Dr Rubeo is horrible I had my first baby via c section 7 years ago. He was very unpleasant and an horribe person to say the least. For years I thought about how horrible my experience was with him and was afraid to have another baby. I had a baby a year ago via c section and we discovered Dr Rubeo didn't properly close my c section which was very negligent on his part. I had constant throbbing pain and numbness for 6 years and had no idea why and now I know run very far from him. read more

I have only good things to say about Dr. Rubeo and his staff. From the moment I found out that I was pregnant up to my last follow up appointment after delivery, they were professional, kind, and treated me with respect. The receptionist, Suki, is always on top of things and never fails to call me the day prior to remind me of my appointment. I once hung up on her when she called to announce the sex of my baby because I was crying so hard (tears of joy of course) and I feel bad about it to this day. I am pregnant with my first child and was excited to meet with Dr. Rubeo after reading all of the reviews. The office staff is great and the office is clean. The first visit was fine. I am under the care of a cardiologist due to hypertension and i'm prescribed medication that is safe to take during pregnancy. Dr. Rubeo said he would prefer that I stop taking medication all together or switch to another one. I was open to considering it and agreed to speak to my cardiologist. After speaking to my cardiologist i decided i would rather stay on my current medication. Fast forward to today's appointment. Sonogram was great, tech was very nice. Baby is healthy. Met with Dr. Rubeo and brought up the medication. I was trying to explain that my cardiologist recommended that i continue with the med's and how i was weary to come off it . Mind you my BP at the doctor today was 150/90 ON MEDS. He was rude and stated "well is your cardiologist going to deliver the baby" and "if you don't want to do this my way then i'm not the doctor for you." I have no problem having a dialog with you but i don't need a dictator as a doctor. It doesn't inspire confidence in me. I'm glad this happened now rather than much later and have located another doctor. TL:DR- if you have an opinion opposed to Dr. Rubeo he will break up with you. My first visit was today with Dr Rubeo and his staff. Very kind, caring an professional. I just now read through some of the reviews and was so surprised to see some of the negative things written about the office and the staff. SO i had to write a review to share my glowing experience. When I made my appointment, the receptionist Suki was kind enough to tell me that i could download the new patient form online and fill them out in advance to save time. Being my first visit i was a little nervous, as this kind of Dr is very personal. In the office Dr Rubeo was very polite and we sat in his office first to discuss my history before going in to the exam room for the exam. He and his nurse explained what to expect. and were quick and efficient. Suki was very polite and caring and busy. Phones ringing off the hook and she was still nice enough to give me written instruction for my next appointment and hand write a note on there to remind me what i needed. She was very nice. The nurse was also very nice as was Dr Rubeo. His experience is one of the reasons I chose him when I searched my insurance to find a doctor nearby that accepted my insurance. That's right, he's on call 24/7 for deliveries or for whenever his patients need him. He isn't just knowledgeable, he is caring and compassionate. Dr.Rubeo and his team came highly recommended by my best-friend and it was the best decision we ever made . Not only is he extremely knowledgeable but he just tells it like it is . I literally would call him for everything and anything at anytime, even after hrs. They always ensured to explain our Baby Girl's progress and were extremely patient with me when I had 1 million questions . And last but not least the lovely Michelle who assisted me with my gestational diabetes . She explained what it meant , gave me great advice and ensured that I knew exactly how to use my glucose meter . She was extremely honest and very knowledgeable when it came to informing me about my condition . This is just the place to be when pregnant . Upon arrival the wait time if there is any is close to nothing. The appointment scheduling is a breeze and I never had to wait extra time for my next Appt . They worked around my boyfriend and I schedules and did I mention that they are open on Saturdays . The facility is very cozy, organized and very clean . Our Baby girl Lucy was born on June 1st 2019 at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville NY and Dr.Rubeo along with RN Kristine assisted with the labor . It's been a month since I've delivered my baby with Dr.Rubeo and my whole pregnancy journey with him and his staff was great! I see on here people speak about how "bland" his personality is but that's just the way he speaks and is, if you can get past that you will have an amazing doctor who is very straight forward with you and if you ask me I prefer a straight forward doctor than one that is going to sweeten up everything they say to you. All my questions no matter how silly they were got answered ( as a first time mom you literally ask everything) and I also got to see my baby in 3D at his office it was incredible! Dr. Rubeo delivered our baby this past March and we couldn't have asked for better care throughout the whole process! Staff at the office are always polite and helpful. Very accommodating with appointment times and scheduling. Veronica the nurse is very caring, pleasant, and informative. Dr Rubio is the only doctor you want in the delivery room when it's time for your precious baby to come into this world. His office is conveniently located and easy to get to. The office is well kept and quiet. I love the fact that you are seen at the time you are scheduled to be seen. If it's at 9:00 am , you are seen at 9:00 am. The staff is very professional and friendly. They take time to answer questions that might be silly from a first time parent , so that is much appreciated. His style is unique when compared to other doctors , but I wouldn't expect my Doctor to be a comedian. His experience and his calm demeanor alone deserve for you to give him a chance. He will be our delivery doctor for as long as we are in the area. We had a great experience overall with our first born and that is due in great part because of Dr Rubio and his staff. read more

What happened to patient care? I was seeing this doctor for the first time at 8 months after moving from another state. All I wanted was to make sure that my baby is healthy as I missed a month of appointment due to my new job and the big move. My husband booked this appointment before traveling back to our previous state to attend to important matters. 1. The doctor starts by saying he only delivers to this hospital BEFORE even asking how's my pregnancy, BEFORE even giving time to know me and my circumstances. 2. The doctor spent a lot of time grilling me for multiple miscarriages which were not under my control and I never felt so judged in my entire life. He spent a great deal of a time getting my past history, and again, NEVER bothered about my chief complaint other than the prenatal check. FYI, I was obviously swollen all over and been having symptoms but obviously those were NOT the doctor's nor the NP's concerns in this part of the visit. What happened to HPI (History of Present Illness) when your focus becomes the past history? 3. He asked for an ultrasound BEFORE doing a physical exam? Who does a doppler check to listen to your baby's heartbeat AFTER a normal ultrasound? Obviously, I have seen my baby's pumping heart and listened to her heartbeat by ultrasound BEFORE he did the doppler. 4. The nurse asked me if I wanted to pee AFTER the ultrasound. One would normally ask for a urine sample BEFORE anything else and BEFORE a third trimester ultrasound. 5. Who does vital signs RIGHT BEFORE the visit ends? By the way, vital signs here only include blood pressure and weight check for a first timer third trimester patient. The nurse did not even bother to ask for my prepregnancy weight. She inflated-deflated the pumping bulb several times, which made me think there was something wrong. Later she asked me if I had issues with my blood pressure previously. I said no. Then she blurted a BP value that was within normal. I was really skeptical about it. But then I did not really care what they wanted to do or say because I felt I was just another patient. No care. No compassion. None whatsoever of what you want to expect from this clinic. The only good thing that happened during this visit was having to see my baby doing fine by ultrasound. The rudest reception staff I have ever encountered in all my years. Unbelievable. Each time we phoned it was unbearable. Even the "manager" is insufferable. I called just to "inquire" if an appointment was available. They went ahead and made an appointment without my OK and then sent me months of "no-show", cancelled appointment bills. I had to contact my company-sponsored Health Advocate to get the charges dropped. The billing system is antiquated. They do not accept health cards or credit cards. You have to pay out-of-pocket even if you have insurance and then get reimbursed by your insurance company. Too much hassle. Too old-fashioned. read more

Sharing my experience in the hopes other women will read and know they have a great OBGYN option in Bronxville. I found Dr. Rubeo after a quick Google search, looking for an OB close to home and accepting my insurance. I really didn't pay much mind to any reviews (in full disclosure... didn't even read any) because I've never really had great luck with GYN's in the past and figured they're all essentially the same. Well, that couldn't be farther from the truth. Let me tell you first about the office staff first... you'll likely encounter Suki at the front desk... she's shy and quiet but kind and always accommodating. After a few visits, she definitely warms up and gives a big smile when you walk in. Michelle is always buzzing in the back, answering calls, pulling files and dealing with patient requests. She's a 'get-er-done' kind of gal and I always appreciated that about her. Veronica, the nurse that assisted Dr. Rubeo and always took my weight, blood pressure and blood work, is absolutely the warmest and friendliest nurse I've ever encountered. She always made me feel at ease and comfortable. If you are pregnant and seeing their sonogram tech, she's also incredibly warm and kind and talks you through each sonogram to keep you at ease (never could tell what i was looking at, but she explained every minute). If you're still reading this, here's where I'll tell you my experience with Dr. Rubeo. He's a unique character and it takes a few visits to understand and relate to him. I'm telling you this so you don't make the mistake of seeing him once and thinking he has a strange bedside manner and switching to a different doctor. I had been married for two years, age 38 and trying to conceive when I met Dr. Rubeo. He never made me feel like I was attempting the impossible. Even when I'd been trying for over 9 months with no success, Dr. Rubeo never once gave me reason to believe I would not conceive without intervention. When I finally did conceive (after 16 months of trying), Dr. Rubeo kept me informed of any risks and my chances of carrying to full term, always talked me down from the ledge when I feared something might be wrong and basically made me feel super normal and ordinary. That might sound negative, but it absolutely is not. When you're starring down the barrel of 40 and pregnant with your first child, ordinary and normal is exactly what keeps you sane and positive. At the end of it all, my worries and fears were always calmed, my time was always respected and I always felt in control and properly cared for. My birth experience was no different. Dr. Rubeo appeared at the hospital with the same even keeled temperament, making me feel like this is normal course of business and everything would be just fine. He took control of the labor room, worked quickly and efficiently and made the entire experience a super positive one for me. To my surprise, a gentle and caring bedside manner finally emerged when he came to visit me in recovery. I was extremely emotional and Dr. Rubeo took the time to sit with me and listen to my emotional rant (clearly under the influence of postpartum hormones) and provide some words of wisdom to make me feel much better. I've never had a better Doctor/Patient experience and I highly recommend any woman looking for good old fashioned medical excellence to consider Dr. Rubeo. I found him extremely rude, impersonal, cold and not helpful at all. I went in there while having some issues and barelyaddressed any questions or concerns I had. I had a condition and instead of talking to me he slammed down cards in front of my face of another doctor. He was not comforting or helpful whatsoever, I was really baffled. I was really concerned and instead of helping me he rushed me out of his office. I really can't believe this guy gets away with treating his patients like this.Thankfully, I found another gynecologist from my mother. I will never go back to him. Besides the fact he is a man I think I prefer a female gynecologist --- but the fact he was so rude and impersonal that Will be I will NEVER return. Dr. Rubeos office is like a breath of fresh air. His hours are very convenient for a second time and working mom. The office staff is always very friendly and very professional. I had been going to Dr. Rubeo's for YEARS. I thought he would deliver my children. BOY WAS I WRONG! He and his office are ok if you agree with them but if you don't, they get very rude and unprofessional. When I simply refused to get an pap smear/pelvic exam annually, which is HIS recommendation and not the USPSTF, ACOG, and the American Cancer Society who all state that for my age group every THREE years is recommended. When I brought this to their attention, it was met with more hostility and unprofessional behavior. When someone put me on hold, I overheard them say "why are we giving her such a hard time"? When I finally got to speak to Dr. Rubeo, he was VERY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL and refused to give me medication for a medical condition he diagnosed. Dr. Rubeo is comparable to Benjamin Stein in that Clear Eyes "dry red eye" commercial back from 1997. He has ZERO personality, zero bedside manner and has no compassion for patients. I have no idea how he's been in this profession for this long. His staff is okay but they are exactly like him with no personality. He made me feel like I had no idea what I was talking about on more than one occasion when I was the one on the phone with my insurance company daily, not him. I went in for an appointment for what I thought was going to just be routine blood work and he whipped out a device to listen for a fetal heartbeat. I had no idea this was happening and nobody discussed with me that I would be hearing a heartbeat for the first time alone without my husband. He also discusses personal information with patients in his office WITH THE DOOR WIDE OPEN. I heard an entire conversation he was having with one of his patients in his office about very personal issues she had going on. I sat there with my mouth wide open...totally a HIPPA violation and just doesn't make you feel comfortable being there. I had some unfortunate circumstances occur and I never once got any sympathy or an "I'm sorry" from Dr. Rubeo or any of his staff, he just tossed birth control at me. read more

I do not know where to being with this doctors office. For one this is my first pregnancy, so I thought the doctor would be a bite more enthusiastic but he was very bland. I know he sees pregnancy woman everyday but the least you could of said was congratulations!!..... ok I overlooked that maybe he had a bad day. My second appointment I heard my baby`s heartbeat, this was a very touching moment for me, the doctor asked if I was ready for this because if I wanted to change my mind now would be the time ( WHO SAYS THAT!!!!!!). After that second appointment I stared looking for another doctor`s office. I went to pick up my medical records after having a hard time over the phone to have them faxed to me, the receptionist was rude! and wanted to charge me for picking up the records. After this I began getting billed left right and center ( charges which made no sense) so far nothing the doctors office has said to me over the phone shows on the bill they sent to my home so I refuse to pay until things add up. The billing person I believe is Michelle she is very rude I have tried getting a hold of her for several weeks by phone and could not, she doesn't allow you to speak or get a word in at all, she even went as far as to mention "aren't you glade your not here anymore" ..... After bouncing from dr to dr, I finally found a "home" at Dr. Rubeo's office. Dr. Rubeo and his nursing and office staff have always been warm, welcoming and accommodating. He delivered both of my children. Both he, his nurse (Veronica), the office manager (Michelle) and the staff walked me step by step through everything from medical tests/procedures to insurance/billing. I appreciate that they always remember me, my children and even other family members who attend appointments with me. I have found them to be nothing but professional and caring.
