Now to jump into the details...  We were initially going to get married in Kansas City, but then we opted to get married somewhere close to us. I reached out to Shawn to let him know we weren't getting married in KC any longer, but he said they would be willing to travel to Savannah, GA to shoot our wedding. I was a little hesitant about using a photographer who wasn't from the area and not meeting them before the wedding (my husband wasn't up for engagement photos), but I loved their photos and knew we were in good hands with how responsive he was every time I reached out to him. They were great about working with us on the package, and we immediately felt a connection to him during our pre-wedding call. Shawn had great ideas about our "sparkler" photo timing and had great insight on the timeline.  When we met Shawn and Kodi a couple of weeks later at the rehearsal, we knew we had made the right decision based on their professionalism and the demeanor between the two of them. On the wedding day, Shawn showed up in a tuxedo to shoot and was the definition of professionalism. I knew he was incredibly talented the minute he started taking photos of our rings and other details, and I was blown away by how quickly he got through the wedding party and family photos. (Either my family was on their best behavior or he was completely keeping them in line--going with the latter!) We had some ideas of where to shoot photos, but Shawn had the eye for where we should set up and how we should pose. I thought it would be awkward, but it was so much fun since he was great at giving instructions and kept us moving at a seemingly natural pace.  Kodi served as the second shooter, and her energy was incredibly calming that day. She was an amazing support to Shawn (or so it appeared to us) and also to me--from reminding us when to bring flowers, coordinating timing details, making me feel at ease for being AN HOUR AND A HALF BEHIND SCHEDULE (Yikes!!!! All my fault, not theirs!), and so much more. Their ability to work as such a strong team was so wonderful to watch, and it enhanced the experience for me because they were able to play off each other's ideas and personalities to come up with the best shots and provide the most perfect experience.  We are in the process of getting the photos back now, and I've been so blown away by everything they caught, their creative eye on some shots, and how they were able to make my husband and I feel so comfortable so we had "natural" smiles in the photos. I also love how they caught moments that may have seemed small at the time but are so precious now that I'm looking back on them. The only sad part of this process is that we don't get to hang with them again, as they were truly such a joy to be around and work with throughout the entire process. I cannot say enough positive things about Swander Photography and am so grateful I stumbled across them! Please book them--you won't regret it!

We definitely recommend Complete Wedding + Events for your DJ needs!…read more We received a vendor list from The Elms and we liked the idea of hiring a DJ company that had worked at the Elms before. We hired them about 8 months out from the wedding and we were sent a link to fill out the details of our day. This was helpful to prompt us on all the options we needed to start thinking about. We met with our DJ, Jeron, five days before the wedding via Zoom. We sent him some Spotify lists for our cocktail hour and dinner that he was able to accommodate in short notice. He had the right amount of energy for the party we wanted and checked in with Chad and I throughout the night that was greatly appreciated. He also sent us a really thoughtful handwritten note to us after the wedding, that really meant alot. My only note is it would have been nice to have our initial meeting more like 2 weeks out from the event. We met on the Monday of our wedding week and that week was pretty jammed packed. It worked out but it would have been nice to knock that out the week before.
