I would like to start this review with the principal fact that I had the work on my vehicle done in May, and today is Sept 7. The work was done well and I had no complaints with the service end of the business. Today I had a security issue on my vehicle that required my attention on the built In cameras In my vehicle. I discovered downloads of multiple videos of the garage staff using the vehicle for errands through the core of the city downtown and away from the garage. Horrible experience and completely dishonest. The price of the car was not what we originally agreed upon and they added on a bunch of stuff without my consent. I highly recommend that anybody who's thinking of coming to Peel Chrysler shouldn't. The dealer who sold me my car named Sal was dishonest and completely unprofessional. We had the best experience today! My car was having all kinds of lights come on: ABS fault, skid indicator and brake fault. I was driving back from Windsor so drove right to my Nissan dealer on the way home. They diagnosed it and said I needed to replace my ABS actuator and parts and labour would be $3,300.00. My husband and I decided we needed a second opinion. We had never dealt with S & S before, but they had great reviews. I explained the problem over the phone and "Kristen",( our new Hero), said to bring it right in, and when she asked the type of car, without even seeing it she said "It won't be the Actuator." Right she was! S & S fixed it the same day, and the bill was $389.00. This type of professionalism, knowledge, efficiency, and reasonableness in pricing just doesn't happen any more. First came here on a good friend's recommendation late 2014. Dropped my Nissan Altima 2008 Coupe 3.5 SE off around 8 am, ready by 2 pm. Got a couple of stabilizing rods replaced, they threw in a top to bottom inspection, i.e. not just fluid levels. Summer 2015: started noticing a rumble in the front left, did a little research and suspected it was the wheel bearing. Side note: I have a third party aftermarket warranty from Quebec (Groupe PPP - Superior) that, to everyone's surprise, covered wheel bearing replacement. Problem was the Nissan dealerships weren't open to going through the process of calling up the warranty agents to explain the repairs & costs. I got the polar opposite feedback from Kristin at S&S, she said it wouldn't be a problem and that she would handle all payment coordination with Groupe PPP directly. Ali took the car out for a spin, confirmed it was the bearing and gave me a thorough breakdown of what was going on with the wheel. He also immediately noticed issues with breaks seizing (mostly due to my leaving the car parked for extended periods). After all the work was completed, I paid the invoice for break servicing (~$100), signed off on a separate invoice for the covered wheel bearing (no cost to me :D), and I can honestly say that the car has never driven smoother. Extras: 1. At no point do you feel you're being pressured or upsold. 2. Last garage I took this car into (approx a month earlier) to get summer tires mounted didn't even mention the seized breaks :s 3. I was 30 minutes late picking up the car, Kristin and Ali waited around, truly appreciated. 4. Four different streetcar routes pass by right in front of the shop, so no need to get a rental for drop-off/pick-up. read more

It was a Friday morning and I was on my way to see my brother's mechanic when my brake pad actually broke off the car and fell onto Lakeshore Ave. I hobbled back to Carlaw and got on facebook to look for neighbourhood recommendations. People spoke very highly of S&S so I made a call. I was squeezed in and they were sooooo nice. This is a mid sized shop with a community feel. I didn't feel like I was being tricked, nothing was pushed that I didn't need, suggestions were made based on wear and tear, but no hard sales tactics. I have been trusting Chris and Co. at S&S Motors with the maintenance and repair of my car for about 15 years. While they can fix any car new or old, they do a really great job on the expensive European cars that are notoriously costly to service and fix at the dealership. They are incredibly smart, service oriented, friendly, nice to talk to, know their stuff inside and out and never, ever sell me anything I do not need. Their pricing is really great compared to the dealer and their service is three notches better. They are always busy but always somehow figure out a way to squeeze me in and send me on my way as soon and as painlessly as possible. I travel across the city to get there from the West End to the DVP at Queen. It is a bit of a trek for me but always worth the extra travel time. Two thumbs up. read more

I've dealt with so many dishonest mechanics in the past (perhaps more so because I'm a woman and/or not a "car person"), and S&S has proven time and time again to be the most straightforward, honest, and caring auto shop--and S&S is not even in our neighbourhood! We get our car towed ACROSS the city because there's no one better. Yesterday, our car died on a highway in Etobicoke at rush hour (nightmare), and Chris helped us get the car to S&S before he left, *and* rushed our repair because of our weekend getaway plans with the kids. Found S&S through Yelp so made sense to follow up here on my service with them. Brought the vehicle in for an issue that turned out to be a non-issue. Was quoted an approximate price over email (which was a nice touch so I knew what I was dealing with) but when getting the vehicle on the hoist, it didn't need what I thought. Rather than do the work anyway, which a lot of shops would have done, they didn't. I did however, need a bracket for the muffler, which I knew about, so went ahead with that service only. I was charged only for the work they performed and not the inspection that didn't turn out to be anything and most importantly, didn't get ripped off by spending money where it wasn't needed. If trust and integrity accounts for something, they get 5 stars from me. read more

This is the kind of place that takes a really close look and finds even the little things that have been bugging you about your car and FIXES THEM - with a smile, intelligence, great care, respect and super reasonable prices.The word is pride - they take PRIDE in what they do and you can feel it in the atmosphere in the shop - the way they talk to each other, the easy nature of the place. They did my front brakes,set me up with a new set of tires, various other things (filter, flushes plus a top to bottom inspection) and it came in at the price that I paid to get just my back brakes done the year before.
