Whatever roadblocks get thrown into your way, she plows through and *makes it happen*. Any wedding planner working during Covid has to roll with the punches, but Jamie humored us through a few different revisions to the criteria for venue selection, a couple curveballs once we finally found a place we liked (in the middle of nowhere, with no dishwasher on site!), and so many, many harebrained ideas that she helped us filter out or make real. Creative -- delightfully. Organized -- incredibly. Communicative -- consistently (even when she had to chase us down because we were distracted ). Adaptable -- stupendously. Pragmatic -- appropriately. Some of the planners we met early in the process felt like they'd plan a beautiful event, but one that aligned with *their* aesthetic and needs (or a particular trend's), rather than ours. The second casual "picnic" was arguably more complex despite its deceptively simple appearance due to Jamie having to transform a raw empty space into an event venue. The first day of our wedding went without a hitch. It was shocking how Jamie somehow made herself blend in with the rest of the crowd, yet was everywhere at once to conduct the event. ALL of our vendors complimented me (really, her) that she was the most professional, responsive, and organized planner they had ever worked with. She was so thorough - without Jamie, we are sure that we would have missed many small details that, while they wouldn't have messed up our wedding, made our day all the more presentable and comfortable. The second day (picnic) of our wedding was interesting. It was the day California experienced not any rain, but the crescendo into the historic "bomb cyclone" the following day. Days before our picnic, we had to scrap almost all of our original plan because our venue would have been flooded (and it was indeed underwater by our picnic day). We still don't know how Jamie pulled this off but she managed to transform our alternate venue (an empty cabin) into a spectacular indoor picnic spot. She had to re-do the furniture order and the layout. It worked. And that is without a doubt where I would have completely fallen apart without having Mango Muse. We are so grateful. At best, this was a lack of organization that left us surprised at the altar. Specifically, we removed "for the first time" when Reverend Rich would introduce us as "Mr. and Mrs." We had explained to Reverend Rich that because of covid, we had already been legally married for a year and I had been going by my new last name since then. So, it was not "for the first time" that I was "Mrs.". Some of our less close guests were left confused, and my husband and I had to hide our frustration at the end of the ceremony. Reverend Rich was also aware that we did not need to be legally wed (since again, we had already been legally married for a year at that point), as we discussed not having a marriage license for him to sign. 2b) He also had added "let's do that again" after my husband and I kissed. It wasn't clear if we were supposed to kiss again (which we did), or if the audience didn't clap loud enough to his opinion. The possibility of the latter left us somewhat embarrassed. We found Carol - the sweetest, caring reverend who added so many ornate intricate details to the ceremony and made it extra special for all guests. ** THE LEAD UP ** Carol spent time getting to know us personally, something not all officiants do. She also gave us homework that made us feel vulnerable with each other, and that made us feel closer together.
