I stopped by to make the return and was told I couldn't do so until noon when the supervisor arrived because it was a credit card transaction and he had to approve it. Inconvenient, but I said I would stop by on my way home then to try again. When I arrived the cashier looked at me and said he just left so again I couldn't make the return. I told him that it was ridiculous that I had to keep coming back and he proceeded to tell me it was my fault because I had come just before closing time and also that I should have paid in cash and this wouldn't be an issue. He was incredibly rude!! Since when is it the customer's fault that you can't provide appropriate services within your operating hours?! And I can pay however I want, that's why you have a debit terminal! AWFUL!

The guy who dealt with my order was extremely friendly and helpful (unlike the miserable looking fat lad sat on his arse in the corner of the shop not doing a great deal!!). They told me both SIM cards were not being read, both motherboards were useless, needed to replace both phones. They "tried" a new SIM in each, put them in upside down. It turned out to be a local mast problem, fixed later in the day while I was wondering about their advice. This is preposterous, 2 new phones could have cost me £1000, their s0-called advice was useless, wrong and seemingly self-serving. How can staff in a phone shop not know how to put in a SIM? Doh. What bugged me even more is that I couldn't fix it myself and I'm normally quite good at this sort of thing. I took it in, picked it up a day or so later and when I got it home, it worked. I am certain that somewhere obvious inside the case there is a huge reset button labelled, "press here if you are an idiot", but I was too incompetent to find it and so suffered the ignominy of having to explain what I had done. I think the £100 I was charged were really punitive damages rather than the cost of repairs. They wouldn't tell me what they did to fix it, so I think that it probably actually took slightly under 2 minutes to open the case and slightly under 2 seconds to apply the fix. The people are friendly, my only beef is that on return, the case thumb screws had been replaced with regular slot screws. If they need to open the hood on a PC or laptop, they will charge you £70 for a diagnosis regardless of whether it can be fixed or not. If work is required you will be charged for parts and labour on top of that. They specialise in fixing Shuttle PCs here as well as laptops, but I'm sure they could sort out your desktop woes as well. All over, I have no real issue with this place and would use it again if necessary.

As this was my only touch point, I don't know if the owner being there made the process smoother. The staff are friendly, and the owner was frank about what they did to fix the issue. Any pc repair has a minimum cost no matter where you go due to labor and overhead. This place seemed like it was on the lower price range after calling a few places in downtown and didn't push useless services - definitely a far cry from the atrocity that is Geek Squad or whatever the equivalent is in the UK.

There are many TVs in the back to choose from and most of them are the new Bravia type. I had my eye on a 40" which had been reduced by 200 pounds. In fact most of the stuff in this shop was on sale when I visited. They had a really neat ipod mixing deck for 400.00 which was playing the music that you hear when you enter the store. They also sell the Vaio computers which you can try out in the store. All in all, everything Sony!
