I'll preface this by saying I'm a house rabbit owner. The old setup stressed me out with the bunnies running around being grabbed and picked up by everyone and poked and prodded by kids when they clearly were trying to hide. The new setup? I was happily surprised to hear the bunnies weren't out for the day due to the weather. They can suffer heatstroke and are sensitive to hot weather (mine are spoiled and live in 73-69° daily). So no bunnies out suffering the heat? That's so awesome! Thanks for caring RSR! I got to love on the Guinea pigs who had room to run, while someone would pick them up and place them in a bin beside me, tell me their name, approx age, and their fave veggie. I fell in love with Lola (I believe that's her name). She's a fiend for lettuce and gets the cutest green mouf. She begs for more and you can't deny her lil bug eyes. The Emu Angel has been there since I last visited (she's 38yrs old!). The goats and sheep are separated from the llamas and you can't step inside with them anymore (honestly this is probably best so kids don't get knocked out or have their clothes chewed). You can still feed and pet all of the animals! I can't complain about the price of admission or the price of feeding them. I personally know the cost of exotic vet care and it's not cheap, throw in the livestock vets and care and you're looking at a pretty penny. I guess a pro tip is to show up on a week day, somewhere around 2, and pace yourself. I spent over an hour there so it wasn't a blink and you miss it type of adventure for me.

This place is so cute, and the train drops you off right there, which makes it super convenient! My almost 3-year-old especially loved the petting zoo. You do have to pay admission, and feeding the animals is an additional cost, but we thought it was worth it for the experience. There are also tons of cute shops to walk around and plenty of different food options. We had a great time and will probably be back again!

We love this camp!…read more My kids and nephew have done this camp every year for several years now. They started in the mini minnow group (youngest group; no getting in the water). After that, they participated in the safari group (whale watching and water activities included). The last group is the h2o group (whale watching; kayaking; sailing; more advanced water activities). At every level, they were happy and excited to go to camp each morning. In fact, they prefer to do multiple weeks of this camp each summer. They love crab hunting, whale watching, sailing, and dock diving best. The counselors are young and energetic. They keep them safe and help reapply sunscreen every day. My kids come home with stories about how the counselors paid special attention to them and how they've made new friends. I love this camp and the people that help make it great every summer. We will continue to come until we age out! Highly recommend.

Coach Andy did such an AMAZING job engaging all the kids in an indoor setting! And now my son won't stop talking about it. I even learned a few drills to keep him more engaged at home. They can't really control their guests; that said, the social aspect is heavily encouraged to the detriment of the overall experience. You start off with each person introducing themselves with a fun fact. That eats time that could be spent talking about...I don't know...cooking. The social aspect is mixed in almost literally with your food. You are not just paying for experienced chefs to guide you. You are paying to be grouped with (admittedly friendly) strangers who will kind of ignore the chef and just do their own thing with the meal you will eat later. Unless you are a group of four friends I guess. The unwanted social aspect continues to the end of the night: Where they have each of a us publicly review the experience. Yeah, my review was definitely edited. How are you supposed to say that the very patience the chef's displayed with the chatty guests should have been sharper? They gave a little tip at the end of the night that they say they normally mention during the course of cooking. Yeah, it was not given out earlier because of all the picture taking and socializing. People are definitely having fun. I am admittedly the curmudgeon in this case. This isn't to say that I learned nothing, that the meal was bad, or that I did not have any enjoyment. We went to other camps where the activities were about art, playing etc. But this camp made our kid smarter. He was working on building things, engineering things, using critical thinking skills, team building! I just gave him 3 options for camp and he said "MOMMY, Don't even thing about it. Family members in San Diego have talked about being members of their local YMCA and I must confess whenever I heard about working out at a YMCA and such I usually dismissed it as 'nah...that's probably not for me'. Fortunately I have a local friend who has been a member for years and raved about the LN YMCA so I gave it a try and walked in one day. Had a great tour by a young guy (can't remember his name now) and was so impressed with their facility. Unbelievable! So many machines! At the time I go (usually early afternoon) there is never a wait for anything. Very clean. Friendly staff at the front desk. There's an initial enrollment fee of about $48 and for a single monthly membership, it's $52. It's a bargain. Cancellation policy seems easy enough (cancel by the 25th of the month for the following month and you're out). Highly recommend this location. So far have worked out on my own but anxious to try one of the many classes offered. Classes are spread out over most of the day unlike some other locations where it's early AM or late afternoon and nothing in between. I like that!
