Adam worked 7 days straight to remove the old tired landscape to up date. He reused several plants (saving costs) and worked them into the design. I can't wait to the spring to see the colors!

I…read morehired waybrandt last spring to landscape my front yard and to enlarge and improve the small pond in my backyard including the installation of a fountain that was a wedding gift from my husband who had died the year before. They assured me that they would enlarge and deepen the pond and install the fountain. They did dig the pond a little deeper, sunk the fountain pedestal base below the bottom of the pond and installed the fountain however, they left four to five feet of rubber liner under the landscape plants and mulch so my pond is much smaller than I was promised and the fountain has never done more than dribble water because the way they installed it pinches the hose. They also filled the bottom of the pond with bowling ball sized rocks which made it shallower and eliminated the ability of anyone safely maintaining the pond. At first they promised to fix the fountain, they came out once and left with it still dribbling and blowing the hose off the pump because of the pressure. I had to climb across the rocks in the pond to attempt to get it working with no luck. They kept promising to come and never showed. Finally in the fall I got a message saying they would have to charge me to drill out the fountain base to fix it. I did not agree since the installation was incorrect. They stopped responding altogether and though I tried again this spring, they once again said they would come out and didn't show. Since I am getting no responses again I guess I'm going to have to go to small claims court to try to get this resolved. I honestly believe they just bit off more than they could chew and I can understand that but they need to show the integrity they promised and do the right thing here.

Hired April 2025 -- unresolved as of January 2026. The project involved residential interior and…read moreexterior work and was time-sensitive due to environmental and animal-safety considerations. I was satisfied with the quality of the work, but the project was not completed. The larger issues were timeliness, follow-through, communication, and billing transparency. Communication became increasingly unresponsive, and eventually the contractor stopped communicating with me directly, routing communication through his wife instead, which led to confusion about prior agreements. By late October 2025, the project remained unfinished. I was later told the business was prioritizing other types of jobs, something that had never been communicated upfront. I ultimately terminated the project in November 2025. A final walkthrough was never conducted before billing. I raised questions about specific invoice items multiple times over several months but did not receive explanations. Concerns that were raised were not addressed, and responsibility for unresolved issues was not acknowledged. In several instances, issues I raised were attributed to my expectations rather than addressed as deviations from the agreed scope or as workmanship concerns. Payment discussions were directed to a third party rather than handled directly with me, which I was not comfortable with, and I was unexpectedly told there was an unpaid balance after being informed a reduced payment would settle the account. I was also later told--after the fact--that the job was being worked on only in the contractor's "free time," which was never disclosed and would have affected my decision to hire them. Taken together, the lack of response to my questions and the use of third-party communication instead of direct contact ultimately damaged the process and made the experience feel dismissive and disrespectful. Additionally, a late-fee policy was introduced retroactively nearly three months after invoicing and had not been disclosed in advance or listed on the invoice. I paid the balance aside from the disputed portion in an effort to move toward closure. Based on my experience, I would not hire this business again. If you choose to work with them, I recommend confirming that scope, timelines, communication expectations, and billing terms are clearly documented in writing from the outset.

Their prices are competitive and their work crews have always been highly professional, friendly and willing to do the extras. They do a number of things of which entail landscape design, planting, weed control, trees, patio pavers and more. We've always been pleased with their service and we Highly recommend their work!

We paid a lot of money for an awful landscape job. They did not prepare the ground with adequate…read moreamounts of dirt we paid for. You can't even put a shovel in the flower beds before you hit rocks and clay. Many of the plants have died. They came back and dug up all the plants and put fresh dirt in the small holes they dug around the plants. However, trying to fix this after the fact, when the grounds weren't prepared right in the first place, did not work. All the plants should have been removed and the ground prepared correctly. The owner told me the person from her company that did our job was no longer with them. I was shocked when I heard this since our job was VERY expensive and I thought she would adequately manage it. The fact that her foreman was no longer with them did not help us after the fact. It would have helped if during our job she would have come by to check on what her foreman was doing. In addition, the initial design document she created, (and charges a lot for) had shade plants under a tree that would not be big enough to supply shade for 20 years. Her son even commented when they came back to dig everything up, "that tree won't supply shade for 20 years", as he pulled out all the dead ferns and shade plants under it. They pulled out so many dead plants and replaced them the different plants that design document was no longer valid. We should have been refunded for her bad design. The owner knew coming in that our soil was clay and we were near wetlands but promised that she could make it "beautiful". They even dug up the big pine trees they previously planted to add adequate soil under them (something that should have been done in the first place). Some of the pine trees are now dying. We spent so much money for our landscaping and it looks horrible and many of the plants look horrible or are dead this spring. They even had to dig up sod in the front and put soil under it because it was so uneven. Worse of all, we have water coming into our basement and found out it is because Karleen's crew DID NOT FOLLOW CODE WHEN THEY INSTALLED THE PATIO. Brighton Township code says that the patio should be 5" under the door. As you can see from this photo, it is flush with the door. You do not have to pull a permit on a brick paver patio because it is not considered a permanent structure but LD&A SHOULD KNOW WHAT CODE IS! When it rains heavily we get water in the basement. Basically, the whole patio will need to be torn out and brought up to code. Also, they put a rock (pictured here) to close to the house and it is funneling water directly down on the side of the house. It should be funneling the water AWAY from the house. BAD DESIGN. Wanted to warn others!!! This company charges top dollar but the results are awful and they do not monitor their jobs properly. They ALSO DO NOT FOLLOW CODE!
