I attended the same family dentist well into my 20's so had just about begun to tolerate visits - a mandatory chocolate doughnut afterwards (which my parents bribed me with during my childhood years) seemed to help. Then I moved to Newcastle and it seemed a tad excessive travelling 140 miles and I would use it as an excuse not to go. Osborne Dental Practice obviously has lots of experience dealing with 'awkward' patients like me who cry when they are told they need any form of treatment .They even ask about your anxiety levels on the registration form! Dr Dhanoya has literally changed my perception of and experience of dentists and I would recommend his care to anyone. In addition to check ups, hygienist appointments and an unfortunate root canal I even opted for voluntary Invisalign braces last year as I felt so comfortable. All the staff are polite and professional. They are very flexible with their appointment times outside of conventional working hours but you can be waiting a while to get an appointment. They offer sedation for nervous patients like me (bonus as you get to feel rather merry after treatment). The practice plan is also a good idea if you are wanting treatments as you get a discount. My only grumble would be that looking after your teeth can be expensive.....but I guess a smile is worth a million dollars as they say!

On Watch dental not just doing something wrong with your teeth but over there have cosmetic teeth surgery too like make your teeth more white and many many more. I go over there because my old doctor do not make my teeth better. When i go watch dental the doctor straight away doing well for my teeth. Never feel scarry or feel hurt when doctor doing something on my teeth. I always have a problem with my teeth plenty time i go there to put crown, take my tooth and put new bridge, take my old crown (from my old doctor) and put the new one. I already exercise and have a perfect BMI. I followed his advice and tried to move more, but I ended up unable to move because of severe back pain. He had told me there was nothing on my MRI and nothing wrong. I requested my records and the MRI scan so I could see for myself, because it was hard to believe--and I have now lost my job after following his advice and being unable to get to work. It turns out the MRI scan has still not been provided, but the notes he wrote completely contradict what he told me. They mention bulging discs and arthritis in my spine. I phoned up and was told to talk to PALS. I tried, but the voicemail box is full so you can't leave a message. I've made 63 unanswered phone calls now and there seems to be no other way to do anything. It feels like a great way to avoid complaints--just don't answer the phone.

Parking here is limited but have found a space when I have been recently, costing £2.50 for 2hrs going up to £4 for 12hrs, special parking is available if you have to park for longer, check with reception. As with most hospital outpatient appointments hurry up & wait is the norm. One thing I did find useful in this tech age is you can get digital copies of x-rays taken at any of the 3 hospitals, which are put on a CD with a password encryption. These have to be ordered & collected later. The charge to access medial records is £10 payable on collection. I found this service very useful as I don't remember how the x-rays looked during the appointment but was nice to examine them in my own time at home later & show them to my GP, remembering that it is confidential information. I found the nursing staff to be helpful & pleasant but the orthopaedic consultant a little brash as the first time I saw him was 9am on a Sunday morning. The 2nd visit he was a little more pleasant.

Dr Newbegin has treated me during this period and what an excellent doctor she is ,her knowledge, helpfulness and communication skills ( essential in a diverse community such as Fawdon ) are first class,she is a credit to the group. The nurses , also , are worthy of praise , they welcome you like a long lost friend and are very skilled with your treatment. The reception team have to bear the brunt of an entire nations problems (appointments ) and they do it with control and politeness . Overall, I am very happy with the service. Able to offer appointments on the day for emergencies or in the evenings outside of work. The doctors never rush you neither if you want to flag up more than one issue! Your repeat prescriptions can be delivered to your local boots store or pharmacy if this is more convenient. I wax actually gutted to leave when I moved again outside of the catchment area. Highly recommend for anyone in the jesmond area!

As far as I know, they are still taking on new NHS patients, unlike many other practices. I have always found the staff to be very professional on the desk, whether on the telephone or in person and the dentists are very good, especially with nervous patients like me! They offer sedation for those who require it. There is plenty of parking at the front of the surgery, although this is shared with some other shops, but I have never not been able to find a space.

I cannot complain about the service I receive from here,it has always been the best on offer. There are no nightmare receptionists,customer care seems top priority and everyone is treated with respect and warmth. The building is light and airy and very welcoming and has an open reception desk.There are lots of self help and information leaflets available and a notice board area.Plenty of comfortable seating,a childrens play area and toilets. They offer a physio service at the surgery should you be unlucky enough to need it along with the usual health and support clinics.There are plenty of staff to help with queries ect and the whole surgery seems so well organised and the staff efficient and well trained.
