The space is simple and no nonsense. It's clean and functional. The service is fast and friendly. If you're dining in, you'd do well to share dishes (it's more fun this way anyhow!). Thai On Earth is always pumping out take away orders of a night time. Everyone in Auchenflower is sure to have their menu on their fridge door. I'd bet it's the best Thai in the area.

I often drive past this little Thai place thinking to myself, what a great little play on heaven on…read moreearth type name... like all other Thai restaurants. So I decided to give it a try. I always judge a Thai restaurant on the Pad Thai so that's what I got. That and the fish cakes. I'm pleased to say that boy they cook some tasty fish cakes and Pad Thai to boot. It was well sauced, the noodles were well done and they put some filling in the noodles. My friend A ordered the Massuman curry and that too, she said 'mmmmm this is really nice! And look, you can see the potatoes!' Which means she really did quite like the taste of her quaint little curry that she always orders at every single Thai place we've ever gone to. Try something else I always say... but no. Anyway, I'm getting a little off topic here, but to be honest, this place is alright. Worth a try and not enough people go there.

I frequent here a lot as it's local to me, decked out in thai decor and tastes like heaven. People…read morewho eat here look happy all the time- clearly it's the food and gold finishings that perk them up. I get greeted by the same Thai waiter all the time. He hands me the menu's and I waste time pretending I'm reading all the other options, when I know exactly what I came here for. I wait 60 seconds before I call the waiter back. I order the 'Whole Red Snapper with Crunchy Garlic' and 'Thai Green Chicken Curry'. Oh you just can't go wrong- The fish; crispy on the outside, nice and soft in the inside. The curry; extremely tasty, except, I did find it to be a bit too soupy for my liking. But this never stops me from ordering it, I just eat more rice with it. This place is very accommodating for talkative families and for girls-night-out dinners as they have the sound absorbing spongy padding on the ceiling. Now, I wouldn't say you go there and treat the place like a pub and get as loud as you want, I think it's just an extra feature they have to make sure their customers have a pleasant meal with other diners voices absorbed into the ceiling as opposed to echoing about. I encourage anyone who's near Graceville to visit. Make sure you make reservations for Friday and Saturday nights as they usually have limited tables if you go without a booking.

We haven't been here for a couple for years since it closed down over the height of Covid…read more Surprised that it's operating again so we decided to try it and get takeaway. The Prawn Pad Thai was lovely except the prawns were overcooked and tough as boots which spoilt it, my hubby had the Massaman beef and the beef was nice and tender but it had a lot of fat so it wasn't as enjoyable as it used to be. It wasn't busy at all and the meals were ready in a timely manner, so there was no excuse for the prawns being overcooked and dry unless they weren't cooked fresh and were reheated? We assume that this establishment has new owners along with new chefs, however I don't think we will be returning after this experience which is a shame as we really used to love dining here. Plus we were charged a fee/penalty for paying by cash.

Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere. What a great location for any dine in restaurant!…read more The service was pretty awkward. They were very overstaffed, there were 4 girls standing around the front counter chatting the whole time we were there. Our server was anything but friendly. She seemed put off every time I asked a question and was ready to order, I even caught a little eye roll when I needed to make sure there was no milk in my order. To start, we ordered chicken spring rolls. There is a vegetarian option as well! They came out promptly but we're very luke-warm, the pastry was a little bit more white than what I like to see. Decent sweet and sour sauce. I honestly don't remember the name of my dish but it was a spicy noodle dish with rice noodles, chicken, basil, and other veggies. My dad ordered a chicken dish with a red sauce, he said it was "extremely average" but I liked mine a lot! Pricing wasn't bad. I expected it to be a lot more expensive but it was only about $2 more than the average "hole in the wall" Thai restaurant. BYO wine only, no beer as they have beers on the menu. I'll come back again if I'm around, I've been on a big pad Thai binge lately and I'm always up to compare :)
