Although she leaves her cell phone number on her voicemail when she is not in, she doesn't answer that phone either! When I speak to the operator and ask who I should speak to, they again referred me to Shannon. I even stopped by the facility for a tour on two different occasions and she again was not there! I want a job like hers where I can come and go as I please and not have to return phone calls! What a shame for a business like Easter Seals to have such poor management!

The teachers are engaged with the students they are always super friendly and organized. The students really seem to like school and get involved with my program both answering and asking questions. When I have kids this is the school I want them to go to.

We have been attending Citrus Glen since my middle child was in TK. What I have found is a school that has very dedicated, loving teachers. A school that has a principal who communicates and does in fact solve problems. Pretty sure my son's experience with bullying last year, and the fact that both the teacher and the principal responded to my concern the same day and followed up numerous times would be ample evidence that the principal does follow through. In fact, she followed up with me at the start of THIS school year to make sure nothing was amiss. As to the claims of racism in the front office. It should be noted that the front office is staffed with a diverse group of ladies. A group of ladies who work with a very, very diverse student population. I can only imagine that when they offered a wide variety of income and address verification options that they did so because they were suggestions that have helped solve a problem in the past and not because they were making "racist" assumptions. As to the comments regarding PTA. I totally understand PTA is not for everyone. But my question would be...does this person personally know the PTA parents? Have they had a conversation? Have they come to meetings? Asked questions? Do they realize that every single parent involved with PTA is a volunteer. A volunteer attempting to make the school a better place? Do they not like the 3....yes 3... field trips their student takes each year? Do they not like art? Music? School equipment? Because all of those things are facilitated through PTA support. Please, show me how any PTA parent is using the PTA for their own personal benefit. Because, as someone involved with PTA....I only see parents trying to better the school. If you don't agree with it, have a suggestion, or would like to see something change, please....have a conversation. Sound harsh? Perhaps, but putting down hard working volunteers (PTA or otherwise) really sets me off. This all said, my children attended a school that severely lacked a sense of community, school pride and cooperative principal leadership. In our 4 years at Citrus Glen I, as well as my husband, have been shown time and time again what a fantastic learning environment the school really is. This environment is the product of teachers and staff who love their job and love kids.

A relative even shared this same observation and they attended different day/class. The very last straw was one day.... They always go out to the playground late afternoon. Yeah it is pretty and green spacious and good equipment... But several insecure gates leading different directions....three staff sat at the lunch tables deep in conversation I decided to wait n see how long it took for them to notice me when they continued to chat away. THEY NEVER EVEN NOTICED THAT I RETRIEVED MY SON FROM THE PLAYGROUND SIGNED HIM OUT AND LEFT!!!! I was horrified called director and never took him back again. A few weeks later my grandma was leaving mass at the next door church and saw a four year old girl bawling her eyes out completely alone in the same UNLOCKED playground like they had stuck her in a time out chair outside completely unattended!!! Boy did my grandma go over and give them a piece of her mind!!!

As the main method of communication. Ok people... work life balance and common courtesy should enter into play here! The folks at the schools say they send it this way because the assumption is most parents/guardians are home to get the " super critical " message at the appointed time. Seriously? Like kids don't know how to intervene and snake the incoming message ? Yeah it's too much money for photocopies to announce the fast food fiesta fundraiser at maggot meals deluxe . And I get that it's too technologically advanced to figure out how to make an e-mailing list ( without showing ALL THE EMAIL ADDY'S!!), to send for convenient reading and later reference. But good heavens. Please. Schools and district . Have some respect. Stop calling after business hours . Unless it's an emergency. Be reasonable and responsible. You're infringing on our privacy. Like telemarketers. Gasp! Problem solve this like a real business. There's a better way . Maybe even two ! It's not ok to call parents after 5. Period. Please stop.

They pay attention to academic, emotional and developmental care of the child. A very fun place. My 10 year old is terribly shy, but joyfully runs into Catalyst kids as if it were home.
