We went with an L.O.L…read moreSurprise theme, which I was super excited about since it's the latest craze amongst all the little girls, and I haven't seen the theme done at Bambino Chef yet. I'm a Creative Coordinator, Event Planner and CONTROL Freak! I purchased the V.I.P Package (for up to 10 kids) hoping I could step back a bit and let the awesome and sweet, Rene and her team do their B.C. magic. However, occasionally I would shoot them idea blasts on what I wanted. About 2 weeks before the event, I went full steam into contacting them again, I received the regular reminder phone call that Tuesday to re-review the event plan. I dropped off the self-made banner a couple days prior to the event so that they could have it prior to the party for setup. I created and brought my own gift bags that consisted of the L.O.L Surprise theme, in addition the kids received gift bags that come with the Bambino Chef VIP pkg, which you can choose between a mixing spoon, apron/hat OR bubbles, stickers, etc (usually items you can find at Party City). On Party Day, we arrived and were greeted by the wonderful Bambino Chef team, seeing how it was Cinco De Mayo and the team prefers the parents relax, I brought some Sangria and Guac and we parents hobnobbed while the kids did their thing. Naturally, taking tons of breaks to snap pics LOL My group initially being 10 went down to 8; we had some late arrivals, but the team was good at starting preparation for those kids who came late. Everyone still ate. Not only the Rigatoni they prepared but also the DOMINO PIZZA. Thankfully, I did not have to worry about having a cake made, because the VIP pkg does include cupcake decorating, so once the kids finished their masterpiece cupcakes we sang Happy Birthday and everyone indulged. The venue layout is awesome for children, the kids had enough space to run around and be merry. The final and most exciting touch in my opinion is the Champagne Pop! Struggled a little bit to twist that bottle, but finally got it to twist and the Birthday Girl and her friends received a beautiful Happy Ending. My only reservation for not going full on 5 stars was I didn't see my vision come to light with some of the ideas I emailed to them. There isn't one person to communicate this part with. Also, there is NO ONSITE PARKING; metered parking which you have to feed every 20 minutes. This part did make it a bit of a hassle for my guests.

From the planning through execution they demonstrated professionalism with a personal touch. Everything was meticulously planned. I hardly had to do anything - just got my family, guests, and some adult beverages. The kids had an amazing time. The parents could relax, merry, and also, engage with their kids to make pretzels. Everyone praised what they witnessed from start to finish. Many said this was their best kid's birthday party in recent times. What more can I ask as a parent! Oh and did I say how the birthday cake vanished in minutes (it was soooo yummy). I thank Rene and her TEAM of amazing party planners and chefs for making the event memorable for us and our guests. We will back soon for the cooking classes.

However upper management including directors and finance directors are crooks and the place itself extremely overpriced for a run down and dated facility . Upper management (women in the office) are rude, uneducated and extremely unreasonable, They are all about the money and not there for the benefit of the children/parents, Not to mention the facility needs some updating, dingy dirty walls, hallways and bathrooms. This place should be a state of the art facility based on how they rob the parents. I am very unhappy with this place and extremely applaud by Sophie's (Finance director) treatment towards me, a single mother of 2 when I expressed a cancellation of a summer camp application. Yes I understand policy, yes I understand protocol, however that does not give you the right to yell at a LOYAL, PAYING PARENT. It was unacceptable and I urge all parent to look else where. Do not deal with these money hungry, extremely unreasonable, uneducated, rude ladies. Stay far away!

He also taught us some fundamental concepts/steps in terms of Indian cooking. The four hour class yielded really tasty dishes, and even though my older daughter who's six wasn't officially enrolled in the class, Sanjay let her help with the poori and chicken korma when she dropped in briefly. I'm so thankful for this generous gesture, and his knowledge. His passion for sharing what he knows really shines through, and I highly recommend his class. Sanjay was exceedingly friendly and shared his travel and family experiences generously which made the class both fascinating and memorable.

I am also a special instructor for a few universities where I teach a course on Data Science and technology. Now for my review on more the facility and educational offering... If I had a child that was resonating stronger towards the sciences, math, technology, or arts - there would be no doubt to have my child take classes here. The facility is using state of the art and in some cases groundbreaking technology. 3D printing, Macs, Garage Band, Minecraft, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Robotics and they also have courses that teach computer and data languages like Python and Java. However, the METHOD that is used (as I took a bit of courses myself next to a 5 year old) is using building blocks and visual methods to showcase not just how something works but WHY it works. The instructors are all HS and College students that seem to be able to interact better with younger kids better than most adults. The kids were inquisitive and the instructors didn't seem to mind all the questions and can explain using items kids already know (like Legos) and adding in cooler other features like batteries to turn their Legos into robots. I wish Zaniac would start to consider some of these course for adults as well. The skills the kids are learning are great foundation courses and are skills that are marketable today. The location is also pretty convenient to the PATH and other businesses nearby. Bottom Line: This is a great offering for children and a way to keep them learning and curious but also building valuable skills.

Some small fixes like one or two less programs, a schedule sent to parents in advance(not after day 1) and email summaries of the day or week would go a long way. While the local private schools don't have the same technical focused camps, the attention and care to these basic details are fully covered. While your kids may enjoy playing Minecraft, not clear they learn much.

We were very skeptical of ELA at first. Honestly, we were a little desperate. We needed to get our kid out of his daycare and River School had a waitlist for forever, so we took a chance on ELA. It was close to our place and an easy walk to PATH. Oh my gosh, I am so glad we did. My child blossomed so much at ELA. He was coming home knowing his alphabet, his numbers, singing songs. Truly truly great experience. The teachers loved him so much that they all literally came out and cried on his last day. We really wanted to come back to Yelp and give them a stellar review because they deserve it and they deserve a serious look for any parent in the area.

ELA is a very good place for toddlers & pre schoolers. Staff are nice & friendly. Although the turn over of teachers is slightly high, i would say all the teachers are warm & caring & they do their best to help kids improve. The hours are very convenient for working moms, they have early drop off & late pick up. Their price is comparable to other nurseries in Jersey city. Kids learn interesting stuff beside the usual English & math, like sign language, yoga & Spanish...etc It is a multicultural place, there are kids from different countries, my girls learnt few Russian & Indian words :) My overall experience with ELA is terrific & i recommend it to anyone who has kids age 1 to 5 years old.
