The rolls we had were pretty good, the spicy agadashi tofu was delicious. Would go back just for that.

Sushi is good and great. But kind of misleading with the all you can eat pictures. It is not an all you can eat restaurant.

this is a bit of a difficult review, because the pandemic has made it so much more difficult for all restaurants to operate. but, we have SO many japanese restaurants in kamloops - that this is NOT one I would return to . the service was OK, the food was OK, and that is as far as it goes. we sat on the patio, as there is NO indoor dining. we shared the Mango Sushi, the Crispy California rolls, and the Tempura . Really just disappointed in the service here. The last three times I've gone it's been over thirty minutes to get our food. The last time we went, no joke it was over one our since we placed our order before I finally approached the waitress to ask what was going on. Constantly seeing take out orders going out was very frustrating. The worst part about it was when I asked when our food was coming they told me it hadn't even been thirty minutes yet. Super disappointed that they would think I'm that stupid. Then fifteen minutes after that, they rushed out a bunch of the wrong things we didn't order. A very awkward and uncomfortable dining experience. Will never bring my business here again. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite. Ordered the chicken yakisoba. I could smell some noodles burning while I was waiting for my food but didn't think too much of it. Yakisoba came, just drenched in oil, 1/8th of an inch thick along the bottom of the dish. The chicken on top was tasty enough, but the noodles were pretty bad. Some of the noodles were cooked alright, some were burnt and crispy. Definitely would not revisit this place. read more

The menu food was not to bad but the 'all you can eat" is very low quality and they have many rules, do not go expecting a true all you can eat the big pieces in the photo? not reality. Customer satisfaction is not a priority with these people, at least the rude staff served warm beer, not going back... My Asian friends will not go to a Japanese restaurant not run by Japanese people, these people are Korean, lesson learned. read more

This place is called "Sushi Royal Tokyo" for those of you who couldn't find the review on Yelp. Trying to get them to approve my edits, but in the meantime.. Coming from Vancity, didn't really have much of an expectation for this place, but it ain't bad. It's open on Sunday until 8pm (most other Asian restaurants are closed Sundays). They're run by Koreans, and they use pretty good quality stuff. Their salmon is the redder type, which I believe is because they are the wild salmon? (to my knowledge, farmed salmon have a faded light orange color). That was a huge plus for me, not to mention their sashimi and other sushi are all great. We had their AYCE, and two things to watch out for: 1. Ask the difference between the light and full AYCE dinner menu; they just gave us a sheet of paper, and we chose whichever we want. Ended up we got the more expensive AYCE, I'm guessing the lighter one probably doesn't have sashimi. Who knows. 2. They didn't tell us about last call. We figured it was about time at 7:40 ish, but turns out they cleaned the kitchen already. If you're having a sushi craving, check this place out. read more

Ugh, I won't be going back here. This restaurant appears to cater to the All You Can Eat crowd. Service was lackluster - slow on the menus and initial drinks, no refill offered on the tea. Food was sloppy and served strangely: my sashimi was presented on a bed of saran wrap (ugh!), lettuce garnishes were past their prime, and the gomae arrived with a huge sloppy glob of sauce smothering a pile of steamed spinach. The atmosphere is also a turn off - a large chalk board states the rules and penalties of the All You Can Eat. I don't write poor reviews often, but I will absolutely not be returning to this restaurant nor recommending it to anyone else. read more

This was by far THE WORST sushi place I have ever been too. I was so disappointed. I needed to get up and ask for drinks after being their for 15 minutes, it was dead. When I needed more water I had to get up, again, and ask for more. The sushi tasted like it was made in chlorine. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone read more

Last second plan for dinner while we were in town for a hockey tournament on New Years eve. Staff was pleasant and efficient and explained the "rules" for ordering all you can eat. ($5 charge for food waste mentioned by others is donated to the food bank each year ). Our large party started ordering and the food started coming. Yes the Nigri was thin and the sashimi was small...but it was fresh and tasty. The tempura was hot and light and the gyoza was exceptional. Try their crazy boy roll for something different. I'd give negative stars if i could!!!!???? This place is an absolute joke. I cannot believe they're even in business. First of all there are more rules than passing security in an airport. We weren't allowed to order food for my 4 year olds even if we offer to pay. The rolls are all rice, no fish. You are permitted to eat 3 pieces of sashimi, which is actually 1 piece cut in thirds. I've never in my entire life seen sushi cut so thin, barely any fish on top at all.. I'm uploading pics to demonstrate the ridiculousness of this restaurant. read more

All you can eat sushi! I really enjoyed this concept. They offer almost everything on the menu in the all you can eat, however the portions are smaller. It's perfect to have a small sampling of many items. I always start with miso soup, edamame, and gyoza. The crazy boy roll is a must! Very delicious. I went here with a couple of friends to try the all you can eat. We ordered the chicken karaage and when we bit into it, it was raw. We sent it back to the kitchen and they gave us a new plate, but at that point we didn't want any so we just asked for our bill. We waited a solid half an hour just for them to bring it to us, and when we brought it to the attention of the manager he did nothing. Service was slow and food was subpar. The 4 of us recently stopped by and had dinner here. We were looking forward to trying this place cause of the semi good reviews. All of us were throughly disappointed. The sushi consisted of large pieces of rice and thinly sliced fish (sliver type) Most of the sushi came this way. Since AYCE was an option here the more sushi we ordered the thinner the fish became. The chef should receive an award because of his skillfulness in cutting such a thin slice of fish to be placed on the rice. I thought you could only cut fish this thin by using a machine. In all my times eating sushi all over the world I have never seen light penetrate fish and make it almost transparent. It was actually that thin ! Definitely not recommended unless you came to eat mostly RICE ! Also mentioning when you order the eel bowl expect a lot of rice with one small piece of eel. read more
