Yum! Delighted to have been introduced to this gem recently. Really great food, I especially love the Denang noodles with chicken. I'm slightly addicted to getting crushed peanuts and crispy fried shallots as sides for every meal! It's pricier than most but I think the food quality is reflected in that. However I really do feel when you spend over €20 on a delivery you should at least get free prawn crackers! Love the chilli chocolate mousse dessert- it's not always as bubbly as I like it but still tastes damn good! Beef pad krapow is seriously good and the paleo dishes are so tasty! Big fans. read more

Simply the best Thai delivery place in Dublin. Excellent Thai-fusion dishes. Fresh ingredients, high-quality meats, and if requested they make the food spicy (a rarity in Dublin). Delivery is quick and professional. I live in D2 and it usually takes about 40 minutes. The Hoisin Duck Rolls and Bangkok Noodles rock. The location in Rathmines is for take-out/delivery only but offers the same selection as the main restaurant on Clarendon Street. A very solid 4 star option (would be 5 stars if they had the same fixed-price menu pricing as the restaurant). read more

Great Thai food. Took it for granted as I live really close and hadn't really tried many others. But then I did, and WOW! I love Saba! However, the reason I'm taking a star off is that last time I got a take away from here, the coconut shrimp tasted and looked like they had been cooked a good bit before. Not a huge amount to add here, but we ordered here for the first time yesterday. Got the 20 euro meal for two which is an early week special - two dishes, rice, large bag of tasty prawn crackers all for 20 quid. We added a soup as well and with delivery it was 28 euro plus a 2 euro tip the driver seemed genuinely please to get. Delivery took around 50 minutes, food was hot, well packaged and tasty. Most important, the soup was spicy which really helped my cold. Other dishes were duck red curry and a chicken/thai basil stir fry. It's never going to win prizes for greatest food ever but it absolutely does the job, which is really all you are looking for on a cold, dark night in Dublin. read more

When I'm not in the mood to make dinner but feel like treating myself to a gourmet meal, Saba is one of the first take-away places that comes to mind. It's my favourite Thai take-away in town, not only because it stays true to traditional recipes and doesn't turn down the heat to suit spice-virgin taste-buds but the portions are big too so you'll have plenty of leftovers to feast on next day. A personal favourite are the Bangkok noodles. HotHotHot! and when on a budget, the perfectly seasoned Tom Kha Gai soup has a nice spicy kick. Love it! read more

We both really appreciated the fact that the women who took our order was very smiling and kind, she told us our order would take around 15 minutes to be ready but I think it actually took only about 10 minutes. It was really enjoyable that all the orders can be made normal, or gluten free, and that they also have different sorts of ice creams that are gluten free and dairy free, even if we didn't try those this time we would definitely next time ! We took as a starter the satay gai, we both really enjoyed it, it was a bit spicy, just what it needs to be, and in the same time very soft with all those peanuts ! After that, I had the gluten free pad thai with chicken - very good - and my boyfriend had the gluten free sweet and sour with tiger prawns - according to him, one of the best he had, and he tries the sweet and sour almost everywhere - The portions are huge, one for two with the starter would probably have been enough, and we were both very hungry. read more

I hovered between a 3 and a 4, the food is first rate but had a bit of difficulty last night. Myself and a friend wanted a wee snack after dog walking so popped in here and agreed to get a "meal for one" that they do Monday to Thursday for €11.95 to share. Its is a main, 2 spring rolls and a can of soft drink, brilliant value. We chose Pad Thai as our main dish and herself ordered a diet coke, and then a chilli chocolate desert. And because we are bad at being good, we also got wine from their bargain bin, for only €5! Firstly the food, delicious! Really fresh and the Pad Thai was still hot after the 15/20 minute walk home from Rathmines, I do think a few veggies would have been a welcome addition but still yummy & the crispy spring rolls with a tasty plum sauce went down a treat too. However the girl hadn't put either the drink or desert in the bag, so we called and they happily agreed to send them out to us, which they did, it took a while, but the desert arrived, minus the drink tho. We weren't about to dehydrate so didn't bother ringing back for the sake of it, but did feel a bit of a double check at the store would have avoided the missing items on both occasions. I will order again, as the food is really good and they have a skinny menu for those worried about the LBDs for Xmas season! read more

Overall, the thai food is fairly good. The quality is on par with most thai places around Dublin (Red Torch, Siam) but delivery service has forced me to give the 3 star rating. On multiple occasions orders have been wrong (chicken and prawn pad thai received with no prawns twice). They also have made mistakes regarding the level of spiciness on various dishes. As stated before, the food is good but delivery problems force me to hesitate before I pick up the phone. I would recommend visiting the dine-in location. read more

Dublin's best Thai takeaway by a long shot. Curries have lured me back to Thailand time and time again (of course the stunning temples, beautiful beaches and friendly smiles are a bonus too but I would be lying if I said food wasn't the main draw!), the creamy, spicy coconuttiness is pure heaven. However I have struggled to find a decent Thai takeaway in Dublin, and my homemade attempts have never quite managed to deliver the real deal. After years of takeaway disappointments, I moved to Rathmines and discovered Saba to Go. And what a discovery it was. The red curry is fiery hot, laced with lemongrass and thai basil, with just enough sweetness to counteract the pungent sourness of the fish sauce. The vegetables are perfectly cooked in every dish, and the king prawns are succulent and juicy. The massaman curry is a ridiculously rich, peanut-based lamb curry, with silky onions, potatoes and coconut cream, spiced with cinnamon and cardamon. The tubs the curries come in are the largest I've seen for any takeaway, and we comfortably shared a green chicken curry between two last night., taking the sting out of the higher than average takeaway prices. The Saba Restaurant on Clarendon street remains unvisited for me (I struggle to understand the cocktail-bar style theme that so many Thai restaurants seem to fixate on, cosmos and curries just don't go together for me) but they apparently do a great early bird. read more

Saba is my favourite takeaway; the menu is broad and very up to date, with many paleo and superfood options available. The staff are very friendly, and the food is just delicious! My go - to is the chicken massaman, although I have tried most of the other curries and noodle dishes, all of which are consistently great. Once, my massaman was very oily and I rang them to let them know and they dropped me down a large replacement curry and were very apologetic, which was very impressive. This place is very handy when you're feeling to lazy to cook dinner, but don't want to feel guilty about eating unhealthy takeaway. I think the food is just a little behind the Diep At Home down the road in Ranelagh. On the other hand, Saba have a better choice of drinks and desserts, so it's really much of a muchness. read more

Craving delicious Thai food, but don't feel like trekking into town and paying big bucks at the regular Saba? Problem solved Saba to go in Rathmines. All the ingredients are fresh and the flavours powerful. I've tried a variety of the dishes on the menu and I've yet to have a complaint. The service is friendly and the delivery times are with in reason despite it being a busy spot. It's also possible to pick up your order in the store and within there you'll find a clean and well stocked shop. My favourite part is that they've added both wines and desserts to the takeaway menu, not that I'm really hungry enough for dessert after a nice curry, but I'm always happy when someone delivers drink to my door! I would definitely suggest Saba to go over other Thai takeaways in the area for both consistency in food quality and consistency in delivery times/service. read more

On vacation here in Dublin, bought 2 pho bo soups for 28 Euro. Got delivery, soup was spilled all over the bag, paid for veggies however all that was in the soup was 1 baby corn (cut in half) and a few carrots. I have now tried the Rathmines Saba twice. On both occasions I have been disappointed. Soggy, greasy veg tempura (though I admit it's not ideal for a takeaway dish) and pork ribs that should have been thrown out the previous night, but were instead heated up and served to unwitting customers like me, who threw them out on Saba's behalf, but paid for the privilege. You could have bounced them off the floor, and the sauce was a thick, gooey, gloopy mess. Avoid. read more

It took over 1 hr for a sugar filled, flavourless grease slop to arrive after I specifically mentioned to the person taking the order that the last time I ordered it was too sweet. The plate was covered with a layer of grease after I tipped the dish into the bin. Never again... read more
