We should have smelled a rat when their rental estimate came in over £100/month higher than the other (more reputable) agent. We were given assurance that the apartment would be rented within 2 weeks and would be snapped up in the current market.... sadly not. The photos taken by the agency were drab and lifeless and key pieces of information were omitted from the description. 6 weeks went by with only two text messages from Fulfords saying that viewings had been arranged. When we phoned them up it transpired that over 13 people had been to view the apartment and that they had (unsurprisingly) thought that it was over-priced, and (even worse) would have accepted a slightly lower rent - at no point did they contact us to say that a reduction of £25-50/month would have resulted in a tenancy. We finally lost patience with their appalling attitude and pushy manner on the phone so took our business elsewhere. Within 2 weeks the apartment was rented out by the other agent with no problems whatsoever; the photos, presentation, advertisements and service provided by the other agency were excellent and their professionalism has gone some way to restoring my confidence in the industry. The nail in the coffin occurred when we attempted to take back the 2 sets of keys from Fulfords..... They could only find one set and, when I insisted that they pay up for the replacement set (or to change the lock on the main door), the agent smugly replied that I couldn't prove that they had taken possession of the keys and where was the 'signed proof' that they had taken 2 sets. I was exasperated that an agent that we had trusted with the care of our flat could be so negligent and careless with its security. Lesson learnt..... please please don't make the same mistake.

Top that off with the warmest welcome, amazing clifftop walks and one of the best beaches in Cornwall, this is a must visit hotel. We went with our kids and felt completely at ease despite their sometimes highspirited antics! There is plenty to do as a family with good play areas and a tennis court outside. We also noted that the hotel offers a lot of different special interest breaks which looked very interesting.

It is in a stunning, beautiful rural location apparently miles from anywhere and has no neighbours apart from rare breed sheep. There are several self catering units on site, one of which is really big, and as it is graded 5 star these are at the top end of the market. The owners go to a lot of trouble to maintain their high standards and look after their guests, and they live on site. It isn't just the scenery that's green, the business is too and guests are strongly encouraged to recycle. Unless you are a walker, you'll need a car to explore the area, which is perhaps not so green, but Honiton station is not so far away so you could go there by rail and hire one locally. Supermarkets deliver despite the long drive - this is self catering after all. There is a small swimming pool and a recreation area.
