We went back and forth discussing different paver options, styles, layout ideas, and pricing. After several site visits, we agreed on a final scope and signed agreement. Once the work finally began and the trees/shrubs were already removed, Francisco stopped the project and told me I would now need to pay an additional $1,000 because the patio would require a step. He claimed this made it a "different project." As a homeowner, I relied on the contractor's expertise. I clearly explained what I wanted from the beginning, and Francisco had visited the site multiple times before agreeing to the price. If a step was required, that should have been identified during the estimating and planning process -- not after demolition had already started. When I pushed back, I was told he could simply "put the trees back and refund the money." While I did receive a refund, I was ultimately left with removed landscaping, dead trees sitting in my garden bed, and no patio project completed. The most frustrating part was that everything had already been discussed, measured, signed, and agreed upon beforehand. Overall, the experience felt very unprofessional and poorly planned.

I told Ken what I wanted and he said he could turn our property into the envy of the neighborhood. I was skeptical at first. I needed flowers and shrubs. The side and rear of the house were just ugly dirt and gravel. I wanted a side patio of pavers and rear walkway to cover up the dirt and gravel on the sides of the house. A walkway from the rear walkway to the rear deck. There was a shed with a cement walkway that had to be removed. This was no small task. They tore down the shed and cement walkway and cleared out and leveled out the rear yard. They had to remove over 20 yards of dirt and rocks. They had to move a small tree from the middle of the yard to the corner. They planted new flowers and shrubs with existing ones put down new sod . Then install all the hardscape. It was quite a task. When it finally was finished I couldn't believe it was the same property. Now when buyers come to see the house the first thing they look at is the beautiful new yard. He made a few suggestions for upgrades around our yard. Both backyard and front walkway. After going to the nursery that they deal with that same very day, we placed our order. Replacing two centennial hollies with black mulch was a start. Followed by 3 hostas by our walkway. Also added a small knock out bush (rose) , along with one smallish gold mop by the front corner. It took the 4 guys a tad over an hour to get everything planted. Prices are reasonable. Expect to wait a few weeks for your work to be completed. This is a local business in the area of South River/Sayreville/South Amboy NJ. Thanks for bringing back our yard.

I contacted them around 3:30 PM on Sunday just ahead of a major blizzard forecast. They answered the phone immediately and were honest about having limited availability. Rather than overpromising, they explained their schedule constraints and asked that I submit the property details online so they could review and try to fit it in. By 5:37 PM the same day, they had responded to the online request -- during what was clearly a very, very busy pre-storm window. They confirmed they would have made every effort to fit both properties into their schedule. I ended up securing another company slightly earlier due to the urgency of the situation, but I genuinely appreciated MTM's responsiveness, professionalism, and straightforward communication. Coordinating snow removal from afar for family during a severe, dangerous storm is stressful, and their willingness to help mattered. Based on my interaction, I would absolutely consider using them in the future, and I would recommend others do as well.
