Dr. Ekmark, my family's primary care provider/manager, moved his practice to this clinic as well so when my family or I need routine or non-urgent care it is convenient to make an appointment with him. As for referrals, we have had no issues with non-coverage - this is for 2 reasons 1) we contact our insurance provider to verify coverage BEFORE making the referral appointment and 2) if the referred provider is not covered we ask our insurance provider for someone who is. A quick phone call to Dr. Ekmark's office requesting a change to the referral and it is all taken care of. The only issue we have had has nothing to do with the urgent care or Dr. Ekmark's practice but with the lack of a 24 hour pharmacy in our area and Texas' strict regulations on certain medications.
