There are quite a few dentists in this practice and you don't always get to see the same one. If your having a number of treatments they tend to book you in with the same dentist, but if it's just for check ups, it's pot luck unless you ask for a specific one. I've never had trouble getting an appointment and think it's great that they will see you the same day if you are in any pain. The only bad point are the stairs. There are about 7 steps into the building, hard to manage with a pram and a toddler. And then there are about 13 stais inside if you get one of the treatment rooms upstairs. The reception is friendly and has a selection of magazines (quite old now though), and some toy for children to occupy themselves. They always seem to be taking on NHS patients.

As far as I know, they are still taking on new NHS patients, unlike many other practices. I have always found the staff to be very professional on the desk, whether on the telephone or in person and the dentists are very good, especially with nervous patients like me! They offer sedation for those who require it. There is plenty of parking at the front of the surgery, although this is shared with some other shops, but I have never not been able to find a space.

My whole family is a member of this dentist and I find the staff helpful it is normally easy to get an appointment at a time to suit you and the dentists are quite friendly and explain things to you in good detail. The dentist itself is a relatively new building so all equipment is the latest state of the art stuff and the waiting areas very clean and simple.
Osborne Dental Practice is fantastic!!…read more If you're anything like me you get sweaty palms and clench your teeth just thinking about a trip to the dentist! I attended the same family dentist well into my 20's so had just about begun to tolerate visits - a mandatory chocolate doughnut afterwards (which my parents bribed me with during my childhood years) seemed to help. Then I moved to Newcastle and it seemed a tad excessive travelling 140 miles and I would use it as an excuse not to go. Osborne Dental Practice obviously has lots of experience dealing with 'awkward' patients like me who cry when they are told they need any form of treatment .They even ask about your anxiety levels on the registration form! Dr Dhanoya has literally changed my perception of and experience of dentists and I would recommend his care to anyone. In addition to check ups, hygienist appointments and an unfortunate root canal I even opted for voluntary Invisalign braces last year as I felt so comfortable. All the staff are polite and professional. They are very flexible with their appointment times outside of conventional working hours but you can be waiting a while to get an appointment. They offer sedation for nervous patients like me (bonus as you get to feel rather merry after treatment). The practice plan is also a good idea if you are wanting treatments as you get a discount. My only grumble would be that looking after your teeth can be expensive.....but I guess a smile is worth a million dollars as they say!

I eventually booked an appointment with Richard as the pain became unbearable. The team at Guidepost have transformed how I feel about going to the Dentist this has taken alot of paitience and understanding from Richard and Holly. Due to the poor state of my teeth I required some "scary" dental procedures but I had nothing to worry about. I have felt no pain and the pre and post aftercare was amazing. I cannot recommend this dental practice enough. In December I get married and I never thought I would be able to smile confidentally on my day. However, due to Richard and his amazing dentistry this is going to be a dream come true. From the fantastic receptionist Emma who kindly reminds me when I have an appointment to the support staff around Richard inparticular Holly who knew when I needed a hand to hold and lastly to the fantastic way Richard has put confidence back into the way I feel about going to the dentist. I would highly reccommend this friendly, family led dentist to anyone who wants an amazing service and an amazing smile. Sarah Shirley
