My husband saw Dr. Moeller in the Birmingham office. After a very non-helpful appointment, he…read morerecommended occupational therapy for the injury. After 5-6 weeks of therapy, which was helping, the therapist said the doctor refused to allow the continuation of therapy unless we went back into the Dr's office for another office visit. There was absolutely no reason to go back into the doctor's office except to allow for him to bill us or the insurance another office visit (the initial exam was $320). Dr. Moeller did not take one objective measurement at the initial office visit (only x-rays and a general exam). The OT took measurements of flexibility, range of motion, etc. and wrote in her reports that the therapy was increasing both, proving the therapy was indeed helping the patient. After speaking with him, he said he had to "re-evaluate" the injury in order to verify the OT was working. I explained that he would have no way of knowing if the therapy was indeed working because he hadn't taken any objective measurements at the initial appointment. He had no valid response to that. He simply wanted to re-bill for another exam. What a terrible way to run a business and treat patients!

I signed in and gave you the documents you requested. At 10:45, I asked why it was taking so long and was told they were running late. At 11:10, I was so frustrated that I asked again what was going on, and the second receptionist didn't like my tone of voice and pointed to the sign that said to have respect for the personnel. Well what about respect for the patience waiting for over an HOUR to see the Doctor? I ask Her if she could read Flipped her the BIRD and walked out. I apologize for flipping her the bird. The staff could care less about you. Find another place to waste to your time.

I first visited the office back in September 2025 after a serious injury to one of my fingers. I…read morewas extremely nervous about what would have to be done, but Dr Truluck and his staff very quickly got me set up for the surgery that I needed. I was given options for the surgery, one less invasive and one that would be more restrictive to me once healed. Dr Truluck did not pressure me toward one of these choices or the other. I elected for the less invasive surgery, which went well. At all of my follow ups, I was greeted with a smile by the lovely staff, and especially the radiology tech. I was always treated with respect and I felt welcomed as soon as I walked into the office. Everyone is extremely friendly, helpful, and thorough. I ended up doing the second more invasive surgery at a later date because my healing process was complicated. This was at no fault of the doctor. My second surgery was incredible. I have had no complications at all and my recovery has been smooth. I saw Dr Truluck today for the final time and was released to return to work, but only after I let him know that I was ready to go back. Dr Truluck does not pressure his patients one way or another to stay off work too long or to return too quickly. He listens to what he is told by his patients and he follows their lead as to what they feel comfortable doing and not doing. I could not recommend a surgeon or medical staff more than I recommend Dr Truluck and his staff. I would gladly go back for any hand related treatment in the future.
