However, when I arrived, I was told that the stylist I was booked with had already gone home, and no one else was available to do my hair. I was given the option to either reschedule or pay the difference for another stylist--which felt incredibly unfair, especially since I had prepaid through Groupon and had taken the day off for this appointment. What made things worse was how frequently Groupon was mentioned in a negative way during the interaction. It was very alarming how openly the staff expressed their dislike for customers who used Groupon, even though the salon is the one offering these deals. It made the experience feel unwelcoming and almost like Groupon customers were being treated as second-class clients. Whether this is a tactic to get people in the door and then upsell them, I don't know--but the lack of professionalism and courtesy was disappointing. A simple heads-up before my appointment would have saved me time and frustration. I would caution others to confirm directly with the salon and be aware of how Groupon customers may be treated.

Devin is so warm and friendly, and she did some things to my hair that no other stylist has done and explained to my why she did the things she did. She took her time with me and we really got to know each other on my first sitting! Seeing that she totally knew what she was doing, I scheduled a hair color appointment for the next month. My hair color appointment took 6.5 hours, which is usually normal considering I have thick course black and teal hair trying to go to coral. She seriously gave me all of her attention and even bought me dinner because I was there for so long! In the end, it turned out way better than I could have imagined. The color is so vivid and matched the photo I showed her to a T. She even took some extra time to walk me through how she does the beachy waves because I'm incapable of doing anything stylish with my hair. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

I did on my FB page for friends as we discussed this and the main comment was, "They should pay you double for what it'll cost to not only fix this but the damage your hair will probably incur in the process." Thanks for not only doing a terrible job but making it sound like I'm the problem. After I sent her the pictures, the owner called me several hours later and said the pictures were "unclear" and that she's not refunding me the money and if I want to take it further I can (?). I told her that's fine, I didn't authorize to be charged without the promise of a redo and had I known I wouldn't get a refund if they couldn't fulfill their promise, I wouldn't have paid. She told me okay, to come by the salon right then so she can "run fingers through the hair" and I said sure! She hung up the phone on me. My husband called her back and nicely said the same thing: that he's sitting right next to me and it does look terrible at the top and that we can come as she recommended. To which she replied, "let me ask you, are you a color expert? no? then your opinion doesn't matter to me. Do not come here, I don't want to see you near here. If you file a dispute I'll take you to small claims court." We were shocked that it got so out of control. To further the insanity, half an hour later we get a call from our local police! The owner showed up there to have them call us to not show up! We asked the police what is going on and explained the situation - that we never threatened them nor said anything to even make it sound like we were going to be there. The police officer just said that we didn't do anything wrong and that he just had to call because they came there but there's nothing to be done. Yes, me at 9 months pregnant and my husband on our way with our toddler to visit my parents' house were going to do something to the salon? This was THE most crazy situation we've ever dealt with...

Even if I found a stylist there I liked and asked for her every time I went, they would never remember how they cut my hair from time to time. I was walking by Fusion one day and decided to give it a try. I have been going there ever since. The haircuts are very good, they remember exactly how they cut my hair from time to time, ask how I like the haircut and if there is anything they can change about it. While decidedly more expensive than the discount hair salons, the results are definitely worth the price.
