Outside there are only a few pumps, but I didn't have to wait. The station is located on 190 in a curve, so entering and exiting can be tricky. On this trip I picked up a Powerade and a lotto ticket. The powerade quenched my thirst, but I didn't win the lotto. If you're in Lacombe and need to refuel, J&S should fit your needs.

My main gripe with J&S Bayou gas and go is that they run out of gas too often. It's a pain in the butt to go there and find they are out of fuel. They should be more careful about ordering so they never run out.

However, they sell E0 gas so I will gas up here if I am on that side of town. Lots of highway travelers stop in here - if you are eastbound on I-12 this is the last gas stop before you get into Mississippi. They don't have peak busy times. They are just steadily busy all the time. Never much of a wait to get a pump and the checkout line inside moves quickly. The gas pumps are clean and in good working order. The pump touch screens, electronics, and pay-by-phone devices work most of the time without problems. The nicest thing about RaceTrac is the coffee! They have machines that grind on demand and so the coffee is always fresh. There are several different flavors/varieties and all are pretty good (even the decaf is decent). The store is clean and well kept. The bathrooms are better than average as convenience store restrooms go. If you go to RaceTrac regularly, download their app and sign up for the Rewards program. I have earned a ton of free swag (coffee) over the years.

It is located on the corner of Florida and Girod so despite knowing it isn't the best place, I often end up stopping here. The pumps are not set up to be particularly easy to navigate. For some reason people don't pull up all the way, or are blocking the entrances which makes it hard to fuel up. That wouldn't be so hard to deal with if it weren't for the odd crowds that seem to congregate here. Here are some of the things I've encountered: On one occasion there was a large group of juveniles loitering outside. I can't be sure, but it looked like they were harassing people coming in and out of the store. They were pretty obnoxious. On my most recent visit some guy in a mustang was incessantly revving his engine and subjecting me to ridiculously loud exhaust. I could go one and on about the issues that I encounter here, but you get the idea. I understand that the station can't have full responsibility for their patrons, but no other station has such a regular occurrence of obnoxious people or behavior. It never fails when I come here that there is some issue. I will probably end up here at some point again because of the location. I just hope that they work out a way to make it a more pleasant place to fuel up.

I'd bet I go through about ten tires a year due to nails, screws, alligator bites, you name it. Most of the time I get a slow leak it is at the worst possible time of day. That's where this Exxon comes in. Located right off of I-10, this Exxon is super convenient of you're traveling to the city. The pumps are plentiful, the gas is reasonable, and the bathroom is clean. But that sir machine, oh that air machine. I'd kiss it if I could. The air machine works like this: put in your $1.50, set the pressure you want your tire to reach, put the hose on the tire, and voila! No wondering if the tire looks full enough or fiddling with a pesky gauge that never works. This does it all. By the way, if you happen to not know what your recommended pressure should be, look on the inside of your drivers door jamb, owners manual, or find the maximum PSI on the sidewall of your tire.
