Have dined here in the summer/fall in the lovely outdoor dining area which is very inviting with plenty of the plants. Each pizza we've tried has been excellent and I also very much enjoy the eggplant parm pasta. The brownie affogato is the perfect end to the meal. Can't wait to come back now that winter is upon us!

TLDR: Great restaurant serving delicious food and exceptional service from the ladies running the front of house. We came here on a rainy Wednesday and the place was quite lively (good sign). We chose to sit outside given the pleasant unexpected warm October evening and beautiful outdoor space they have curated. The dining tables are covered from the rain with big umbrellas or a gazebo. First time dining in the rain - quite enjoyable. I did not make reservations but the hostess (believe her name is Jenna) was very helpful in assessing when tables may open and putting me on a waitlist and estimating a 20 minute wait. After a 20 minute stroll around the neighbourhood, I walked back and they sat us down. For two guests, we ordered the Rustica meatballs, Rustica caesar salad and the seafood pasta. This was just the right amount of food. The Rustica meatballs comes with three meatballs covered with melted cheese sitting on a copious amount of chunky tomato sauce and two pieces of toasty baguette. Simple and delicious. The Rustica caesar salad was quite large and very fair for the $14 price tag. If you enjoy garlic, you will really like the pungent garlic in their creamy caesar dressing. The romaine lettuce was fresh and crisp and stood up to the generous amount of dressing used. The pickled onions were a nice touch to cut through the creamy dressing. The seafood pasta uses fresh squid ink linguine. I think the sauce is just olive oil and the juices from the seafood. While I understand the intent is to let the flavour of the seafood shine, I think a light tomato sauce would compliment the seafood and elevate the dish. Our server, Kelsey, was great. She was friendly, easy to talk to and attentive, can't ask for more.

Located in downtown Orillia, Rustica serves a delicious menu of wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizza as well as other Italian inspired menu items. They source many of their ingredients as locally as possible, but also import specialty meats, cheeses, olive oil, San Marzano tomatoes and wine for the perfect blend of local meets authentic Italian. In the warmer months, Rustica offers the option to eat in their outdoor courtyard which is a beautiful spot to dine on a nice day.

Probably the best restaurant in Orillia. Always need a reservation as it is busy. The menu has something for everybody.

**A True Hidden Gem in Orillia **…read more As we were passing through Orillia, we decided to stop into **Theo's Restaurant** for a bite to eat--and I'm so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and brought to our table with such genuine hospitality. The space is spotless, intimate, and beautifully styled, creating the perfect atmosphere for a cozy meal. The menu is filled with wonderful Greek and Italian options, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The bruschetta was outstanding, and the veal parm was perfection. The food alone is worth the visit, but the service truly elevated the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, giving us that small-town connection where we didn't feel like "just customers." We also noticed the same level of care at the tables around us--clearly, this is how they treat everyone who walks in. Theo's is definitely a place I'd stop at again on my next trip back. And for anyone who lives in Orillia, it's a wonderful spot for a family celebration, a special date night, a relaxed dinner out, or even a business meeting. **Five stars all the way. The Theo family has done an incredible job.** Anja Lavigne ( Toronto/Kwarthas )

Being a fan of the Bakes by the Lake lunch and treats, I was excited to see they had expanded and were offering more options to the gluten free and vegan community. The tea room is beautifully and elegantly decorated. From the light fixtures to the cutlery, it shows they have put much thought and energy into the vision they have for the space. I was definitely impressed! The menu offers a little bit of everything. My boyfriend, who isn't gluten free tried a gluten free beer and really enjoyed it. We were there around lunch so we opted for sandwiches. Not having to ask if something could be removed or was gluten free was so nice. We swapped half's of sandwiches and loved both. My boyfriend had no idea it was vegan cheese until I told him after he ate his half. He said he would order it again. The Gourmet Grilled Cheese had the upper hand with the black truffle dip that came with it - sooo good. How can you go wrong with black truffle anything?! :) All and all, was a terrific dining experience. We will be back for sure! They offer live music, brunch, lunch and dinner and also have a very nice patio. The customer service was spot on too. Being family run was really nice to see too. *** Update from our previous visit ***…read more My family had been to Era 67 in late September, and had a horrendous experience. After we posted our review the owner, Brian, contacted us to discuss what happened. He then offered for us to come back and give them another shot. We accepted, and returned this past Sunday (November 10th) When we arrived, we were seated quickly in the private room. Brian extended his apologies again and thanked us for returning. Our drink order was taken and delivered in a timely manner. My husband was impressed with his Old Fashioned, and said it was well made. We placed our appetizer and dinner choices at the same time. The appetizers were a bit slow to come out, however we attributed that to it being a busy evening. No big deal for us. We had the stuffed Yorkies, and the bruschetta. Both were excellent. Our dinners took longer than expected, but again, it was a busy night. 2 of us has the braised lamb shank, 2 had the Prime Rib special, and I had the striploin. They were worth the wait!! My brother wanted to lick his plate when he finished his lamb and said it was the best he's ever had. My steak was perfectly cooked, and the prime rib was also well enjoyed. Although we didn't have much space left, we elected to try their flourless chocolate torte for dessert, 2 pieces to be shared amongst us. It was super rich, but came with a raspberry coulis to help cut it. Excellent!! All in all, our experience was a million times better than our last. For me, personally, I do wish the food came out a bit faster, but aside from that, we were all very pleased. I've given it a 4 only because of the delay in between courses. The food was still worth the wait though. I know that my family plans to return. My mother wants to try the lamb after seeing how much my father and brother enjoyed theirs. Thanks for a great night, Brian.
