I am filing this complaint against Dolbier Disaster Restoration (DDR ) for reasons that are listed…read morebelow. These events occurred while they were repairing our roof. A large tree limb fell onto our roof. It created holes in the shingles, sheeting and decking. The damages were covered by our home owner's insurance policy. The insurance adjuster allowed for replacing the shingles and sheeting on the entire roof and to repair the damaged decking. DDR was selected to do the repairs, they were provided with the adjusters' scope of damages--replace the entire roof and repair decking. I used the following terms to identify my view of the structure of a roof. Shingles are on top of the roof, sheeting goes between the shingles and the decking, we had two layers of sheeting, felt and titanium, decking are 4x8 sheets of wood that are attached to the rafters. The roof that was struck by the limb and authorized for repairs was one entire side of a gable roof. I happened to climb on to the roof and observed the roofers as they were working. This is what I observed-- 1. Approximately 1/3rd of the roof had been removed. The roofers were in the process of replacing this part of the roof. The balance of the roof was untouched. DDR was authorized by the insurance adjuster and myself to replace the entire roof. They arbitrarily opted to only do 1/3rd of the roof. Why would DDR replace 1/3rd when they were requested and authorized to replace the entire roof ? 2. I observed that the roofers were in the process of laying down felt paper. They were rolling the felt over a large hole. The hole was very noticeable- it was about six inches wide. A visual inspection showed the hole was also in the decking. The titanium was not present. It was very clear that the workers were going to cover the hole and not repair the decking. There were other holes in the roof. They had already covered these holes with the felt paper. There was no material on the roof to repair holes. It seems reasonable to assume that the other holes were not repaired-they were covered with felt. Later I found on the ground the piece of titanium paper that cover the hole, apparently the roofer cut it off and threw it over the side. It has a large tear where that the limb made I have this piece of titanium. I contacted DDR and advised them of this situation. A few days later a different crew arrived. They properly replaced and repaired the entire roof. A frightening thought --Without proper roof repairs, rain would continue to entered our home year after year. We all can envision the consequence of the damages this would have cause to our home. Thank goodness my 78-year-old body gave me the strength to climb onto the roof. I do wonder if this happened to a person unable to climb onto the roof, or assumes the repairing company would do what the insurance company felt necessary to properly repair their roof. Can you imagine what their life would be like when these defects was discovered ??? FYI, I've been in the property casualty and risk management insurance for over 40 years. My first job was a claims adjuster. I've worked with very honorable professionals. It is very difficult for me to imagine that companies can provide this type of service and walk away leaving the homeowner in a pickle while there were fully compensated. Thanks for taking time to review this matter. Regards, Tim Cummings, CPCU

We utilized your services on 08/13/19 order #175216 for our master bedroom and they upsold us to spend $400 instead of what we originally wanted done, but ok, we're suckers, I guess. That left our floors looking dull and dry and stripped. So, we contacted SS and they send the same guys out on 0817/19, order #175467 to do something, which honestly, it did work. We noticed what looked like water drops in our living room where the guys had gone through to get to our bedroom as explained above and that weekend, I did my usual cleaning by sweeping and I had intented to mop to get up those dried water spots on my hardwoods....except they wont' come up! I've gotten down on my hands and knees trying to scrub, but nothing is working! So, we report this to the Gastonia location who has refused to come back out to rectify this situation. Something about it had to be the same guys, Brian the "Manager" said. What a crock?!? You didn't clean up your mess and now I'm stuck with this until YOU are available? Now, it's been 3 weeks and I'm LIVID! NO............I don't want the same guys back at my home EVER! NO....I'm not going to take time off of work to meet you! We have been MORE THAN PATIENT WITH YOU PEOPLE! I honestly can't understand why I'm reaching out YET AGAIN for you to fix what you've done! Brian? Do NOT call me! IF ANYONE ACTUALLY DOES CARE, it had better be a District Manager or someone higher who actually gives a crap. I spent $400 for 1 room and ya'll can't get it right?!? I'm blasting on Facebook, Yelp, everywhere because this is crazy and I've had it!
