The gentleman that answered was kind and gave me a time estimate, apologizing for the long wait, as we were approaching the early evening hours. Then I got another update saying 12-46 minutes, and I figured, yeah, that sounds more realistic. But let me tell you--Sean 2.0 showed up in exactly 12 minutes. Exactly the first ETA. He jumped my car, got the battery started, and was done in just a few minutes. Quick, professional, and efficient. I have never, ever, ever received roadside assistance this fast. Beware of predatory towing practices!…read more After my car was hit at a truck stop while I was sleeping in my small 5x10 camper trailer, the tow truck driver loaded my car onto his rollback. Then I was told my insurance (Geico) only covered the car. My options? Leave my camper (with all of my belongings) behind or pay an "up-charge" to have it hauled on the back hitch of the truck. Stranded 10 hours from home with no way to move my camper, I had no real choice. The driver hooked it up in less than 2 minutes. We drove about 10 miles to a shop, and only then did he demand $468 before he would unhook my camper. I had to call his "boss," hand over my credit card number, and pay on the spot or they would not release my property. The receipt? $450 for the tow plus an $18 "convenience fee" -- on top of whatever Geico was already paying them to tow my car. This was nothing short of extortion. They exploited someone in a vulnerable position, held my camper hostage, and charged nearly $500 for less than 10 minutes of work. If this happens to you, know your rights and don't let them bully you. This was a total rip-off and people need to know just how crooked these tactics are.
