When the crew arrived, they immediately said they could not move the bed down the stairs because it was too heavy and awkward. They then wanted an additional $200 to cut the bed into pieces. After leaving and returning with two more workers and a saw, they learned the bed could actually be moved without being cut apart. In the end, the bed was successfully carried down the stairs, proving it did not need to be destroyed as they initially claimed. I waited all day for the appointment, only to be told conflicting information and pressured into paying significantly more than the quoted price. The lack of communication, inaccurate assessment, and failure to honor the original quote made for a very disappointing experience. I have been trying for months to get Republic Services to properly implement an approved…read moredisability-related collection service, and the amount of follow-up required has been unacceptable. I submitted the required disability documentation and was approved for assisted service, which requires Republic to retrieve my trash cans from my property and return them after collection. I was also told that Operations needed to place disability-service stickers on my cans so the service could be handled correctly. Despite repeated calls, complaints and escalations, Operations has not followed through. I have repeatedly been promised that an Operations Manager would contact me within 24-48 hours. Most recently, I was specifically told Operations would contact me by Monday regarding the disability stickers. Monday passed, and I still have not received that call or confirmation that the stickers have been handled. I actually spoke directly with the Republic Services collection crew that services my home and asked about the Operations Manager. The crew told me the manager had been on leave for approximately a month and a half. I have repeatedly relayed this information to Republic customer service when they tell me to wait for the same Operations Manager to contact me. Instead of addressing the obvious problem of who is handling these responsibilities while that manager is away, representatives repeatedly brush the information aside and continue telling me someone from Operations will call. No one can identify who that person is, provide direct contact information, or explain who is covering the manager's responsibilities. When I tried to formally escalate my disability accommodation concerns, I initially received additional runaround and could not obtain a clear escalation contact. Only after insisting that I needed the appropriate channel to file a formal disability complaint was I finally provided information for Ethics & Compliance. An approved disability service should not require months of calls, repeated explanations, multiple escalations and promised callbacks that never happen. I am still waiting for Republic Services to complete the disability-service setup, place the required stickers on my cans, and provide written confirmation that the service has been properly established.
