I am writing this letter to provide clear perspective on what transpired between you, Hereinafter Known as Vendor, and my cousin Hereinafter Known as Customer, on the FACTS surrounding the situation of our Thanksgiving dinner planned on Saturday, November 25th at the Rustic Living Workshop. BACKGROUND: On November 3, 2023, my cousin, the Customer, booked (and paid in full) the Rustic Living Workshop venue for a Family Thanksgiving Dinner to take place on November 25th, 2023. The guests for this event were out-of-state family & friends, including those coming all the way from California. The reservation was for 1pm until 5 pm at the Rustic Living Workshop. Vendor failed to execute on the agreement. Vendor admitted in writing as well as verbal that she (vendor) forgot about this Thanksgiving event, that she, (vendor) did not have it on her calendar. Customer arrived at the Rustic Living Workshop for her Thanksgiving celebration. The venue was dark and locked. By about 1:23 pm, the Customer, texted the Vendor with no reply as well as called the Vendor's cell numerous times directly with no reply. Finally, the Vendor replied at 1:44 p.m., twenty minutes after the customer's initial text. It is critically important to keep in perspective the vendor's admission in writing to forgetting about this Thanksgiving event and that she (vendor) did not have it on her (vendor) calendar. FOR PERSPECTIVE: Customer's family arrived at the Rustic Living Workshop on Saturday, November 25th. There was hot food in Customer's vehicle. Customer had family/guests from Ohio and California in additional cars. The venue was dark and locked. Vendor was nowhere to be found. Customer texts and calls Vendor numerous times on vendor's cell phone. At 1:44p.m., Customer finally connects with Vendor. Still with people in the parking lot waiting to go in and have dinner. It was cold and the customer was with her 2 toddlers, both under the age of 3. The vendor offered to rush to the Rustic Living Living Workshop to let Customer and guests in, however, said it would take about 40 minutes to arrive at the Rustic Living Workshop and asked if this was ok. Customer understandably said no, , given she and her guests had waited ~45 mins in their cars already. This would have placed Vendor at the Rustic Living Workshop at ~2:45 and the dinner was scheduled to be over at 5pm and the kids and adults were hungry and ready to eat. This is ABSOLUTELY BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE. REFUND STRUGGLES: Vendor was apologetic and agreed to fully refund, the Customer on Monday, November 27th. On Monday November 27th at 12:44p.m., my cousin, the Customer, reached out to Vendor after no communication to confirm if credit has been issued. Vendor replied broadly that it was on "my to do list". November 27th comes and goes and no refund-additionally, Vendor offers no explanation. Tuesday, November 28th Vendor now says her daughter has Covid. My cousin, the Customer, expresses empathy to Vendor. Still no credit. Vendor says that she must go into the office to issue the credit and tells my cousin, the Customer, that she will now issue the the refund on Wednesday, November 29th. My cousin, the Customer, informs vendor that if full credit is not issued by 12 noon on Wednesday, November 29th, she will seek help from her bank. My cousin, the Customer, tells Vendor that in a world of high technology, credit can be issued from her cellphone. Vendor finally issued credit on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023. The Credit is PENDING but until it posts to my cousins account, I am hesitant and cautious about the UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES of Vendor at Rustic Living Workshop. NEXT STEPS FOR CUSTOMER: The Customer had also previously booked a birthday party and paid in full on October 16th, 2023, for January 27th, 2024. The customer was genuinely concerned and sees this miss as a HUGE RISKY RED Flag, with all the signs of having a disastrous outcome. Especially, since the Vendor had Jan 6th on her calendar instead of January 27, 2024. As a result of this horrific experience, the Customer, requested to cancel the January 27, 2024, event that was paid in full - three(3) months in advance, said differently, 101 days in advance. Vendor is refusing to refund. OVERALL STATEMENT: Customer's family gathering and for their Thanksgiving celebration had a disastrous outcome and it was a direct result of Vendor, Rustic Living Workshop, forgetting about the Thanksgiving event. Kaci FAILED to honor the agreement. Customer's family & friends ended up eating an expensive Thanksgiving meal at a nearby dirty park. The food was cold and ruined and ended up in the trash. Next, getting the runaround to be refunded was another catastrophe. The Rustic Living Workshop Management must be re-evaluate this situation and learn that poorly and UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES will not be tolerated. read more
