Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs - Log Cabin Living Area

It looked like it was once a vibrant destination filled with people enjoying the pools and grounds. Unfortunately, it appears the property has been allowed to deteriorate over the years. Our RV site included full hookups (water, sewer, and electricity), which was appreciated, but the gravel sites were uneven and could use some maintenance. There are also very few trees, so there is little to no shade. In July, the direct sun makes the RV park quite hot. One of the main reasons we chose to stay here was to enjoy the hot springs. The facility includes a large indoor pool, a very large outdoor pool, a cold plunge pool, a hot soaking pool, and a large swimming pool heated by the hot springs to a very comfortable temperature. We were especially looking forward to relaxing in the hot pools after dinner before turning in for the night. However, at 8:00 p.m. everyone staying in the RV park was required to leave the pool area. We were told that only guests staying in the cabins have 24-hour access to the pools. Considering we paid around $80 for a full-hookup RV site, it was very disappointing to learn that we could not enjoy the hot springs in the evening. That policy significantly reduced the value of our stay. The on-site bar and restaurant are closed Monday through Wednesday due to staffing shortages, which we understand, but it's something future visitors should be aware of. We also heard there is excellent fishing in the nearby lake, although the mosquitoes were extremely bad during our visit. Overall, Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs has a lot of potential and still offers some enjoyable amenities, but the property needs maintenance, and the limited pool access for RV guests was a major disappointment. If evening access to the hot springs is important to you, be aware that it's currently reserved for cabin guests only.

Very nice water, indoor and out. Helpful staff, everyone is pleasant. I have been there a dozen…read moretimes. A few things I don't understand. 1. They have two huge industrial exhaust fans that create so much noise its difficult to hold a conversation at that end of the pool. It's not peaceful. It sounds about as loud as an airline flight. Way more decibels than you realize. The pool area sounds like an industrial warehouse. Why could they not position the fans outside, away from the building, drawing the ventilation quietly? 2. The locker rooms. C'mon guys! They are vintage 1960 -70. The locks don't work. Spider webs on the windows. Kinda funky.
