Dirty Dick is a very fun French take on a tiki bar in the middle of Paris' Montmartre area. It was good, but I'd say it wasn't crazy strong. My wife got the Miami Vice Negroni and we both thought it was meh. Being as you're in Montmartre, there are plenty of bars to visit. I'd definitely make Dirty Dick a spot to visit if you're doing a crawl.

I ordered the painkiller my first time around and it was perfection! The atmosphere of tiki music, Caribbean-inspired artwork and leis and tiki shields adorning the walls transported me to a beach in the Bahamas for a few minutes. We knew we had to come back our last night and did so! I ordered the Miami Vice Negroni and it was a complex drink. I still can't determine if I liked it or didn't. I got different sweet and bitter notes each sip. My husband got the extra grog strength drink and it was a hit! Do yourself a favor and come here! You won't regret the slight deviation from wine and champagne and enjoy the reprieve!

There's very little pomp or show here, and you could easily pass it by if no one has brought seating outside. It houses a dozen little tables with rickety chairs and the walls are covered in old posters and dark, faded mirrors. Settle in and order a pitcher of sangria from the gruff french gentleman behind the bar. I always end up getting a size that is far too large and end up leaving the bar much more wobbly than I arrived. It is a delicious mix though, filled with deeply stained fruit that has probably seen the inside of the barrel longer than you've been in Paris. As you sit and enjoy the stronger-than-you-think sangria, enjoy the ambiance of this place. Mostly locals (very few tourists here most of the times I've gone) enjoying their evening while sipping on the same delicious concoction that you've ordered. The jukebox is always playing different genres of music and will change from night to night depending on the clientele. If you are lucky enough to grab a table outside, enjoy the sunset on a quiet side street in the center of Paris. Each seating arrangement offers its own enjoyment and I strongly recommend coming a few times to really experience the place. Or at the very least, come order a large pitcher and wobble out to the next bar a happier person.

Walking down a dark alley at midnight in Paris is nothing like the movie...but it's worth it to…read morefind this little gem! Way cool place - and let me tell you why: First, this is an after hours club so you can't even get in until midnight at the earliest. That means you need staying power to party into the wee hours of the morning. The upstairs lounge is well lit, decorated with a few TV monitors and some seats that line the walls. When I arrived it was fun to converse with the bartender - really cool for Americans who like to booze it up. The BEST part is the downstairs catacombs. Not only are the walls dark brick and cold but they are totally old school with arched doorways! Then you throw in some colored lights, smoke machine and loud music and it's a party! I don't usually like gay bars that are too dark and loud but this one has great personality so I highly recommend it! There is a lot of space to move around and there are multiple bars and tables set up in the basement. It's easy to get lost in this crypt-like place but that's what makes it exciting! Lots of nooks to hide in and make out ;-) Also, I found the drinks to be decent but nothing great. C'mon - if it's already late you don't need the most delicious drink known to man, just something that will keep the buzz going and the beer goggles on. While a bit pricey this still is Paris so be prepared with lots of cash. I would for sure stop by this place again and enjoy the new people, fun basement and cool bartenders. Not to be missed! After all - two Richards can't be wrong.

What a great find!…read more This bar doesn't look like much from the outisde but once you walk in, its super cool and full of character. The bar staff was extremely friendly and educated us on the history of the bar. Both bartenders spoke english and were from United States. It was explained to us that Lulu White was a brothel madam, that was concidered to have more power than the mayor of New Orleans during the late 1800s. Her brothel contained a "Blue Book" that allowed patrons to chose their companion via photos. The Lulu White bar, took this concept and allows you to chose your drink according to the individuals photographed in the "Blue book". We were told the individuals listed in the book change about every 6 months but the Lulu White drinks remains constant. I tried the Lulu White: Altos Anejo Tequila, Plymouth Gin, Genepi, Absentroux, and Cardamon noir. It came in a elegant beautiful glass and It tasted like a dry martini with a licorice flavor from the absinthe. This was definitley a drink you sip on to enjoy. The décor of the bar, resembled historical New Orleans with its dim lighting and elegant décor and half moon booth seating. This was a great surprise, and I recomment anyone to stop by and check it out!

Still a strong mix of anglophones but locals seem to balance out the crowd. Fairly priced cocktails. Not sure if the ensemble is there every weekend, but they made a great trio. I'd visit when/if in Pigalle again.
