The practicing nurse was super nice and professional & the male nurse/ doctor that saw me for a few minutes since my doctor was running late, was great and seemed way more interested in what I was feeling. However, when doctor G came in, she dismissed what I came in for almost immediately, didn't ask me if I was experiencing any other symptoms or ask any follow up questions about my pain and overall just made me feel so uncomfortable and dismissed. When I said no to the medication she wanted to give me, she asked "so what do you want then?" Which to me seems very unprofessional or as if she was insinuating I wanted stronger drugs. I will be calling my insurance to get my primary care doctor switched.

From the moment I arrived, the staff and doctor were unprofessional and dismissive. The doctor made me feel like I was just another thing to mark of their checklist, rather than listened to or cared for. She entered the room by asking "So, what are you here for?" no warm welcome at all! Instead of reading my test results back to me & explaining them she recommended I join a workout class. I left the appointment feeling like I wasted my time, without receiving any real medical guidance or support. Healthcare should be compassionate and professional, but unfortunately, this office provided neither. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for respectful and attentive medical care.

New insurance...new doctor. Sounds like fun, huh?…read more For a couple years I have been going to the Airport Urgent Care in Oxnard and had mixed experiences. When I got my new insurance I had to choose a new doctor and Dr. Alcocer with the Spanish Hills Medical group was recommended by my wife's doctor. I was a little worried when I called in mid January to make an appointment and they had to schedule me in mid February. They explained later on that one of the doctors in the group had just retired and that the other doctors had to make up for all those extra patients. They gave me a call the day before to confirm my appointment and told me to come in a few minutes early to fill out paperwork. I arrived 15 minutes early, filled out a stack of paperwork and then waited to be called. They called me in about 5 minutes later. Woah. 5 minutes...that's awesome. I had an awesome nurse who took all my vitals and got me ready for my appointment and then about 5 minutes later I was visited by Dr. Alcocer. He had an amazing demeanor. He seemed like he was not in a rush at all...he acted like he wanted to know everything about me and what he could do to help me with my regular issues like my asthma. He gave me all the prescriptions that I needed with 6 months of refills so I didn't have to worry about waiting for my pharmacy to call in for authorization. That was such a relief from my previous doctor. All in all the whole appointment took maybe 20 minutes, 30 minutes tops. I was completely impressed with the whole experience and I look forward to having the Spanish Hills Medical Group and Dr. Alcocer on my side when it comes to my health. :0)

Obviously, I switched oncologists. When I was called for the reason for leaving his practice, he did not, at any point take responsibility for not ordering the test - - even with my proof that the lab had not been contacted for three weeks! I think this has probably worked out for the better, as I would not want a Doctor who did not listen to me or take responsibility for their actions.

He did give me a choice between the hospital or his office, but there was no reference to pain. When one squirms on the procedure bench, clenching both fist and teeth, he suddenly realizes there is a pain issue. I've had it from a doctor friend that the only reason Dr. Dalsania maneuvered me into his office for this procedure was to put a love note in his wallet. To verify this conclusion, I had another bone biopsy done at the Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. My hematologist there, Dr. Anwar, didn't even give me a choice. I was to go into surgery under general anesthetic to have this done. The difference was galactic. Just a little pinch, and it was over, as well as my relationship with Dr. Dalsania.
