Great diagnostic/repair services - but *expensive*. These folks are pro's at figuring out the problems with your car (but beware, they will find *all* of them). They are also pro's at fixing these problems. They also came highly recommended by several friends. BUT they are EXPENSIVE. If their estimate seems high to you, do get a second estimate (yes, that may be second best, but that may have to suffice). If you need the best - and can afford it - this is the place. read more

UPDATED REVIEW!!!!! Unfortunately I ultimately ended up having a negative experience with them- after having a few good encounters with them- well what I THOUGHT were good encounters. I truly liked these guys and thought they were taking good care of my baby! But yesterday my car was acting funny so I didn't want to drive her anymore and immediately took her to Russ's. I am a dog walker and I rely on and NEED my car for work. When I walked in the guy behind the counter told me they couldn't take a look at her for a week!! What? I get that a lot of repair shops are backed up due to availability of parts- but I was really shocked. In the past these guys have got me in for an oil change in a day- as a matter of fact last week I emailed with one of the employees about getting a tune up and he said he could get her in that week. So why a full week? I explained to him that I needed my car etc- and it was absolutely falling on deaf ears. I was honestly hurt! Like I said- I really liked these guys! So I went outside and called another mechanic who also told me he was backed up- but he had empathy for my situation. He picked my car up for me from Russ's with his own tow- free of charge and had her on the lift within an hour. When I popped in to meet him, and bring him a pizza as a thank you for his kindness- he told me some things about the work that Russ's had don't on my car that were.... Well a bit shady. I won't get into specifics. IN SUMMATION- I am truly a nice kind person and don't like to leave reviews like this unless I feel they are truly warranted. And this is one of those occasions. After having our cars serviced at the local Honda dealer for several years, we finally had enough. Read some reviews on Facebook and gave Russ' a try. This place is top notch. Dealership 'service level' but trustworthy and reliable. We received an inspection from Honda and they found $2,000 worth of critical repairs. Russ' did the same inspection, found the same issues, but gave us solid advice on what was necessary and what wasn't. Saved us $1500 in unnecessary work at Honda. My advice: give them a try for something simple - an oil change or something. You'll be a customer for life after that. read more

Russ and his entire crew are truly professional and trustworthy. I rely on them to do a great job no matter what service we are getting done. I have never been disappointed. I can usually get an appointment quickly and then, with 5 or 6 areas to work on cars, they get my car back to me at the time they promised! Clean, large office with Kuerig coffee if you have to wait, but being local, we usually just drop our cars off and pick them up later--no muss, no fuss! Refreshingly not a chain but rather guys who want to do a great job for repeat business and great word-of-mouth referrals. Very dishonest company, their prices take advantage of people who do not know better. Bad way to practice business- saved hundreds going elsewhere. They'll overcharge for anything this shop is overall outdated and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. You can not trust these people to even do the smallest task; they're one of those "horror shops" you do not want to come across. Not to mention they'll try to keep your car for multiple days in order to charge you as much as possible for the smallest task. Makes it seem like they're doing more extensive work than they are but anyone with car knowledge can see through this. Beware. read more

Easily one of the most genuine auto shops I've come across. The team goes above and beyond to work with your needs. I've never felt that they were up-selling anything. They've become a staple in our community and recently hosted a Girl Scout Troop to show the young women how to check the oil level as well as check/change a tire. If you're looking for a repair shop that stands behind their work, I can wholeheartedly recommend Russ's Wrench. I recently failed my New Jersey state inspection and brought my 2004 Suburban into the shop for emissions equipment repair. They repaired my vehicle and I went back and passed the state inspection. However, more than a month after this, my check engine light came on again and I took the vehicle back to Russ's Wrench to see what was up. They stood behind their work and performed the needed repair to hopefully ensure this would never be a problem again. They even followed up with me later to ensure everything was still working correctly and that I was satisfied with the repair. If you're looking for the cheapest shop in town, this is not the place to go, but if you are looking for a worry-free repair that someone will stand behind, Russ's Wrench is the place to take your vehicle. read more

A friend told me about Russ's shop I had recently bought a Challenger and wanted to get my mid mufflers swapped I called the shop and found out the best time to come in. When I got there the first bad sign was the amount of cars just sitting there like this was a junk yard but I didn't think to much of it and went inside. Two people were inside Russ and an employee they put my car on a lift and looked under it. All I needed was some 3 inch piping to make the new muffler fit after they looked at the car they assured me it could be done. So we walked out of the garage and back inside the store and they asked when was best to make an appointment however I told them I first needed an estimate. Russ seemed very against giving me one telling me he really wasn't sure how long it would take how much material he would need. I told him I wasn't leaving my car somewhere for work without at least a rough estimate and he told me it could be around 400 maybe a bit more depending how long it takes. This price is absolutely ridiculous and I wasn't dropping the car off for a week just for a mid muffler swap so I left and went down to Mufflex in Hamilton. They did the work for me in 40 Minutes and charged me 130 dollars for materials and labor when I told them my experience at Russ's shop they laughed and told me he only wanted me to drop it off so I didn't see how easy of a job it really was and so he could up charge because at the end of the day a mid muffler swap is a easy job that shouldn't require dropping your car off for a few days. After this experience I wouldn't advise anybody so go here for any sort of work since he charges ridiculous prices and your car will end up sitting outside in the mean as if it were at a junkyard. read more

Russ's Wrench came recommended to me from a friend. We were completely disappointed and frustrated by our local shop (that we had gone to for decades), after they had been bought Nationwide by a very sub par group. We decided to get a second opinion on another suggested large repair and called Russ' Wrench. Jeff answered the phone and was so polite and accommodating on a Wednesday right after Christmas and before the New Year. They got my car in quickly and gave me a comprehensive review of my car and emailed me a detailed diagnostic report with pictures and full explanations within 24 hours. Instead of pressuring me to make repairs on a vehicle that was near it's end to make a buck, they gave me an honest opinion as not to invest further and waste money. The shop just down the road would have encouraged me to keep dumping more cash into a dying car. We purchased a new car today and I am glad that I now know of an honest shop that I can use and recommend. Don't be fooled by the building, it's completely new private ownership.
