This store is as random as they come, yet every high street should have one. Actually if you look hard enough several London gift stores are like this. If you want cheap, fun toys for kids, you'll find it. How about a singing bass fish? Does it get you excited? There are all manor of useful household things such as lights, tape, and hooks, even make-up for you ladies. S & S fulfils the criteria to be classed a bazaar. Whether its stationary, tup-a-wear or bins, it'll be stuffed in here somewhere. I find these shops a little weird, the attendants aren't the warmest, although if you've been stood in the same shop for what seems like decades, you are going to look bored too. I almost expect them to cry "Are you local?" (If you've watched League of Gentlemen, not the pants film but the TV series, you'll know what I'm talking about) Facts are these are the places you find items you can't pick up elsewhere, generally at a much better price. I found good quality 2010 diaries for £1.50. For my last party I traipsed half way around London to find plastic shot glasses, S & S had them, at a fraction of the price.
S & S, I salute you. read more
