I can only comment on the cave tour portion of the park, but they have a fair bit of other attractions there too. Overall the cave tour was fun and informative, the guide giving a pretty thorough but concise history on various parts of the cave as you go through it. The main tour of the cave is about $20+ for two people and takes about an hour to go through. They also offer a more advanced version where you get some protective gear and crawl through smaller passages off the main ones (assuming you fit through the ~1'x2' test spot). I would come back here to do the advanced tour someday. read more

If you have never been in a cave before, or if you have kids with you, this is a great option of a nice, short introduction to a cave. There is only one steep portion of stairs, which my brother and I thought could be a little tricky for some people, but overall, the tours are led by teenagers and they don't make you wear protective hats or anything, which is what I have done in other caves in the past. But coming through her you do learn a little bit about the area and how the cave was discovered. There are stalactites and stalagmites in every room and there is even an area with the tallest chimney in the cave which is known as their wedding chapel! Yup, I guess they have had a total for 7 or so weddings here, so if that is your dream wedding, this place is set up to do it and has done it before! It is very cool inside, the moment you enter the cave (which btw is entered directly from their giftshop, which made it seem not quite as authentic....) and they have lights in certain spots to highlight the high points of the tour. Now if you want to take this tour to the next level, and my brother was way too scared to even think about this, Rushmore Cave just started offering spelunking tours! Yup, you can go here and actually crawl on your belly for miles through this tunnel, at some points over a mile stretch on your belly doing an army crawl!! I don't think I'm conditioned for that, but I'm pretty positive that that tour is a little more entertaining than the normal one ha ha read more

This was my first visit inside of a cave, however I hear there are tons all over that are more incredible than this one. I was a little dissapointed in the lack of "stopping points" to really sit and take everything in. We stopped perhaps four times to learn small bits of information about the room we were in or the column formation over there. One larger room with stalactites, a few cool ceiling formations...Be prepared for lots and lots of steps, I noticed a few small children had difficulty navigating the steep stairs down.. A good "time-filler" but I wouldn't recommend going here. They do have a secondary "adventure" tour that includes very tight spaces,.athletic shoes, jeans, and you must fit through a small box 8 in.1/2 x 22 in. to be included on this 5 person tour. There is no going back, you are on your belly most all the time and the tour is 1 1/2 hours long. Might be a better choice, didn't hear much about it though. read more

This place is less than a 15 minute drive from Mount Rushmore Memorial. I came here because my friend and I were looking to walk through a cave that was close to Mount Rushmore since we were on a time constraint. We had our mind set on doing the cave tour and the Eagle Zip line, how could you go wrong with $20 for both. The cave tour was pretty cool it is a little chilly in there but once you go through all the stairs and the ladder climb you get pretty hot and the cold air feels good. The tour guide tells you about the history of the cave and shows you the different "rooms". If you are a bit more adventurous and thinner you can do the other cave tours (on your belly). If you think you would like to do that you can measure yourself with the box bench in front of the gift shop. After the tour it was time for our zip line ride. It isn't like the traditional zip line where you have harness. This one has two seats with a weight limit of 450 pounds. It's pretty exhilarating because it goes down fast and on the way back it's a little slower and you can enjoy the view. There is a height requirement, I'm assuming the same as other amusement park rides. Overall this place is nice little place to go before or after visiting the memorial. read more

This place is absolutely awesome! If you go then you have to buy the wrist band! It's worth every penny because you WILL want to ride the rides multiple times. The mountain coaster was by far my favorite thing to do and we rode it 5 times! The cave tour was one of the best cave tours I have seen! It is challenging at times walking but it makes the experience so much better. The 7D rides were fun; we rode all three. I passed on the zip line but the rest of the family enjoyed it. I did do the ropes course however and it was fun and challenging. This place was so much more fun than we expected and worth every penny. read more

This place is a great small adrenaline park hidden in South Dakota. Great zip line for first time zippers schedule your 1hr cave tour in the middle of Day and enjoy a comfy 58 degrees F. I had one of the most fun experiences at this place when I went and did the tour of the cave. The tour guide was really a cool kid and he shared a lot of interesting facts about the cave and how it came about and how it was discovered and also how it was expanded. Midway through the cave he had the front desk turn off the lights and had everyone not make a noise. It was so relaxing, for 12 seconds and then an annoying 4 year old girl started freaking out. I wouldn't usually be so annoyed except for the fact that she basically ruined the tour of my crying and talking the whole time while her parents talked even louder and saying "shut up !" to her at least 50 times. So I guess my advice is to take a tour without little kids. Hahahahha I also did the zipline, why? I do not know! read more

We were so excited to come here but were disappointed. I think it's a good park for kids 10 and under. The zip line line was so long and the wait time in the sun was crazy. The line itself was fun but definitely seems right for a child or someone scared of heights that really wants to say they went zip lining. The mountain coaster would've been great, however, it allows you to control your own speed, so the girl ahead of us went as slow as possible and even stopped on the track a few times so we all piled up waiting behind her. It was the worst ride ever after waiting an hour in line. One jerk literally stopped his cart on the track and was laughing just trying to upset everyone on the track behind him. Then he actually waited after the line and was bumping his chest into a teen female and shouting obscenities. This guy had to have been some weird pedophile but the employees saw it and just watched. They did nothing. I told the employees that that people were stopping on the tracks so they said they'd give another ticket to ride it again but it's another hour in line so we just left. I really don't think this place is worth the money or time. You'd be better off going to another zip lining park. Oh! I asked the guy at the snack bar if they had dairy free items and he just stood there with his mouth open and then said i don't know what that means. So the employees at this park aren't really the brightest. Save your time and money. read more

What a great tour! I've been to Jewel and Wind Caves and this tour is much more intimate. That being said, knee/back problems should probably not take this tour. I believe our guide was Theresa, and she was great. A little quirky, but it added flavor to the tour. She was good with the kids, too. I was a little disappointed that there weren't many activities for the younger set. Hopefully, we can visit again when the mountain coaster is done. The zip line was great for the 1 kiddo in our group that was tall enough to ride. Looked fun! I would say this cave is best for 5-60 years old (as long as you can climb a ladder and pass over slick rocks. Great time! read more

Don't waste your money! The cave itself is OK, nothing overly spectacular but the really horrible tour guides ruin the experience. For what you pay you should expect a decent, well informed guide. The reality is that they use 14 year very socially awkward boys who don't know what's appropriate to share (didn't need to hear long stories about other visitors who got hurt on tour or guide who got hurt and then quit), don't speak grammatically correct English, don't seem to know how to act as a leader/guide (would climb up the rocks outside of the stairs railings and never seemed to know how many were in the group to know if everyone was there or not), and would say things like "that rock over there, I don't remember what it's called". That's only some of the very poor behavior exhibited by our guides and 2 other guides we encountered on the tour. Very poor experience under any circumstances. read more

Note: While there is a ticket office at the bottom near the coaster and ropes course, if you want to do the cave tour, you have to go to the ticket office at the top. Use the stairs on the left side of the upper parking area. Walking up the slope in 90 degree heat is tough! We did the cave, ropes course and coaster. The cave is difficult at this time because of the need to wear a mask. I would have preferred more handrails since you really aren't supposed to touch the walls. Watch your steps carefully. There is a lot of moisture in the cave. Stood in line for the coaster for 25-30 minutes only to be told that there was lighting in the area and they closed it down. We did ask for a refund on our 4-hour tickets and got a prorated amount. Went back 2 days later and rode just the coaster. The wait for the zip line seemed too long to bother doing. Our group didn't want to do the gunslinger. Got the "Mother Lode" bag of dirt in the gift shop and took it home to "sluice". See photo of what we got. read more

This was an excellent family destination. My husband and I had toured the cave together a few years back, but this year we had my parents, other family members and our 3 children ( 10, 8 & 3 ) along. Everyone enjoyed the tour including our toddler ( we suggest you keep a tight hold on the little ones hands as some areas are slick or uneven. The tour was interesting and informational, Krystal ( our tour guide) was so kind to our older boys and answered all their questions. Our boys also enjoyed the 7D gunslinger attraction and my brother and I rode the zip line. We would suggest this to anyone in the Keystone area. read more

The cave is a little tight in areas but I'm 6'3" tall and averaged size and made it just fine. Don't really need a sweatshirt as the caves are warm and humid. Cave was fun! We had our 1, 3, and 5 year old with us. They all loved it, but in a few spots there are STEEP stairways where I had to walk backwards holding a railing to help the two older ones while my husband carried the one year old. No bright colors or jewels, but still cool! Wear tennis shoes! It got slippery in spots, there were a lot of stairs, and even a ladder. We got little mining hats with lights on them in the gift shop and the kids loved wearing them through the cave! We bought tickets to the movie but didn't do it because our kids couldn't sit on our laps and were too little to ride alone. We heard it through the doors and it sounded very intense! Zip line looked cool, but we didn't do it. read more

We've done TONS of cave tours, and it does not have the numbers of stalagmites and stalactites that most caves have, BUT I loved the small openings/tunnels and the Big Room. It was a unique cave tour. PLUS they have the 7D gunslinger shooting game. We went on one, then had to go on the next two, it was a BLAST! The Zipline was meh, but I've done so many actual zip lines I guess nothing can compare. Now I REALLY want to come back for the mountain coaster that will be open next year. read more

There are 5 attractions here. Zip line, coaster, ropes course, 3D shooting theatre and cave. It was not super busy when we visited so we rode everything multiple times. Cave tour was one hour and somewhat strenuous with lots of stairs. If you can make it up the hill, you will be fine on the cave. There is a snack shack, but we did not visit it. Overall fun place to visit. Not sure I would want to go if it was busy season and had to wait in long lines. read more

Great option for rainy day. The cave is narrow at points and there was a stepladder climb at one point, but several options to go around if too difficult. We enjoyed with 6 yr old and grandma with no issues, so good for all ages. Also liked their 7D robot cowboy video adventure game. read more

We toured with 2 adults, and 15, 9, 7, and 4 year olds. This was a great first cave and our tour guide was humorous and informative (young kid, forget his name). It was easy to navigate and I was the only one to head butt a rock since I was keeping an eye on the four year old. Very cool stalagmites and stalactites. Then we hit the zipline - which is really why we had chose this one. It was the only zipline I could find in the area for the four year old to do (42" height requirement). She loved it, of course, and so did all the rest of us. I do feel like it was a little bit expensive, especially with a family a of six. read more
