I enrolled my son to driving school thinking they will…read moreteach him how to drive because i myself did not feel confortable after paying 300 dollars he attended a full month and took his writting exam and passed. We were told he needed to watch a two hour video and for us to teach him the basics of driving, before he can actually schedule driving lessons with them . If i would had known that i would had save me 300 dollars and teach him myself. Anyways after finding the time from school and work to actually teach him we go back to casares to ask about scheduling and we are told our contract is almost over ( days to be exact) and we would have to pay 15 dollars for every day we schedule driving lessons. Mind you none of this was told to us before. No one informed us we were sopposed to be logging in hours online. So please if you decide to go to this place please get all your information before spending so much money . Im out 300 dollars that i could had saved if i would had known i had to teach my son first. Do your research with other driving schools around the area, i was informed there is places where they will teach them how to drive if they dont know anything.

For teens (14-17), we offer a 46-hour course. We spend 32 hours in the classroom, and 14 hours of in-car instruction (7 hours of driving, 7 hours of observing). We have calm, patient instructors who know how to help teens feel secure as they learn the basics of driving. I needed to learn to drive my truck with hand controls. There were no options in the Corpus Christi…read morearea. My best bet was in Mission, Texas. I knew very little about the Valley area nor knew what to expect. I was pleased all the way around, especially with RST. They knew I had to drive a long way to see them. They accommodated me at every turn. My instructor was very professional while being caring. They charge by the hour. However, my lessons usually went into overtime (without added charge). Mrs. Gonzalez set up my appointment with DMV. I did not have enough ID to get my license. I tried to get it when I got home only to find out I needed a behind the wheel test. I had passed the test with the school. DMV told me I also had to test with them. The catch was it had to be in a car with hand controls. You cannot rent a car with hand controls nor have them installed without the proper license. Catch 22. I called Mrs. Gonzalez. She told me that if I could return to Mission, I could use the car I took my lessons in. I had to go to Edinburg for the test. She went with me. She saw to it that everything was taken care of. When it was all over (I passed), she wouldn't let me pay her for her time. She said that since I had to make two trips it was the least she could do for me. Without RST and Mrs. Gonzalez, it would not have happened. I am now able to experience the independence I have missed for several years. I was more than pleased with RST and Mrs. Gonzalez.

Very low level of professionalism. Lacking good faith in dealing. Situations arise requiring you…read moreto pay more than the agreed upon amount in order to complete contracted work. Signed my daughter up for driving classes online, and the 30 hours in car driving. Online classes were not a big deal...my daughter signed on, read the assignment for the day, took a quick quiz sometimes, then logged off...no interaction with a teacher or an other employee at all. Not a good sign, but not really a big deal. The in car driving experience was another matter. We were told to log on to they're website on Thursday for available driving times during the next week. The first Thursday, we logged on at the exact time when drives were supposed to be posted. THREE, I repeat, THREE driving times were available for the next week. Three for the entire week...not three per day, Three for the entire week. This must have been a fluke, so let it pass and proceeded to the next week. Again, THREE total driving times were available for the next week. This happened for an entire month. They had only THREE driving times available every week. The driving schedule was like this: Monday - 2:00PM to 4:00PM Tuesday - 2:00PM to 4:00PM Thursday - 2:00PM to 4:00PM I was unable to get out of work before 5:00, so I had specifically asked when I signed my daughter up for the class if they would have in car drives after 5:00 or on the weekends. I was told a definite yes...both evening drive times and weekend drive times would be available...no hesitation or thought put into in...simply yes. As shown above, this turned out not to be true. I went into the office to see what was going on...maybe someone was sick? Maybe someone was on vacation? Maybe I could work something out in person. Sure enough, I was able to work out something in person. I was told that I could be penciled in for an extra $15.00 dollars for each driving time. This would have bumped my $300.00 fee for a class and driving time package up to $405.00. I'm never a big fan of a lack of good faith in the people that I am dealing with. So I asked to withdraw my daughter at the point she was at without doing any driving time. I could sign her up with another school. I didn't ask for my money back because the money is really not an issue for me. I was not offered my money back when I said I wanted to transfer her. Instead, I was told that in order for them to release her paperwork to me, I would need to pay them another $50.00. At that point, I dropped all dealings with Cazares Defensive Driving School, and will never deal with them in any other way.
