We couldn't be happier with our experience at Z Equestrian in Costa Mesa! My 6-year-old daughter takes English riding lessons with Miss Emily, who is incredibly patient, thoughtful, and truly amazing with young riders. Both Miss Lexi and Miss Emily are wealths of knowledge and handle their students with such care. They don't just teach you how to sit on a horse; they focus on building strong foundations and fostering a genuine love for the animals. The communication is seamless, and the pricing is very fair. In a hobby that can get expensive quickly, we find this so much more fulfilling (and affordable!) than a Magic Key to Disneyland. My daughter is already dreaming of riding every single horse in the stable!

What they leave out of their website is that lessons do not continue after the morning (half day) session. Joanne, in a very rude manner, insists they do "horse related things" all day long, but in reality my daughter just played around the barn with another little girl who was still there. The second half of camp is 100% not worth the additional $400. I emailed Joanne and asked for a refund for the second half (minus the one day my daughter did stay), and she didn't even have the courtesy to write me back. The website also says campers will ride both english and western styles, but, once we were there, Joanne herself even told me they do not do both - another thing we paid for and did not receive. On one last note, I did not really appreciate the way she spoke to the campers. Let me first say, I do not think kids should be coddled and I am not a fan of "participation award," but the way she spoke to the kids was rude, demeaning, and belittling. There are several barns next to Joanne and I know the other coaches and trainers at those neighboring barns do not hold her in high regards either. Overall, the camp was not a total bust, but I absolutely wouldn't send my daughter back.

I'm not sure it's exactly like riding a bike--but Karen made me feel completely at ease from the start. Kiwi, my horse, was incredibly patient and gentle with me. I swear she knew I needed a little extra TLC! It made the whole experience so enjoyable and stress-free. I even got to do a tiny bit of trotting, which was such a fun bonus. Overall, it was such a great experience, and I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to try horseback riding or get back into it!

I am so grateful my aunt started me back up riding again at Reveal Equestrian. Jenna has taught me…read moreso much since getting back in the saddle a couple years ago. The barn has always been an amazing place to just be one with a horse and coming here has been very special for me. I'm surrounded by all of Jenna's lovely lesson horses and by a supportive group of fellow equestrians, including our newest trainer Aja (who is wonderful)! I have had a couple of horses (all very different in type and experience) in training over the last 4 years with Reveal Equestrian and the training and care have been customized to give each of the horses exactly what they needed. I love that the riding lessons concentrate on the fundamentals of riding, an appropriate focus is put on flatwork, jumping is never rushed and riders are brought along correctly according to their skill set. We drove up the coast, on this FIRST OFFICIAL DAY OF SUMMER. We drove up the I-5 to the PCH…read more We drove through Dana Point and into Laguna Beach. FROM THERE, we had to drive to a place for a PICNIC. We hoped on the I-5, and we drove back down the I-5 to the San Juan CAPISTRANO Mission. After driving back and forth, and around the MISSION 2 Times, we found PARKING ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT. We found it in the Church Parking Lot. WE RECOMMEND MORE DISABLED PARKING!!! We walked right in, NO WAIT AT ALL. We started by looking for the Picnic Spot, which is in the back left corner. It is a nice spot with lots of tables and trees. In addition, there are individual handwashing stations there. After lunch, which we picked up at a nearby SUBWAY, we spent about an hour touring the SJC MISSION!!! Its highlight was the display of US FLAGS, my guess would be over 100!!!
