These types of shops are generally a little higher priced due to the overhead and commissions the buildings owners charge for the display space but I'd expect there's still a little room to negotiate a better deal, I always try and bring enough cash to cover anything I may want to purchase while antiquing, I've found cash is still king in this arena and I always offer an out the door price which includes any taxes I leave it up to them to figure that out so flash the cash when you are serious about the purchase and close the deal as fast as possible. This place is definitely worth the time it takes to checkout the inventory, I'd say Crossroad Trading turns over its inventory and has new items arriving daily, remember this is a business unlike the mom and pop shops that are more of a passion for the proprietor to collect than anything else, if it's displayed here they want to move it there's not any kind of attachment to anything here and if they say there is I'd call BS...

Everywhere we went, things looked the same or it was over priced. We stopped in to Hartlex, thinking it would probably be just furniture but we were desperate. This has now become our official shopping place for gifts. It's not just antique furniture (which were all STUNNING by the way), but decanters, beautiful wall art, jewelry, bed and bath items, lighting, crystal...SO MUCH. We were there for hours and enjoyed every minute of it. We ended up leaving with some things for ourselves too. The ladies who work here are friendly and helpful and even told my friend and I all about a festival Nolensville is having the second Saturday in April without us even asking. Now that's what I call small town friendly. There are antiques here that are in great shape and furniture that has that country feel but is completely modern. There are bath bombs, jewelry, clothes, tables, mirrors, and candles for sale among many other treasures both on the main floor and upstairs. It smells delicious as soon as you walk in the door. It is decorated nicely inside and feels inviting. I plan to return. The prices aren't too bad either so that's a plus in my book. Small businesses for the win, amirite?!
