    Final piece by Big Meas
    Lara K.

I've gotten two tattoos at Sacred Hand - one small and one large. It's a first-class shop and all the artists are top notch. I love the look and feel of the place - it's an extremely professional shop. My first visit here was for a walk-in with Bee Sue. She was wonderful and gave me exactly what I was dreaming of. It was my first tattoo after a period of about ten years away, and I don't think my after care was quite right because it healed with a small white spot. However, Bee Sue was great and I'd definitely go to her again! My most recent visit was for a big custom piece from the one and only Big Meas. I'd been watching his work for years and knew I wanted a written word tattoo from him, but it took me a while to figure out what words I wanted. He drew it on me free-hand with Sharpies and then tattooed it. He is a freaking rockstar; if you like word tattoos there's none greater. It healed like a dream. Just one other personal observation - this place has a strong masculine energy about it. That's not bad or good, it just is what it is. If you are looking for more of a girly or feminine experience or tattoo shop, this may not be the one for you. But if you're down for a rock solid tattoo experience and don't need it to be soft or romantic in any way, definitely check these guys out.

4.0 Stars Location Overview: You can find this chill and badass tattoo shop on Parsons and Whittier between German Village and Southern Orchards neighborhood. Coming upon this location, trying to find parking really sucks. I'm not familiar with the parking in this area so I was nervous that my car would get towed. But after getting that situated walking into this establishment was nothing but great. The vibe here with decoration was outstanding. Lots of artwork displayed. Very nice shop. Customer Service: The customer service here was outstanding. Charlene "Cheech" is a bad mama jama. She had a cancellation so I was able to get right in. She gave me insight on pricing, size, pain of the area being tattooed and good instructions for keeping it clean and healed correctly. Overall, all staff working here were very chill, if you have been to a tattoo place you know it's not your doctors office. The culture in a tattoo shop is different than an office setting. But here it was pretty relaxing. Quality/Quantity: The quality of Cheech's work was outstanding. She explained she would do light shading and once my tattoo was healed if I wanted to go darker it was an option. As far as quantity I believe in this kind of setting tattoo artists can do a variety of things. Find what you like and let them know. Side Notes: Street parking only. A little bit of a rough area to be in. Definitely check out Charlene's IG page. GREAT WORK!

    Amazing coneflower tattoo by Cheech.

I have a bad habit of not really insisting on what I want when I want a tattoo. I'll be happy for a while but the excitement wears off and I'm embarrassed. My tattoo artist at Sacred Hand, Cheech, not only listened to what i was trying to do but asked a TON of questions to make sure I'd be happy. She spent hours drawing, asked for input, and adjusted to make sure I'd love it and it would fit my vision. The tat itself healed amazingly well, and I get constant comments about its beauty. It's not just a great tat that makes this such an amazing shop though. It's clean, which is great. Everyone is friendly and doesn't blow you off - NO ONE is condescending. I've been there three times and they remember me. The artists respect themselves and each other as artists; they look at each other's work, offer feedback and encouragement, take the time to celebrate with each other over the beauty being created. They are incredibly knowledgeable...Joey Knuckles sat and talked to my daughter for at least half an hour, explaining why one of her tats keeps fading and what he could do to help her with it. It wasn't a sales pitch, and he was not at all arrogant - he was excited to share what he knew. He explained it in a straight forward but friendly way. It was engaging to listen to him, because he clearly LOVES tattoos. They aren't just a way to make a living, he loves his art. I wanted a one of a kind piece of art. I spent over a year researching artists in this area. I was slow and cautious. And I'm so glad I did, because Cheech and Sacred Hand gave me exactly what I wanted!! I can't WAIT to see it with color!

They are very professional, and the shop is very clean and good looking. Make sure to make an appointment and don't go in as a walk in, or else you may end up with a rushed tattoo or something you may not have wanted. I went in as a walk in to get a simple line tattoo, but the lines were inconsistent and it was fairly rushed. I don't blame the shop though, as I was a walk in and I didn't make an appointment.

I love Sacred Hand Tattoo Society so much! I've gotten 3 of my tattoos done by Bee, and they're all perfect! Bee is a super wonderful artist! She is efficient with her emails and very organized. Her lines are always crazy clean, and she's just a fun person to be around. The tattoo experience is always a great one with her! Even if you don't know what you want, I'm confident Bee will work with you to help you decide on something you love. Ugh, she's such a beautiful gem. Thank you tons and tons The other artists are also really great, friendly, and accommodating. The place is very laid back and clean. Walking into it feels like you're walking into a family because you can just tell how much everyone cares about each other. Oh, and Tori at the desk is always rad and schedules appointments like a champion. Sacred Hand all in all is a bunch of great badasses that I highly recommend.

I'm 32 years old and now just acquired my first tattoo. Getting a first tattoo for anyone is like sailing through uncharted territory. The staff at Sacred Hand were exceptional at making me feel at ease. Super friendly and informative. Tori at the front desk could have been working at a bridal shop she was so nice. I went in and flipped through the artists books and decided on an artist and scheduled an appointment. The next weekend I was in getting the tattoo. Brandon was fantastic. So down to earth. We had great conversation which helped to calm my nerves. He worked quickly and two hours later I walked out with exactly what I wanted and I felt like I was well looked after. Thanks Sacred Hand. I can't wait to come see you again soon!

I have had 2 tattoos in the last few months and have been nothing but impressed with everyone at the shop, especially Levi. Levi is an amazing artist! I gave him pictures of an idea and he "ran" with it, coming up with a piece of art I am very proud to display. I will not be going anywhere else for Tattoos ever! Check this place out people!

They were incredibly friendly and professional from start to finish. If I'm being honest, my request was full on stanning, but I just really wanted Luka to know that I thought their work was beautiful and hoped we could work together. Days leading up to the appointment, Luka was very clear in their communication with me. The appointment itself was great. It was very nice to explore all kinds of topics with Luka, while quiet time was sweetly woven in. We even shared the lunch break together. The short of it is - I'm honored that I got to know Luka and really happy that I have a couple of beautiful pieces from them. I'm already thinking about the next two I'd like to ask them to work on.

I have to say, out of all of my piercings, this one did not hurt and wasn't even red or swollen right after and even throughout the healing process. He did a great job! The room was super clean and up to date. I would definitely recommend this shop for a piercing, ask for Sandroni Oh and go on your birthday so the price of the piercing is free (Still have to pay for jewelry so don't get crazy)

I couldn't find anything on the interwebs that really conveyed what I wanted it to. I found artist Chris Barton on Instagram and after following him for a while I decided that his style was something I loved and that I though would suit the piece well. We emailed back and forth a few times with a pretty vague description of what I was hoping for, and I had to set my appointment out 8 weeks in advance (they were busy, a great sign!). I didn't see the sketch until I arrived which worried me a bit, but all my fears were calmed the minute I looked at it! I explained my concerns with past tattoo artists who had heavy hands, causing some scarring underneath the tattoo. As someone with darker skin, this is a real concern! He took his time, paid attention to every single detail, and the result was perfect. You could see the artists around the studio were all extremely dedicated to their crafts and styles, and that's why I still sing their praises though I haven't gotten any more tattoos since then. Worth it!!

The artist was friendly and explained to me fully every step he was taking to ensure the piece was just right--very professional. Mike & Kat are calm, cool, collected, well-read, experienced in trade & life, and can lead a storyline while you're under the pin-pricks of tapestry creation. I found them through YELP. Yes, I relied on YELP for assistance... a trail of crumbs if you will. From "here" to the Spiritus site and then to the artists ... I found in Kat's gallery nuances in "self-discovery" and imagination my artist, stylist and Doctor of Soul. My bond to Kat is on my upper back (once healed - a photo will be posted). Two 3 - 3.5 hour sessions did the trick. Caduceus symbol using inks of black, gray and shades of gray were the goal. Kat roared past the goal and blew me away with grace and understanding of my intent. Along the way, Mike & Kat spoke with me, to me, about movies, books, bourbon, music, and explained some of the art and photos in their really, really unique studio. My first session had me discovering a B&W photo of Richmond, Virginia just post-Civil War. Totally destroyed but with a Greek columned building standing. Because Caduceus is a Greek symbol, we talked about the South, the war and loads of other things. Kat and I talked energy, foods, places we've lived and want to see, Short North pubs and bars, dreams and a truck load of other things.... while she calmly placed herself, her work, onto my living canvas.
