I love Camden Market so much. Every time I visit I come home with so much great stuff. Lots of local vendors selling their wares. You can get everything from vintage clothing and jewelry to artwork and records. It's a funky, artistic, electric, bohemian market with a collection of local artisans and indie, small business entrepreneurs. It's an open air market that quite literally has something for everyone. We were so excited to revisit Camden Market. But as a Brit making my return to the UK I found this plagued by the same issue I saw across London - the loss of the unique culture and lines blurred between this and any other similar place. Gone was the mix of locals and tourists, cool music playing, great shopping and tasty food! The place was full of shops loaded with cheap, generic junk! It makes Times Square or Pier 39 look eclectic! Want a cheaply printed tee or bag you can also buy on Amazon - check! Want a 'vintage' Amy Whitehouse vinyl for 80 pounds that you can buy on eBay for $5 - check! What about a 'French taco ' aka a tortilla filled with French fries ( seriously) check!! Want to walk shoulder to shoulder to shoulder with unsuspecting tourists buying all of the above - yep they have that too!! We ended up escaping the main drag and finding a local brewery - and even that was empty and devoid of culture! The cool market; with unique finds and great street food has been replaced with a generic experience that you could find at any tourist trap and it makes me sad that areas like this are losing the very identity that set them apart ! read more

What a fun place to visit! We spent a few hours of our london trip at the Camden Market, and what a sight to see!! They have a variety of hand-made goods, food, drinks, and more. We tried the pimms drinks for the first time, and it was wonderful. I enjoyed to Sushi Burger and OMG it was so good. They fried the salmon to perfection and ill be thinking about the meal for awhile. The views here of the river is wonderful, offering this beautiful day to be seen from all over. The only qualm I have is there isnt much seating- I struggled to find anywhere to eat other than standing - so take that into account when planning your trip. Other than that, a great time to hang with friends and try a variety of foods. read more

We had a free afternoon and made the decision to trek out to Camden Market. Upon arriving I was ready to leave almost immediately. This area was overcrowded and just felt dingy. There was a video that talked about how most of the market is t-shirts and that's an accurate representation. We passed by other local markets that weren't crowded and seemed to have higher quality markets. I wouldn't recommend this spot to anyone. Maybe it was cool before it got this mainstream. read more

Camden Market was cool. Camden Market was also packed with people, as you can imagine, for a Friday afternoon. As I made my way down Camden High Street, I discovered the Camden Market through my wandering through certain buildings before realizing where I was. I kind of grew overwhelmed by the multiple food vendor options, and wanted to do the Pick and Cheese spot, but I didn't want to do that one without my wife, so I opted for pizza because I was overthinking my options too much. Walking through the Stables was very cool. I didn't necessary need to buy anything but I did enjoy perusing through the various hallways and enjoying the overall merriment. read more

On a trip to London, we knew we had to visit the iconic Camden market. Upon exiting the subway and walking through a whole line of shops you finally get to what you're there for. The Camden market space is built into a a number of buildings that you can wander through and just explore. There's all sorts of different shops and restaurants some that are smaller and less known, and some that are much more touristy focused. There are a lot of people here and I expect it can get quite busy and crowded, especially in some of the smaller passages. We spent a few hours here, but you could easily do it quickly or take much longer depending on how much of a shopper you are. Lots of great people watching as well. This is definitely a common spot for tourists to visit and is a good addition to anyone's itinerary. read more

Great selection of food and shopping! Includes at least 50 food stalls of "street food" from various cultures. My favorite place to eat! Can be pricey but it depends on what you're getting. The food is so good there's a chance you'll end up getting more than one thing. The market also has vendors selling souvenirs and handmade/unique items. You can access by getting off at the Camden Town stop on the Northern Line. As soon as you come out of the station, the street is lined with shopping and food stalls. This area is generally pretty crowded on the weekends so it may be good idea to come a little earlier or a little later in the day. read more

This place is overwhelming! From the banking of people, to all the little nooks and crannies with shops and food stalls - it would be easy to get lost quite quickly here. I found most of the shops to be a bit odd - lots of overpriced touristy items. However, I did love the handful of vintage shops I was able to explore. As for food, you have no shortage of options - from those going viral, to lesser known shops. I tried a bit and then also stopped at one of the full restaurants for a pint. There are a few cool places to visit but nothing comes with a wow factor. My travel buddy got food poisoning from one of the restaurants so it plays down my overall experience with Camden Market. It's not a place to just come pick something up, it's an experience. I noticed that some vendors will bargain with you so it might be a value but there was so much of the same thing. One of the coolest markets I have ever been to. Tons of food choices, interesting clothing and jewelry, and unique eating "pods". Think of this as a mash up of a food court, The Haight in San Francisco, and a vintage swap meet in LA. You get the idea, right? read more

Retail is alive and well at Camden Market (and I have the receipts to prove it). With an enormous footprint, it was a bit difficult to tell just how much of Camden Market I experienced. I arrived late morning and stayed until late afternoon, and still hadn't covered the whole of it. But, laden with packages, I found myself in "Asian Alley" and succumbed to the come-ons; I purchased some food and sat a while during which I had two revelations: * There was far better food to be found at Camden Market; and * The atmosphere was beginning to change from the way it'd been earlier in the day. Both of these were signs that it was time to leave and I'm glad I did as the whole area begins to feel like something not for someone of my age the later in the day it gets. But earlier? No lie. I had a whole lot of fun here. I left looking like a "Real Housewife" who'd gone on a shopping spree and that's an image I can't say I've ever evoked. But a few shops got my business, then a few more, and this was before I'd even wandered into the section with hundreds of (used) black leather jackets for £18 apiece. If you like shopping, eating, and experiencing new and different things, Camden Market is likely a place you'll enjoy at least for while. I've not experienced anything quite equivalent and that's a compliment. Enjoy it, but do be on your way back before sundown. read more

Really, really cool place. This market is so big, there are dozens of places to eat. You could probably come every week for a year and still not try everything. Cool, artsy boutiques and shops too, from records to clothing and collectables. Located right along the lock, so picturesque too. Definitely a spot worth checking out in London. read more

It's like several buildings that are four stories tall they have food and shopping all over. Skip this tourist trap. At first glance, it looks like 100's of shops to explore. In reality, it's the same 10 trinket/knick nack shops on repeat. Lots of cheap uk novelty gifts all made in China. There are a few hidden quality, local, handmade shops to see if you dig deep. Overall, it's a crowded mess of a market. read more

This was so much fun. Very colourful. It was interesting to walk the tunnels and stalls and bridges. We went an hour before it opened - which was a perfect way to scout it out without the crazy crowds. It was a highlight of our stay for our 20 year olds. Great people watching. Camden is for sure different then some of the other markets in London but like all the markets it is a must to visit. We came of food and let me tell you they have a lot of it and pretty much all of it looks good. I walked by a bunch of booths trying to find the right food and honestly I wasn't even sure what I was hungry food but one of the places we walked by we were offer a sample. Not even really sure what we were trying but hey it's free I'm not gonna say no. The chicken we tried was very good so I looked at the booth it had come from that being Cheesy Naan Melts. Cheesy Naan Melts was a concept I had never heard of but once looking it over it sounded amazing. Think of a Grilled Cheese but on Naan with Middle Eastern seasoned meats and sauces (I think more specifically Pakistani). I had to get something from here because again I had very seen or heard of anything like it. I went with the Lamb Shish Kebab Naan Melt and got the spicy sauce with it. Within 10 minutes my food was ready and it was amazing. The Naan was crispy but still soft loaded with cheese and lamb and the lamb was so tender and flavorful too with just the right amount of spicy to it too. I know it's not really a Grilled Cheese but I don't have much to compare it too. I will say it's for sure top 3 Grilled Cheese I have ever had though. Mine was so good that Ashley then went and got one and my parents got 2. I also got to try Ashley's Masala Chicken Naan Melt and she got Masala Fries too. Both absolutely amazing as well. CHEESY NAAN MELTS, remember it because it's amazing and the one guy working there is doing it all too. One of my favorite markets in London is Camden Market! I arrived early one morning and was able to get some photos before the hot spots were filled with shoppers! Lots of great vendors to buy items that are not ordinary souvenirs. Also, photo opportunities galore if you are a poser and looking for some great backdrops, like umbrella alley. The history of the market having once been horse stables is honored through the art! Restaurants, vendors that sell high end fashion clothing or collector t-shirts and leather goods. They have it all, even a lady that makes custom jeans and jackets by sewing patches on while you wait. I bought some clothes and felt like the quality is well made and the prices were reasonable. Impressive location that is just beautiful and a must see! read more

Stopped by Camden Market during my trip to London and had a lovely visit. Solid options for vendors and shops! As for food, we tried Baba G's,The Yorkshire burrito and got tons of fresh squeezed orange juice. First and foremost, the Yorkshire Burrito is overrated! We ordered the chicken one, would probably recommend the beef over the chicken. The line to order was long as was the line waiting to pick up your food. Baba G's lamb burger was delicious. We watched Million Pound Menu on Netflix and knew we needed to try Baba G's! The onion bhaji really took the burger up a notch. The spicy sauce on the burger was great! Both options were super filling and could easily be shared by two people. The pressed orange juice was FRESH and tasty! We bought 3 large bottles and are craving more days later! We also purchased a cute London mug. Solid value for what you are offered at Camden Market! The view walking by the water is beautiful as well. read more

London is always a lot, so much to see and you have to prioritize. After doing all the things (Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Harrods, London Eye, etc.), Camden is a fun detour (and about a 30m ride on the tube). Total Venice Beach vibes, the good and bad. During daylight hours we loved thumbing through records, all of the unique crafts, jewelry, clothing, street art, and interesting people. Goth and punk stores were giving ghost of Hollywood Blvd past and I am here for that now and forever. Amy Winehouse is everywhere. Zombiepunk4(IG) was right by Lock Bridge with a ton of his friends selling selfies and talking shite to tourists. Food stalls were hit or miss but there were many choices. It was windy AF and freezing so the hot mulled wine warmed my soul. Didn't love every single t-shirt shop (bands, weed, touristy themes) manned by aggressive sellers, plus the counterfeit goods - Gucci sneakers for $20? K. Seeing that made me question every other shoe shop that looked legit. When we saw that the Lost Souls pizza pop up at True Romance didn't open til 5, we made a mental note to return later. Damn - this area hits different after dark on a weeknight, kids. Full Silent Hill meets Raccoon City. The shoppes and markets were closed and shuttered, and the already long walk from the subway felt much longer. Pizza was sold out and there were not many other options open :( Yeah, there were people around but no friendly faces, so my spidey sense told me it was time to go. Fear can be fun, but lasts about as long as a roller coaster ride. So, as there was nothing legal left to do there we retreated back to our part of town for the rest of the night. Definitely one of the best places to visit in London. They've great little stores with some wonderful food. We tried a crepe at a store at the beginning of the market and we also tied Indian cheese melts! Omg those were to die for!! This place is so unique and bustling and there's something for everyone. The prices are all fair and inexpensive as it's more of a buy as you go. There's plenty of seating areas with covering which we realized was a necessity very quickly as it was raining! It's a sprawling market and much bigger than you initially might think. Louder, busier and more chaotic than the Portobello Road one, but this one caters to a slightly different demographic and delivers a range of experiences: from Moomin store (frankly, one of unexpected and favorite finds there) to vinyl shops to the usual "tourist trap" stuff. Not sure that it's worth a repeat unless you are on a mission and know exactly what you can get there and where. read more
