On May 30, 2013 I was hit on my motorcycle on 80 near Fairfield, California. I immediately had pain in my shoulder from flying over the hood and landing with all my body weight on my left arm and my shoulder taking the brunt of the impact. I called Liberty Mutual and from her first words, I knew the adjuster I spoke to was just awful. She was in Georgia and told me to basically go away because lane splitting was illegal in all 50 states and she knew because she was a former deputy. I was also a deputy and told her in California, the CHP had just released guidelines on the practice. She wasn't having it. So my next call was to Brown, Koro and Romag. After nearly 3 years, words can't really express my gratitude to Ashley and Jim. We got the total run around, delays, ignoring. About a year after the accident, Ashely helped me come to the decision to have surgery. She explained to me every single pro and con to the procedure, she just knew all my questions before I even said it. We went to the mediation hearing and when Liberty Mutual came up with some lame excuse about not being able to attend and sending a representative from their company, she was as mad as I was and we both knew it. I brought my husband to the meeting and she totally explained everything to him and made it easy to understand. Please read prior review for details on some very serious concerns. The accident was 4 years ago, 3 years since he employed Russ Brown. We just received a small check yesterday for personal items that were damaged. When we were informed of this over the phone, it was spun as "hey, extra money is great right?" but no one addressed that this was a loose end that was never tied up on behalf of a client over 3 years ago. They did not hesitate to take their portion of fees out of these checks even though it was a misstep on their side to have not finalized it when the case was under review/settlement. Russ Brown represented my husband in a motorcycle accident in 2014 - this review is long overdue but I feel I owe it to any potential clients to share our experience. My husband was working with Ashley on his case - the service started out fine and then got to the point where my husband was not hearing updates on his case and was dealing with unprofessional communication on behalf of Ashley. My husband (who is very patient) finally had to ask her if there was any "issue" in updating him on his case because of the way she spoke to him...sounding very annoyed whenever he would check in. A client should never have to ask this type of question. I finally got involved after he was too frustrated to deal with his lawyer. I personally experienced the same type of rude communication that ultimately made my husband step away. What is even more concerning than the experience with the front line lawyer, is our experience once we escalated our concerns to Jim Romag. Jim initially was very pleasant and helpful - he seemed to genuinely want to remedy the situation. He offered to discuss a reduction in fees with his partner...we waited to hear the update for far too long. Each time we checked in, there was another reason why he did not have an update for us. I was extremely frustrated with the entire experience and shared in detail this frustration. Jim categorized my frustration as "wanting a discount" rather than taking any ownership over the subpar service we experienced from 2 representatives of this law firm. Our issue was ultimately resolved but we will never recommend this lawfirm to anyone who is injured in an accident. When I let Jim Romag know I would be sharing my experience on a public forum, such as Yelp, he threatened defamation. I have this statement in writing, over email, from Jim Romag. I had to remind a lawyer that it is not illegal/defamation to write an accurate review of an experience. A lawyer attempting to "strong arm" a client with legal terms in order to not have a review written was extremely concerning. I may be wrong, but the feeling I got from this entire experience is that If your case is clear cut, bringing lots of profit to this firm you will receive service with a smile. after reading reviews i hired them and can only say they have people to handle the phones well and the police report was corrected when they pushed the issue.but what i was led on to believe was constantly changing and only did i speak to the same person for short spurts then weeks with a new person and new circumstances would be my gear, my bike,missed wages, tow fee with storage fee, cost of a rental things of that nature were especially what they promised id be reinburst and compensated and even has me convinced the compensation now needed to be split into two checks. first loss wages and remainder for what i issued paper reciept for all fees they asked. photographed my bike and totaled it as complete loss. i recieved my lost wages which they took 1/3 for themselves out,1/3 out supposedly to medical which only cover me briefly while in icu and then sent me home with no insurance no meds after a month in hospital 5 sergerys resulting in my entire right side my body broken . every rib , severe brain trama, all organs severly bruised with lacerated liver, granaded my knee which cant bend a whole year later due to 30 screws and 3 plates in knee alone etc etc. still have not been contacted and or compensated for all i was promised and when i only got my loss wages that was what they took the 2/3 out of leaving me with the costs of what they told me to go pay and cover its all 100% from your reciepts reimbersed so what its been was almost half what i have recieved from them was what i paid to get back a bike that was later totaled a complete loss and not only was the entire time period constantly being pushed further and further but now i am waiting patiently as they asked for and its been 6 months since the one check for wages cleared and i gave my reciepts for meds the tow fee and storage fee and i dont think its funny they kept asking since first met for 5 star rateings and now i hope they see this and it reminds some one that my second check has fallen under the desk or been pushed aside due to hell freezing over. do not believe what they sell u is what to expect the reviews are what they specificly asked me to put also that i read. i was told i would get no pain and suffering due to a bill passed about uninsured motorist even as the victim which i hear other results from differant attorney offices and police who wrote report has advised i look into that part being head of traffic devision and doesnt know anything of that being relivent read more
