I have generally found Hampton Inn beds and pillows comfortable, but these were very UNcomfortable. The room itself was also very small. For our family of 3 with 2 queen-sized beds, there was hardly any space for 2 large suitcases. The bathroom had a roller door that was to save space, I suppose, but did not roll particularly well and came off its track. Hot water was not to be found if trying to shower during "peak" times. Over our 7-day stay, breakfast was also consistently subpar for the usually delicious Hampton Inn breakfast. As far as the good, the bathroom was fine and clean, and in-room fridge and microwave convenient. The location was also convenient to the highway. The staff at the front desk were also extremely nice! Overall, really a miss for me with this Hampton Inn.

I saw a connection door in the room that made me nervous since I was alone. The sheet on the bed smelled bad not clean at all. The first night I slept on top of the sheets. The next morning, I asked Lettie a maid I saw to change the sheet and explained to her that the sheet smelled like bad body order. I helped her change the sheets. That night I slept under the sheets I was awakened several times by something biting me. The next morning my left arm was covered in bites. They moved me to another room for the last night. I was unaware of what inspect bite me. The night manager came to the room to give me a trash can since none was in the room. I showed her my arm. She said she had worked there for 14 years and that it was bed bugs. I was alarmed and wanted to leave but where was I going at 12:30 at night. The next morning My daughter talked to the Hotel manager about the problem. She said she had no authority to do anything about it. I have had to go to urgent care now twice with the injury. Not to mention throwing out blankets I just bought, clothes and other things. When I left the next morning at 10:30 I saw mattresses stacked up in two stacks about a story high. I had to buy calamine lotion, oatmeal soak, Benadryl, Benadryl liquid to stop itching and it has been a totally terrible experience. I had stayed in the Wyndham JOHO hotel in Winterhaven before coming to North Fort Myers. That one was so very nice I booked with Wyndham again. This was terrible and I fact that no one did anything to fix this situation tells me you don't care. NO I will never stay here again or will anyone I know. I still have not healed from the inspect bites.

The room was spacious with a king bed. The suites all have nice sized kitchens with a full refrigerator and freezer. They are stocked with cutlery and chinaware, too. This is perfect for families. The bathroom has a large shower. I do miss the individual amenities that hotels used to have. This had the wall containers of shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. Breakfast was included every day. My only quibble was that the "egg" options and sides were only luke warm and not really hot. One morning we used the waffle iron to heat everything up. But no one went hungry. We'd stay here again -- as it was comfortable and convenient.

My least favorite combo was the meal the first day -- a whites only egg something with greasy sausage pieces that look like a hot dog chopped up. The second day was a bit better with an omelet and sausage patties. Luckily they have waffles, cold/hot cereal, and breads to toast... One positive was the free bottled water provided. Here are the pros and cons of my (currently) week stay at this hotel. -- Pros: * local to anything you need restaurants and stores. * affordable * outdoor pool that's clean * nice view of the river and city * clean mini fridge and microwave * small newer upgrades * housekeeping * front desk are respectful * free breakfast Cons: * roaches (picture attached) about sh*t myself when I was eating and set my sandwich on the nightstand to see one crawling up * shower faucet is backwards (cold is hot and hot is cold) * poor tv connection as the channels go on and off * wifi has not worked since arriving despite asking for assistance with password * (I asked for no housekeeping services for the week) housekeeping continued to knock daily. They entered despite us being gone and left a note on the bed(picture attached) However, they took the trash next to the door. * stained bed sheets * front desk shared to much personal information, like they're submitting their two week notice for a better job with better management. * spider webs above 2 out 4 lamp shades * spider and web in the corner in bathroom * plug in next to sink does not work * no coffee maker * beds are very springy and worn Unfortunately, due to more cons than pros even for the price this is not a hotel that I will be staying at again in the future. Not that it matters but I am a front desk manager at an IHG hotel where I'm from and would've booked one except I booked and paid for this stay before I started this position. Each hotel has a set of standards and this hotel certainly tried, but needs to teach their staff how to clean and inspect along with genuine care for their guests.
